I’ll be incredibly upset if this closes. It’s my favourite show after Wicked and it’s such a shame that it hasn’t caught on over here. I will 100% be at closing night if it is to close in the summer.

I never saw the London production so I’ll never know what I missed! Kayi Ushe is an amazing Lola though I think.

Olivia’s listed first in the programme but it’s just alphabetical I think. I think Sarah probably is first cover Jenna seeing as Olivia’s pretty young and is already 1st cover Dawn anyway.

Sadly I wouldn't be so sure. I do hope she is done with the production and that the deliberations have all been to find the best and easiest way to make that happen BUT I also have a concern that the producers may find their hands are tied and if she is adamant that she isn't going anywhere, they could be stuck with her. which really would signal the end because then everyone will be in uproar if she doesn't apologise and refuses to leave as well. Because then we know shes still homophobic and she doesn't care about the people she works with or the audience. If ever there was a Theatre Board trip, this should be it. We can sit front row and wear rainbow outfits and when she come on for her final bow we can let off confetti cannons and start making out with one another. Sounds like a pretty fun day out to be honest!

I've just made a call to the box office asking what will happen if they make the choice for her to continue and whether we will be able to see an alternate or whether they will honour refunds. They've said obviously they won't be able to say anything until an official statement is released, but they've had a number of calls today regarding the situation and they will be putting all concerns forward to the team making decisions. She sounded very much supportive and understanding of my feelings toward it. You must be bored aren’t you? You go to see a SHOW not to hear her speak about her views regarding the LGBTQ+ community. Sad you want to ruin somebody else’s career because you don’t align yourself to her views. I wouldn’t go and see her in it either, and I doubt many people from the LGBT+ community would. Some of my ticket money goes in to her paycheck and I don’t want to give a penny to a person who tries to tell me that THE WAY I WAS BORN is somehow wrong or even a sin. End of.

I mean Wicked and Waitess are my two favourite musicals and Lucie is a great performer so just pick one of them girl and the producers will be getting lots and lots of my money!

Lucie Jones told us at her concert tonight that she’s in the middle of the audition process for Wicked so it would seem that this really isn’t her upcoming project. She didn’t even sing She Used To Be Mine. As much as I love Lucie, I actually think her Jenna would really soar when she’s a few years older and that right now she’s the perfect age to give us an incredible Elphaba! Someone on BroadwayWorld formus said that it was their understanding that she was signed up to lead the Broadway company of Waitress to the point that they did a photoshoot and that talks fell apart at the last minute. I suppose with the absolute state the casting of this show seems to be over in New York, this wouldn’t be too hard to believe. Did she make it seem like Wicked was a sure thing? I still feel like she’ll be in the mix to take over from Kat McPhee (whenever she ends her run) depending on her availability. Maybe it really was the idea all along that Lucie does a stint on broadway first and then move to the west end. I wonder the reason for the Broadway talks breaking down, if those sources are accurate? It’s funny because when she announced her mini-tour she insinuated that she had a big exciting project coming up but then when she was interviewed on BBC Radio Wales last week she said something more along the lines of she “might” have something exciting coming up rather than a definite job. So I guess maybe something could have gone wrong with Waitress, maybe Kat wants to extend for another 3 months and they don’t need her now? As far as Wicked goes, she just said she’s in the middle of auditioning for it again and “we’ll see what happens”, I can’t see why she’d be doing callbacks for Wicked if Waitress was still happening really.

I am only watching this as I still predict that Rachel will takeover from Jen colella at some point. I wouldn't be so sure - her son is school age now so I can't see her uprooting her family back to New York any time soon. That's true though maybe she could just do a 3 month run or something, if she did a summer run she could bring her family over for the holidays maybe. I can imagine the big Broadway fans would be eager to have her back again anyway!

I know this is left field but how about they get Jessica Vosk to do it for a month or so? Rumor has it she is leaving the Broadway production in May so they can just slip her in for July-August. I know it's wishful thinking but, I would love to see her live. That would get me racing back to the AV!

See I don’t see Lucie as a Glinda at all. I guess she could do it, I’m sure she could pull off the humour like in Legally Blonde and look great in a blonde wig but she has such an amazing belt that I think would be wasted in the Glinda part. Also it was The Wizard and I she sang for us so it must be Elphaba she’s been auditioning for.

Lucie Jones told us at her concert tonight that she has auditioned for Wicked no less than 9 times!!! I suppose it makes sense that she wouldn’t have got it with them bringing in many ex green girls and bumping up standbys in the past year. She also told us that she’s in the middle of auditioning for it yet again and she’s determined that she’ll play the role one day. As much as I love Amy Ross, I would really love to see Lucie in the witch’s hat come July!

Setlist for tonight’s Cardiff show:
Act I 1. Not sure what the first song was 2. Getting Married Today (Company) 3. The Wizard and I (Wicked) 4. Journey To The Past (Anastasia) 5. Me and the Sky (Come From Away) 6. I’ll Never Love Again (A Star is Born) 7. The Winner Takes It All (ABBA) 8. Never Give Up On You (Eurovision) 9. You’ll Be Back (Hamilton)
Act II 10. Legally Blonde Medley 11. Shape of You (Ed Sheeran) 12. Let It Go (Frozen) 13. A Summer in Ohio (The Last Five Years) 14. If I Loved You (Carousel) 15. Bring Him Home (Les Misérables) 16. Memphis Lives In Me (Memphis) 17. The Greatest Showman Medley 18. That’s Life
Great mix of songs, I love that it was mostly musical theatre, that’s what we really love to hear! Lucie was in great voice and the intimate space was nice.
First story of the night was that Lucie auditioned for the Company revival when they hadn’t decided if Amy was to become Jamie but obviously ultimately didn’t get it when they decided to go with the gender-flip. Her version of Getting Married Today was basically her listing lots and lots of musicals to the tune of the song, it’s hard to explain if you weren’t there! She forgot the words a few times and if I’m being brutally honest it was a bit of a mess but she carried it through with her natural charisma and humour. I think it’s probaly best to take it out of the set though as she said 😂 She then told us that she has auditioned for Wicked 9(!!!) times. She would be a truly amazing Elphaba and I really hope she finally gets the part very soon. Her version of Me and the Sky had me in tears, I think it’s partly just the song, but wow! I really hope she has the chance to be Beverley when she’s older too. The Legally Blonde medley was so much fun, and she sings all the songs amazingly. There was this fan in the audience who’d seen her in the tour 15 times and comes to everything she does screaming out a bit and singing along. 🙄🙄🙄 Bring Him Home was incredible and That’s Life was a very slick and classy end to the night. Lovely evening overall, with very overpriced prosecco!

WhatsOnStage have this listed as closing 19th October. Is this the website listing "closing dates" as when the show is currently booking to or does anyone know if this is actually due to close then? I think if they were planning to close then they’d announce it, that’s just the end of the booking period for now.

Yeah I think that second tweet is the final nail in the coffin, I don’t think she can continue in this LGBT+ role now.

I think she should be given the chance to explain herself, to apologise for that awful post and to assure us that her views have changed if they truly have, and it needs to be convincing. I think it would be sad to take a role away from a person for something they said 5 years ago, and at a young age, if they are sincerely apologetic and have changed their ways. But I agree we, the LGBT+ community, deserve both an apology and an explanation!

That is up to us, they will only escape if we let them. Everyone seemingly content in letting Cameron carry about his life as if he hasn’t caused such a calamity of a situation does leave me a little dispondant. I think I need to get my head out of theatre world for a bit because it took me a bit too long to realise you weren’t talking about Cameron Mackintosh and the Les Mis revole/no revolve/concert mess there!

I think it will go to the Adelphi. Let’s face it, Waitress is never going to last into 2020. I don’t know, it’s had some very good reviews so let’s give it a chance!

Oh, is Theatremusings another Carl Woodward account then? I was going to say earlier that I saw Theatremusings retweeted something of his, and that’s when I guessed they were probably full of sh*t!

I don’t really follow The Voice so hadn’t seen Nicole Dennis’ audition/singing with J-Hud until it came up on my youtube recommended but damn she sounded GOOD! Especially on And I Am Telling You. If she gets far enough in the competition I can see the Dreamgirls tour being “Starring The Voice’s Nicole Raquel Dennis” if it’s still happening.
P.S. with Ruth and Karen as her alternates 🤣

My biggest is also Wicked, 8 times since 2015. That's not loads compared to others obviously but it still yields the "What?? HUH??" response from most people. My first pairing was Emma and Sophie Linder-Lee and then I went back twice before Emma and Savannah left, regret that now! In the grand scheme of things there are so many better pairings... I went back for Rachel then in January 2017 and then for Willemijn in April, and I remember being sat there a bit bored at points to the point that I was thinking "come on Willemjin give us some riffy action" so I can see why the fans who go twice a week are so riff-obsessed. I saw the show once on Broadway with the incredible Jackie Burns then and twice on tour last year and I think I'll definitely not be back for a few more years yet unless they announce some stellar casting for July. I've also seen Miss Saigon and Hairspray 3 times each and would be back in a shot if they re-emerged in London/on tour. Shows seen twice: Rent, Dreamgirls, Company, Little Shop of Horrors, Matilda, Evita (but that was just to see if I'd like it more the second time than the first and because it was cheap!)
EDIT: Also, I know already that my new Wicked is probably going to be Waitress! I think money-permitting I'll try to go every six months for as long as it manages to stay open.

Who sings the "sugar, butter, flour" pre-recorded bits? It sounds a lot like Sara I’m pretty sure it is Sara.
