Dame Shirley Bassey is opening the BAFTA film awards with a Bond song for Bond's 60th anniversary. As she has done 3 of them not sure which one or maybe a medley!

For any fans of Richard Fleeshman there is a new "comedy" series on ITV2 called Deep Heat. It's not going to win any Baftas but it's a bit of fun and you get to see The Fleesh in some gold lame trunks.

I saw a few people online giving up on The Witchfinder after the first episode, but it's worth sticking with - it takes a little while to get into its stride and become its own thing (it feels like 17thc Partridge at first).

Yes what a great opening episode - welcome return for this classy drama. Gut punch of an ending, I’m looking forward to seeing where this series goes and how they wrap everything up.

It was great but I would have liked a couple of minutes recap at the beginning as I had forgotten a lot of what happened in the last series so would have helped to jolt my memory.

There's really only one thing on TV for the next 17 days...morning, noon and night.
The world-famous Crucible Theatre will be getting the kind of international exposure that lesser venues can only dream about.
Let's get the boys on the baize.

BGT back again. Can't believe no one thought to tell Alyshia she he'd forgotten to put on a top. I miss the days when they had lots of rubbish acts. Now almost every act goes through. Usual sob stories and set up scenarios. Best bit was how people exaggerated how many people were in the audience. The Palladium holds about 2,286 people but you could clearly see the whole back section of the upper circle was empty and there was some sort of social distancing going on in the stalls and dress so nowhere near capacity. Yet one of the contestants talked about appearing in front of 3,000 people and David Walliams told a contestant they had 4,004 votes. By the end of the programme we will probably be up to 20,000 in the audience.

Scottish Opera's The Gondoliers BBC4 8pm tonight. As far as I can recall, this is the first new G&S the BBC has shown for about a decade (the last I can think of was Yeomen of the Guard from the Proms in 2012).

Kate Atkinson's Life after Life is available on BBC iPlayer or weekly on Tuesdays on BBC2. Any drama where the newborn central character Ursula dies half a dozen times in the first half hour is going to be tricky to pull off, but they've found a way to play and replay events with variations that makes for fascinating viewing. Hopefully the same team will film A God in Ruins which follows Ursula's younger brother's life in a slightly different format that also plays with time. ( Reading the books first is recommended, as they're beautifully written and have lots of details that any adaptation has to omit.)

Enjoyed watching The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe. I remember how bizarre the real life story was and think Eddie Marsan and Monica Dolan captured John and Anne Darwin brilliantly. There is a documentary about the case tomorrow on ITV.

Just started watching a rather sweet Netflix series called Heartstopper. Olivia Coleman has a minor role in it too.
