When are they actually filming it? It's being filmed on the 31st August. So after it closes. Not sure how tickets are being distributed, other than that my work has an internal competition going to get tickets. It is "featuring an international cast representative of the show from all over the world".

Was just wondering if anyone had been to see this and had any thoughts? I've never been to a magic show before and would quite like to see it.
Have been having a look at what deals are available, it seems to be at TKTS, but not sure what their allocation is and if there is a better deal elsewhere.
Also looking for any advice on the availability of Dayseats. I know Monkey's site says Box Office Discretion and limited to 10 per performance, but wondered if anyone had any experience of trying for them to know if they are available and how easy they were to get. There seems to be a lot of availability in terms of booking generally.

I've heard Anneka Rice, Jamie Laing and Sam Allardyce mentioned. Good luck to the girl who gets Big Sam - Katya so she won't run off with him, Janette to dance around him, Oti as she has a big chest like him, Amy as she always gets the older bloke etc. There has been a new female pro announced called Nancy Xu who is a 28 year old Chinese dancer who has been on Burn the Floor amongst others. Ian Lee supposedly leaked them on GMB this morning. I think they're all names which have been bandied about for a while so I wouldn't be too surprised if they do take part, but I'm a bit skeptical as to the accuracy of his knowledge as as far as I am aware he isn't involved with the show at all, unless he is another contestant this year. I think the codenames for the three are supposedly: Bananaman Hulk Mystique Jamie Lang made a disgusting Banana Bread in Celebrity Bake off, so could be a good shout.

Managed to score a preview ticket to this at the weekend.
It was better than I was expecting, and everything, to me seemed to work better in context.
There were some funny new lines, some left out that I missed, some that felt a bit shoe-horned. Overall it's an enjoyable film, but it doesn't quite live up to the original.
I think the original had a perfect voice cast and the new one tries to find similar people, but they aren't different enough, or as good as the originals in many cases.
On a side note, Carrie Hope Fletcher sat next to my cousin, which was entertaining as my other cousin (the brother of the cousin I went with) used to date Carrie.

Just reading on Facebook that the magic carpet hasn't been working for a few days now! They sing Whole New World on the windowsill instead. I wonder if they're going to bother to get it fixed now the show only has a few weeks left to run? That's a shame. Going for the 3rd time tonight with some friends who haven't seen it before.

Depends how cheap you are looking for Sam . There's day seats at the theatre. Premium seats about half price, balcony from £15 to £20. theatreticketsdirect.co.uk, londontheatredirect.com and seetickets all have various deals at the moments, but the prices vary wildly depending on date chosen. If there are children involved, kidsweek also has an allocation. Thanks Monkey. No set budget but just looking for a good deal on a nice seat. My parents were going to Jess Glynne at Kew (on the 10th July), but since she's cancelled and they have a hotel booked we're looking for alternatives. I know they'd balk at paying £70-£90 for a ticket, so I'm looking up to £50ish. More concerned with value than cheapness I guess. Not sure what time day seats are generally selling out (if at all). I wouldn't be able to get to the theatre until 6pm. I'm putting together a list of shows for them to choose from.

Happy to sit through the series as the last episode gave me the one thing I wanted and cared about by the end, {Spoiler - click to view} Titus and Mikey ending up together. Give them a spin-off!

The shows I liked the best: Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (co-production with BBC America - it's absolutely brilliant and I'm still extremely gutted it wasn't renewed) I tried Dirk Gently, but I just couldn't get into it like I did with the Stephen Mangan version. May have to give it another go.

I really loved Titans when it first started but I agree with the above that it lost it's way and whole episodes were about characters that they were trying to launch into series. I also get deeply confused with DC universe, is the Titans/Doom Patrol/Batwoman in the same world as the Arrowverse or the same world as the films or something completely different. Doom Patrol has started and we're 3 episodes in. It really is completely and utterly deranged. It's something that might benefit from a binge watch actually as you get sucked into the world, the most recent episode was the best one yet but still truly odd. I think Titans, Doom Patrol, and anything further based on the characters we've seen in those (be it Hawk and Dove, or Wondergirl) are based in their own Universe, separate to the Cineverse and the Arrowverse. Batwoman is going to be in the Arrowverse (Arrow, Flash, the Legends and now Batwoman are Earth 1, and Supergirl is Earth 38, but all within the same continuity).
I'm trying to hold out to watch Doom Patrol once it lands on Netflix here, but there is no date for that announced yet.
Other series I enjoyed were Frequency, which is based on the film of the same name (though I haven't seen the film). Unfortunately was cancelled after the first series, but they released an epilogue to tie things up.
I also enjoyed Limitless, which expands from the film. It focusses on new characters though Bradley Cooper does make a few appearances. Again cancelled after one series.

As there are too many threads about different TV shows, I thought I should create one general Netflix thread. I've recently binge watched Russian Doll (there were a couple of boring episodes in the middle but I ended up loving it) and Sex Education (brilliant show, with a brilliant cast, that's what I call chemistry!). I'm in the middle of Titans (entertaining, but I'm not loving it) and One Day at a Time (Rita Moreno is hilarious in it and such a legend). Any new (or older) shows I should watch? I don't mind the country of origin/language. I'm used to reading subtitles. I've heard mixed reviews about Umbrella Academy. Any thoughts? I just finished Titans. I thought the best episode was the Doom Patrol one. In general I found the tone too dark, trying very much to be serious and adult, which is why the lighter Doom Patrol squad were a highlight for me. I also felt like half of the series was dedicated to back-door pilots for other shows, (particularly Hawk and Dove) which is fine in a longer season, but the 10 episodes didn't really have much time to establish the titans characters as it is. I found the many flashbacks and flashforwards quite jarring, and by the end of the series I was left feeling a bit empty. It definitely felt more like a mid-season finale rather than a series finale.
One Day at a Time on the other hand I absolutely love. Especially the theme song. I really hope it gets renewed.
The other titles you've mentioned are on my to watch list. Other than that Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is the main show I keep up with on Netflix. I'm still watching Riverdale, but more out of obligation, and reluctance to start something new.

Where is the best place to find out what is going on in London over any particular time period?
I'm planning a visit up to see a friend and trying to plan what we can do whilst I'm up. There aren't really any West End shows that I'm desperate to see, so just wondering where I can find out wider entertainment listings.
There are so many venues for entertainment, I just wondered what the best resource was for finding out what is on across Theatre, Music, Comedy, Magic, etc rather than venue specific listings.
Looking at either the last weekend in March, or the first in April.

My dad bought membership for my mum so I booked this on Saturday.
Took advantage of the festival saver as you save 20% if you book the same amount of tickets for 4 shows at the same time, but this didn't apply to the press night or previews. For the dates I was looking at, it looked like the whole theatre had been on sale, some seats were unavailable but there was a good spread across the theatre, I had been about 2000 in the queue when I logged on at 9.
I was most worried about availability for this show as I know the theatre is tiny, I did a workshop there for my GCSE drama. I just checked on Wikipedia, which says it has a 310 person capacity. It is on for a good few months though so whilst you might not be able to get a ticket for the previews unless they have held some back you should be ok for another date.

Option poll now done that says 10% of the country would vote for this new movement. As they have no policies and no leader and their one unique selling point seems to be they hate everyone else in politics this confirms my view that we might as well give up now...... They should call themselves 'None of the Above' party, they'd get a lot more than 10%...

I shall report back on my experience. My mum is coming with me, she saw the Schof back in the day, so I'll ask her how it compares. I love the film (and Rex Harrison in general) so there's a lot to live up to.

The ATG offer is on groupon as well but is only Monday-Thursday. Anyone more familiar with the theatre able to say whether there are likely to be any other discounts (in person or otherwise), looking to go to one of the 3 shows this weekend, there are still hundreds of seats left for each performance? Are we talking about Oxford? Travelzoo has an offer, for various dates this week and next. Amazing Paul, includes weekends to where groupon doesn't! Perfect!

I was looking forward to seeing this in the summer (though hadn't booked so I guess I am part of the problem rather than the solution!) I think it was tricky that they hadn't announced any casting for Southampton (and other dates I believe) and the show alone won't sell This is the main reason I had for not booking yet, as I wanted to know which doctor I would rather see.
It's a real shame, looking at booking a last minute trip to Oxford, but it's a busy month.

The only time I've ever heard of the "shoes on the table" superstition was through Blood Brothers. Has anyone here encountered it in any other context, or is it something invented for the show? When I worked in M&S a customer made me put the shoes they were buying through the till without putting them down on the counter.

Although it's highly unlikely I would stump up for tickets for this unless the cast is something spectacular or a small person in my circle wanted to go, I am sure it will be popular given the film's appeal. It doesn't have to be good given it has a high level of name recognition. However having shown no previous interest in this I now have questions. Naked Sauna Dance? Naked. Sauna. Dance. ? ? Someone please enlighten me. Don't remember that in film! {Spoiler - click to view} The opening number of act two is based at Wandering Oaken's Sauna, talking about the concept of Hygge. Starts off fairly normal with people bundled up in winter clothes, culminates in the ensemble doing a kick line in skin colour lycra maybe (supposed to look naked) with some strategically placed branches to cover their intimate parts...

I really don't get the abject hatred and distain for this show. Saw it on my May trip to NY and enjoyed it well enough. My mum is a huge fan of Frozen so it was a no-brainer to include this in our trip. She loved it and said that she'd definitely see it again should it come to the West End.
Sure it's not high art but its a nice way to spend a couple of hours. There are certainly things that could be improved, and they are potentially reworking some of it (Please remove the "naked" section of hygge, so awkward). There are also some really lovely elements, like the Sven puppet, and the ice effects during the young Anna and Elsa section of the show. I'll definitely be looking to get tickets when they go on sale.
