I saw it at the cinema as my mate Cynthia was in it. It wasn't my kind of film to be honest and I much preferred the British adaptation of it a few years ago. It's a Linda La Plante book. But I'm sure others will enjoy it. |

I similarly watched it because I was intrigued as to whether Cynthia Erivo can do film acting (she can). It's ok, not brilliant but not terrible either. |

Doctor Who...but catch up of the final episodes of Paris Police 1900 - which was on BBC4. A brilliantly rich, historical crime drama, set at the time of the second Dreyfus trial. Highly recommended.

I rather enjoyed the 1st episode of Showtrial on BBC1 last night. Snap! I'm rubbish at names of telly actors but thought the actor playing the spoilt rich kid was brilliant. Every episode is now on iplayer and I'm resisting the urge to binge. |

Just finished Showtrial. So frustrated not to have a satisfactory ending. After 5 hours, we deserved clarity not more teasing.

I know there was a verdict. I wanted the truth of what happened. But isn't that a lawyers dilemma? I loved the uncertainty as it reminded me, it is not just in my profession of social work that has it. Somethings you just never know and you have to accept it as part of the job description. |

I know that is the nature of the justice system. But this was a TV drama - I wanted to proper resolution not a talking point! It didn't earn the right to leave me hanging. |

New ‘tec series, Dalgiesh on 5. How are you feeling about it Lynette? I love PD James and used to sit and watch the Roy Marsden Dalgleish with my Nana on a Friday night. These have been really heavy and dour. I know they aren’t meant to be knockabout comedy but it’s just too oppressive. Like Bertie Carvell a lot though. |
