This wonderful piece of entertainment on channel 5 is the replacement for St. Jane of Wakefield's critically acclaimed and ground breaking travelogues. Indeed she pushes the limits of TV variety shows just as much as she did with travel shows - all the way back to the 1970's.
The studio audience clearly loves it as much as I do, because they gave the Yorkshire diva a standing ovation for nicking someone else's signature song. There is so much cheese, it could have been filmed in Cheddar and sponsored by Dairylea - and I'm loving every minute of the owld sh*te!!!!!
I feel like mainlining on Tetley tea and breaking into Betty's Harrogate tea room.

I had tickets for the filming of this but decided not to go. Wish I had now, looks like a great camp fun. We would have been the youngest in the audience though

Great camp variety cheesy nonsense I Love it ! St Jane of the Mac Donald does it again. .... more than a whiff of the late great Marti Caine tonight even nicking her stool routine ... and then some surprise surprise for good measure ..... mind you not as blatant as eamon and Ruth stealing that’s life !! Lol even had Anne widdicombe instead of Cyril fletcher

I'm not sure that new tempo suited Alexander O'Neil. No wonder the poor lad was blowing by the end.

Eeeee that were right northern weren't it! Had a bit of everything. 4 frocks, camp dancing, roller skates and audience participation. And what about Jamie and his jiggy jumping? Loved the outtakes at the end.

Just caught up with this, so retro and cheesy but I loved every second of it. Big hair, sparkly outfits, brashy charm...fabulous. I'm totally going to see her in MK when she tours later this year 😁

You will not be disappointed Robert. Have seen Jane many times in concert and she comes across and sounds better live than on tv. You will have a fab night.

Sorry to rock the boat but I thought it was awful. It reminded me of when I was a little girl (150 years ago) watching Liberace and wondering what all the fuss was about.

Well that's why we are all different and have different tastes. It would do us no good if we were all the same and liked the same things.

Someone might want to have a quiet word with the announcer at the beginning and remind him Media City is in Salford, not Manchester.

I agree about Bonnie. Kerry was very good. The Voice is one of my favourite songs and Jane gave a great performance

Really enjoyed tonight’s show some great song choices Jane’s settling in well ... wish she had sang with the cute choir md (wish he was our md ) I know I’ll get a lot of flack but wasn’t mad on Kerry .... and Bonnie such a rocker but then sings to a backing track ? Had Janes live band nipped out for lunch ? She took some libertys with total eclipse but got through it ... just Every time I hear one voice reminds me of Lena zavaroni I’m sure way back in my mind I saw her on a royal variety it was the finale just her in a single spot ... then whole cast join in anyone else remember it can’t find it anywhere online ? Was not long before she died ... x
