Because of how much he (clearly) enjoying it, I genuinely wish him the best however if I'm honest, I'll be floored if Krishnan gets beyond the next two weeks.

Angela R, Ellie and Layton confirmed for arena tour.

I think that if I was Angela Ripon and Shirley Ballas called me ‘young lady’ I might shove her 8 paddle somewhere uncomfortable.

Layton's AT was very showy and had content. But it was too frenetic for me. And it had zero Argentine flavour. Another great show dance.
Ellie danced well.
Angela R and Annabelle didn't really but the marking was strategic to ensure that Krishnan was bottom by a long way and thus clearly signalling his exit.
It was a very ploddy samba from him and his time is up.

The judges have no consistency between their comments and scores. Motsi and Shirley gave standing ovations then a score of 8. Craig gave no feedback to Layton other than amazing, yet still didn’t give a 10. A couple of the dances I didn’t think really matched the music. Bottom 2 could be any combination of Angela S, Angela R, Annabel or Krishnan.

I really liked Annabel again this week. Good to see her having fun.
Ellie is my favourite to win. She’s really enjoying herself and progressing very well.
Angela R lifting her leg again - yawn.

Layton got absolutely robbed of 40. I can’t remember what Ellie scored but I feel it should have been higher. I didn’t think Angela’s paso was great at all.

It’s really frustrating that they score so inconsistently. Faultless should equal a 10. A-MAZING should equal a ten. It’s just reality tv nonsense if they don’t.

Amazing doesn't necessarily equate to perfect. And I think Craig is right to save a 10 for something truly exceptional.
That is not one of the ATs that I will go back and rewatch. It is a matter of personal taste. I can admire the skill, effort and technique without enjoying the performance to the same extent. The music choice also comes into it.
10s being thrown around too liberally devalues them.
I would personally not like to see them before the quarter finals!

I agree faultless should be a ten. Craig is clearly playing to the crowds no doubt saving his ten for next week.

I’d much rather it felt real, rather than me sitting at home knowing exactly who is going to score what because that’s what they always do. Worse still, giving exactly the same dance that they begrudgingly scored 7 in week 4 because it was ok, a whopping 10 in the final because somehow doing it in the final makes it better. It’s patronising beyond belief. I wouldn’t even use Layton as an example because I think he’s been reigned in for weeks, and we haven’t been allowed to see his growth. The early tens this year made me think perhaps they’d get real and score based on skill and how dances made you feel, but normal service has been resumed. It’s just ‘The Only Way Is Strictly’…constructed reality.

I was out and actually missed the first half of the show but have now caught up in the i-Player.
Some thoughts:
As I have previously mentioned, we're Krishnan fans in our house, however as much as he's (clearly) loving it, by this stage in the competition, not only was his dancing nowhere up to the standard of other but, you know things aren't going right when all four judges don't give feedback back on your actual dancing, but your personality.
Definitely time to go but he should hold his head up high.
Ellie and Vito- Again, extremely good and we've come to expect. However, with his shirt open, I noticed two things; firstly, he has chosen to keep his chest hair and not gone down the route of waxing- kudos to him! Secondly, with his shirt open I noticed how it extenuates how twisted the body becomes when dancing the Rumba.
Angela and Kai- I am by no means an expert on these things but should there not have been some cape work in the Passe? Or, is it a case that there are different types of Passe? Again, I'm not an expert.
As sensational as Leyton and Nikita were, for me personally, the dance of the night went to Nigel and Katya I mist admit that I've not really warmed to Nigel however I just thought this had a Gene Quality abut is and was simply beautiful!

Nigel was excellent last night. Really classy.
What did he win an Olivier for in 2009? Guys & Dolls?

Must have watched Layton & Nikita's AT about a dozen times over on YT already. Completely mesmerized by it. And when it comes to Layton dancing in hold, there's definitely been a marked progression and improvement, if you compare their AT to something like their Viennese Waltz in Week 3.
Looking forward to what the boys get in Blackpool Week. Hoping for something fun like Charleston/Couples Choice.

Interesting that Ripon isn’t chiming with the public. This will be at odds with the bbc who want her to to go forward. She doesn’t appear to take judge’s criticism very well does she.

The older people maybe vote for Angela but does she mean much to anyone under 45?

I think the speculation around the producers manipulating things to keep Angela R in the competition through to Blackpool may well have had an effect on the voting public.
I will be amazed if she isn't dancing to Let's Face the Music next weekend.
And that might save her for another week

I think she'd prefer to go out on a high, rather than struggling to keep up, so next weekend will probably be the one when Angela R goes unless someone else has a complete disaster. Johannes usually comes up with something spectacular for Blackpool and I can't see the judges sending anyone else home before Angela except Annabelle.

Yes, if Angela R is given a real spotlight moment at Blackpool she could avoid the bottom two. Hard to call who would be bottom if that happened. Maybe Angela S and Annabel? Though I get the feeling the former has a decent amount of fan support and the latter gained a lot of popularity for her Couple Choice.
At this stage I predict that Ellie and Layton will be locks for the final and that the third spot will go to either Nigel or Bobby, whichever ups their game the most in the coming weeks (there may be a chance of Angela S doing this too). At this stage I think Nigel is better, but Bobby might have more voters.

In the Strictly Spoiler polling, Annabelle is far more popular than either Angela. That may not be truly representative but could be indicative.
We haven't had a shock elimination yet.
