It's all gone very quiet, we can't surely have the rest of the year filled already...right?

The summer is basically all announced now, but there's a lot of shows that still haven't been announced coming up in the latter half of the year. We're just in a very quiet period.
Edit: first things that come to mind are the massive gaps at two LW theatres, the GL and TRDL. There's also the rumour that BTTF is not extending, so it could close in December, leaving three theatres at once not showing anything, which is basically impossible. There's likely shows booked in, we just don't know about them yet..!
I know Elf is rumoured for TRDL, but it'd have to be something independent from whatever is going on with that tour right now, so there's still an amount of mystery about what's going into where.
The latest stuff, I heard some speculation about a show that was due to transfer to a large theatre but plans were canned because of the pandemic. Apparently auditions were done recently.

I would imagine June or July will have a few announcements such as what's going in for other theatres in the Autumn such as the Old Vic's August-October production, the Duke of York's next tenants, the Trafalgar's next tenants as well as the two LW theatres.

I believe (I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong!) both TRDL and Gillian Lynne do have shows booked in, just not announced, and I can’t imagine Trafalgar would be empty for long after People, Places and Things.
Would be very intrigued if anyone knows what’s going into Duke of Yorks!

Theatre Royal Drury Lane: 2,196 Gillian Lynne: 1,024 Old Vic: 1,067 Duke of York: 653 Trafalgar: 636
Seat counts for reference for scale. Whatever's going into the LW venues are gonna be big sellers, and whatever's going in that Old Vic gap has to carry after the thing James Corden is doing. DOY and Trafalgar I don't know.

And we’re waiting on the Donmar too, which is empty from August.

The Bridge is also back in the business of new shows - their latest emails suggest that a new season of plays, from January, will be announced "soon."
Almeida needs a Christmas show - hopefully a heavyweight.
Kiln needs new programming post-Rubasingham in September.

And we’re waiting on the Donmar too, which is empty from August. It's Timothy Sheader's first season so it'll probably be announced along with other shows in June.

And we’re waiting on the Donmar too, which is empty from August. There's the rumour it's Great Comet. Probably part of the new season at some point. I can only speculate that whatever's going into Theatre Royal Drury Lane could be one of countless international transfers waiting to happen since the pandemic. There's so many shows that could go in there that I couldn't possibly list them all. For the GL, I've heard speculation it could be the return of Death Note in a limited run, coinciding with the cast recording release.

Within a day of posting about few theatres with unannounced shows, two have now been revealed. I should do this more often!

Possibly wild speculation but is there some corporate sponsorship coming in somewhere, perhaps Gillian Lynne? Say an airline with a big event (Palladium )and announcement week after next with an evening in GL for Sky's Edge afterwards. Venue sponsorship, or show sponsorship, something new. Anyone?

Could the Gillian Lynne be getting a remount/ return of a previous play? Wasn't there talk of a return run of Lehman Trilogy filling the gap at GL?

So... with the intel re: Hercules having come through... where does that leave us with Beetlejuice, now? Does anybody know if that's on the cards? It seems like such a good opportunity off the back of the sequel coming out.
And does anybody know where things are at with Shucked & Some Like It Hot?

There's little chance they'd rename the Gillian Lynne after an airline. It's not something we do here.

I was more wondering if a show might be sponsored or presented by or something like that (like Amex at NT or PWC at OV etc...)

It seems like such a good opportunity off the back of the sequel coming out. The last "official" intel was that they were trying to get in somewhere in 2023, but it was simply so packed in terms of schedule on the West End it wasn't able to get a feasible run in. (I believe Stranger Things coming around the end of the year at the Phoenix where it probably wanted to go was a big deterrent, but now we also know that Sunset would've knocked it flat anyways in awards season...) WB really won't let it go silently though, it's bound to arrive on the West End sooner than later. They strategically planned all these international productions of it to line up with the films release; I feel like it'd be a big mistake to not go to the West End.

Punch by James Graham I could see transferring to either the Duke of York's or Trafalgar Theatre. The shortish run of The 39 Steps makes me thing there is something planned for October.
