Ellie and Vito are still my favourites. Angela R's routine was very cute but overmarked. Nigel is being judged very harshly, much more than Layton is. I agree about Nigel's feedback from the judges and you can see on his face that he is disappointed by the criticism.

The awkward moment on It Takes Two when Nigel explains the story behind their dance, in front of Katya, about a couple in a long term relationship and someone cheats.

Hmmm depending what Krishnan does for couple's choice, and whether voters enjoy it, he could well be in the dance off with Adam? I'd expect the latter to struggle with Rumba. The other tricky one could be Bobby's Argentine tango...time will tell

Adam and Luba - American Rumba to Dancing On My Own by Calum Scott
Annabel and Johannes - Couple’s Choice to Wings by Birdy
Angela R and Kai - Waltz to Fascination by Nat King Cole
Angela S and Carlos - Samba to Ain’t It Funny by Jennifer Lopez
Bobby and Dianne - Argentine Tango to Sail by AWOLNATION
Ellie and Vito - American Smooth to Ain’t That A Kick In The Head by Robbie Williams
Krishnan and Lauren - Couple’s Choice to You Can Call Me Al by Paul Simon
Layton and Nikita - Jive to Shake Ur Body by SHY FX, T.Power, Di
Nigel and Katya - Tango to Nothing Breaks Like a Heart by Mark Ronson ft. Miley Cyrus
American Rumba is a first for me
Two CC in one week is not great. More manipulative VTs. And inevitable overmarking

Adam looks to be the one in trouble this week but he has been scoring around 32 for the last few weeks so with that sort of score it would need one of the contenders to take him out in the dance off. Annabel there will be the story about her recent bereavement and JoJo in ultra kind mode so she'll get a lot of public votes. Krishnan's couples choice will be interesting but I think he's got a lot of public support and certainly Angela R has.
We might find out how much support Angela S, Nigel and Bobby have as they have never scored as high in recent weeks as Layton and Ellie. Bobby and Nigel's scores are pretty similar to Adam's on average although I feel Nigel has been undermarked a couple of times.
I'll go with Adam and Krishnan in the dance off.

I found it quite moving on It takes two seeing Johannes and Annabel talk about putting together a dance that would honour her late husband. I know these things can feel a bit manipulative but this really didn't . I'll be interested to see how it comes across in the studio when you add in the Tess effect .

Yes, I saw that too. She's a very neat and clean dancer, so will be interesting if she can 'let go' when performing it.

Annabel has that elegant, upper class totty persona but whether she can do the emotional side and not get too emotional herself will be interesting to see. She is body confident and always has been and still looks amazing but whether she could do raunchy/passionate on a dance floor I don't know.
I think she will do a strong emotional dance this week, JoJo with his kindness and patience is the perfect partner to coax it out of her and give her a shoulder to cry on.

As Amanda Abingdon has withdrawn have they said what they are going to do? One week no one goes, series finishes a week early, 1 less couple in final?

One less couple in the final is what they usually do. No indication they'll do anything different this time

Annabel's dance had me in floods. It had a quiet power.
Am glad the lack of jive and rumba basics were acknowledged
Ellie should win this now.

I thought all couples were outstanding however for me, three dances really stood out.
Annabelle and Johannes- apart from the obvious, I just loved the way it flowed and seemed somewhat apt with relation to the VT. That was very emotional and kudos for opening up in such a way that she did. Very brave.
Ellie and Vito- Ellie looked beautiful and Vito very smart in his suit and tails, Very slick!
Krishnan and Lauren- probable not to the standards of others but that smile and such a fun routine to a great song.
The other couple that impressed were Adam and Luba. I'm just not a fan of the Rumba. I mean, I get it; the sensuality of it, but I have to say I enjoyed this one. Maybe because it was more contemporary.

Annabel, from the minute her segment started to the end, completely broke me. I think it’s one of those that deserved 10s based on making you feel every single piece of emotion in the story and dancing. I actually thought the dance was flawless so I’m not sure why the scores weren’t higher.
Bobby and Dianne, what was going on there 👀. I agree that the dance wasn’t great, he looked like he wasn’t 100% there mentally with it. But the end, it reminds me of Kim and grazianos Argentine tango from last year. 5 seconds more and things could have gone too far. I literally thought they had kissed.
Ellie deserved 40, Craig’s just doing that annoying thing where he won’t give a 10 until the last few weeks.
Angela S and Krishnan for the bottom 2, and I honestly think it might go either way. Angela R won’t go anywhere until Blackpool as it’s such a massive fix, so I expect the salsa and samba to be avoided for the next 2 weeks. Once she’s gone we are down to the best of the best.

Annabel’s dance was very emotional. Easily the dance of the night for me. I thought Johannes was very supportive throughout
Ellie has grown week by week and is one of my favourites to win

It feels as if Bobby has fallen for Dianne and that is now getting in the way
I think if they had explained that Adam was dancing an American Rumba and what the differences are, it might have gone better for him. It does feel unfair to face the Rumba the week after the dance off. But if you looked at it as an American Rumba then perhaps the more contemporary feel/lack of traditional basic steps might have not been subject to the same criticism.
We could be set for an Angela v Angela dance off.
And that is unpredictable.

Annabel’s dance was so emotional and beautiful, what a wonderful partner Johannes is.
Ellie is so good. A lovely partnership, her best dance this week, should have been 40.

I agree with oxfordsimon - I thought Bobby was going to kiss Dianne at the end of their routine! Annabel and Johannes - wow, so genuine and emotional. They have a lovely partnership and he is so supportive. They deserved 10s (but equally the score doesn’t count when it is such a beautiful routine with meaning). Ellie and Vito are such a strong team and growing every week. Worthy finalists. Interesting looking at how many likes each video has on the BBC Strictly Instagram page - at the moment Layton, Annabel, Ellie and Bobby have over 10,000 each with the others much lower.

I've no idea if Ellie can sing (she seems quite tuneful when messing about in rehearsal) but the way she's taken to the discipline of mastering new dance skills every week might signal a career in musical theatre could lie ahead if she wanted one. That American smooth wouldn't look out of place in Crazy for You or Top Hat.

Ellie was in the ensemble for the UK TV version of Sound of Music according to Wikipedia. So perhaps she can sing

I suspect the DO will be between Adam and Angela S this week. Personally I'd prefer to lose Angela R or Krishnan at this stage, but we all know the former is being kept in till Blackpool and Krishnan seems to be getting a lot of A* for enthusiam votes from viewers. Obviously Annabelle isn't going anywhere this week, but I'm not keen for her to stay in the competition much longer. She's very bland.
Ellie & Vito had the dance of the night for sure. I believe Layton when he says he is not finding Strictly easy and is working his ass off for those high scores rather than everything being a cakewalk for him as a lot of viewers assume. Him and Nikita continue to be a dream team. I really wanted Bobby & Diane's AT to be better than it was. Feel kind of bad for the kid. He's been overhyped.
