Awfully unlikely but what I would give to see Cynthia Erivo in the role of Celie just once more.
I read The Color Purple when I was 14 after a teacher at school recommended it, I've since read it 3 times and it's the only book I still think about to this day. It's rare to have a book of which it's film and musical adaptations are just as amazing!

I did not think Something Rotten was very good at all and would not weep if it never made its way over here. Though that said, I wouldn't weep if it *did* make its way over, it's not like it would be hurting anyone...

Could Little Shop transfer? When I saw it, I thought they would be hoping for a transfer. It seemed like too big a production for it just to be in place for 6wks, with all of the changes they made too you’d think they’d want it to be seen wider. I also noticed that Vicky Vox now has a UK agent too which suggests she’ll be doing more work over here. I don’t know what sort of theatre it would go into though or for what sort of run.

Am I right in thinking we still need an announcement for Gielgud from December and Wyndham's from January?

Am I right in thinking we still need an announcement for Gielgud from December and Wyndham's from January? I believe so, though I've heard murmurings Company may extend a few weeks into the New Year to get the tourists in. Obviously nothing set in stone yet though!

Somewhere like the New London would be perfect.

I'm not creating a rumor and I haven't heard anything about this, but I just saw a picture of the King Kong set and it has Dominion written all over it if it ever choses to transfer.

I’ve heard rumours that Hello Dolly is coming! Anymore news on this? There's been murmurings for about a year now. The most recent one surrounds The London Palladium for a limited Summer run like The King and I, with the issue being Bette wanting to do less weeks than the producers want. This was last discussed a month or so back so things may of changed tho.

Went to see Bat last night and was really wondering what could go into that theatre next.
Is is absolutely VAST. Couldn't think of anything new and home grown - all could think of were Broadway transfers that would fit: Pretty Woman - surely will come over, just when.... King Kong - mixed reviews so think will need a few re-writes and won't be ready for a while. The Cher Show, Tootsie, Moulin Rouge - Not even OPENNED on Broadway yet!
So nothing soon!
Thought of the Starlight Express revival - you could put tracks round this theatre, it's massive - but would have to be a guaranteed sell out for at least the first 2 years I'd have thought - I love it to bits but don't think it could do that in Dominion. Am thinking some very clever technology (the 3D glasses were done over 20 years ago - effects SO much better now) in a more medium sized theatre. Seriously think New London could work!
So Dominion - is there tour that could go in? Otherwise I predict will be dark from 5th January.
And than back to Bat - surprised no UK tour rumours. That set is available (Oberhausen and US Tour have new ones). Sure it would do amazing business at long sit downs in the big 6 - Southampton/Bristol/Brum/Liverpool/Edinburgh then back to Manchesterford where it all began. I am praying haha!

I have to agree with you here Dom regarding a UK tour. Having only watched it once when it opened in Manchester, I would love it to make a reappearance there or Liverpool. I’d be there like a shot. Though I doubt my bank balance would thank me! I know when I watched it, I got talking to the people around me preshow who had travelled from all over the country to see it, so as you say it would do great business on a few sit downs in the theatres you mentioned. Like you, I’m praying that we get some good news sooner or later regarding the tour. In the meantime, I’m having the OCR on repeat as compensation.

I wonder if there's a tiny chance of it extending after all if there's no demand for the Dominion? Looking at the seating plans, the Mon-Wed Eves look dire, but the weekends are looking really good, sales-wise, so maybe it's finally finding its mojo. Or is that just the effect of announcing its closing that prods people to finally go and see it? Anyway, would love a tour and I'm sure there's a market. Tour it for a year, then return to the West End

...but don’t tour it if it’s a cut down bargain basement version. I remember when they toured ‘Tommy’ after the (not at all by todays standards) spectacular w/e version closed. It was so disappointing and it sullied it’s memory for me for quite a while. Go big or don’t bother.
(and, good morning Viserys 😬).

Wasn't Beauty and the Beast here back in the day? I wonder if Disney could surprise us with a return of that or another big show that hasn't been here for a while/ever?

Another murmuring I've heard going around is The Addams Family, the UK Tour production could go into the Dominion for a limited run. Which I would totally be here for! 😊

Waitress cast announcement will probably come in. November sometime Sarah Barelllis will star as Jenna Or could be Summer The Donna Summer Musical at the SHAFTESBURY THEATRE To open after refurbishment Or Anastasia announcement are my bets 🤗

I don't see Summer or Anastasia coking in anytime soon. Neither are as big a deal here as they are in the US and, at least from what I've heard of the Broadway production, Summer will need some work. Over here, so many jukebox musicals, they kill one another if a new one isn't decent. Tina took over the slot Beautiful left behind, and I guess Motown is closing, but if Summer is like some are saying, it may be worth holding off. It doesn't help Tina became a huge hit over here.

And as much as I want the Hello Dolly thing to come off, it’ll be a July slot like King and I but there are too many complications at the moment.

I think the next show to be officially announced will be Mean Girls, going to the Savoy late 2019/early 2020 dependant if they want a second filler to go in first or extend the limited 9 to 5 run.
