With the sudden news of Eugenius cancelling their transfer, could we see a show going in there over Christmas to cover their run? If they are willing to do a cast change for Carrie, could Heathers potentially go there for an extension throughout December and early January? Its a perfect size and the fangirls would be off school so perfect timing! That's not a bad shout, just wonder if the economics work for just one month rather than the two that Eugenius would have had, since Heathers doesn't finish at the Haymarket until November 24. Whatever it is would need to close by January 5th

I'd say Ambassadors won't wait til the end of November for a new show (Of course they might have no choice). I'd say a play might grab the slot. An unlucky turn of events for the theatre.

So we thinking, say, a mid November through early January run. It would have to be something that is easy to move in, cheap to run. An already touring production maybe that could just slip in. The Blood Brothers Autumn leg of their tour ends on December 1st, could that go in for a month?

Maybe something quick like a stand up show?

I could see The Wiper Times which is at the Arts from next week to December 1st transferring for an extension until January Or, to flip the script, could Six go in there for a month, to make it Olivier eligable and to promote its open-ended run at the Arts?

Six is touring during that period Ah didn't realise. Shame. It's not a shame for the vast majority of the population that lives outwith London and who are looking forward to seeing Six at a local(ish) theatre!!!

Anyone who has been to the Ambassadors since the closure of Stomp will confirm it is no longer a *proper* West End house! It has a stage and a couple of hundred uncomfortable seats, but that's about it. I would suggest a children's show, but it would probably put them off theatre for life!

The sooner the Ambassadors is refurbished, the better.

Out of curiosity, why are so many predicting/hoping for a Starlight Express return? Is that something that’s been rumoured? Is the show any good? (i’ve never seen it) They workshopped some revisions to it at The Other Palace fairly recently with performances; developing it based on feedback from the audience. So there must be some intention for a reincarnation of it soon. The revisions were for the German 30th anniversary production. Not for a new West End revival. Arlene said that in Bochum to the whole audience.

So no intention to remount it in the UK at any point then?

The Cameron drink was at Mamma Mia 2 film premier after party, Arlene info was at the Starlight anniversary I went to the end of June this year. The Other Palace workshops were for Germany, but Arlene and Andrew have always dreamed of opening Starlight in a Bochum style purpose built venue in the UK. That’s how it should be staged for the races to really work and create speed.

I wonder if Starlight would be a success here once again? I know it was a bit back in the day, and the workshops were sold well, but in a big theatre in the UK? I'm curious?

Just bring Something Rotten or Great Comet.
If it was outside in the rain, I'd still watch it happily.

I'm surprised Something Rotten hasn't come over actually, I think it could have a fair run over here in a medium sized theatre.

I saw Something Rotten on Broadway and I'm as surprised as the rest of you that it never made it over here. The humour of it would work extremely well on these shores and the million little parodies of other shows within it are hilarious.

Someone on here suggested to do Something Rotten at The Globe, which would be beyond hilarious.
