It says on NT at Home that it will be streaming soon. That, and the lack of announcement today, suggests to me there won't be a transfer. And yet, there are some social media handles in place which point to a further life and it was one of the NT's best reviewed shows in ages, with 2 Olivier nominations including Best Play, so it would be madness not to bring it back when so many still want to see it and others like myself want to go back with friends to see it again. Fingers crossed we'll hear something soon. It would go down a treat in @sohoplace, so I still have hope for this there post-Heathers! Maybe its trying to get the cast together if they can Soho Place after Heathers would be perfect spot for it Would fit it great! I think @sohoplace and the National Theatre could have a good working relationship.
What I was not-so-subtly implying earlier was I wonder if The Little Big Things has the possibility of going into the Dorfman maybe in late 2025/2026? If they're trying to bring the technology up to date in there.
Their partnership for the streaming release suggests to me there's a possibility of a future life with the support of the NT and @sohoplace.

Why would The Little Big Things go to the Dorfman? It lost money during its six month run and it was a commercial production, The reason it's on NT at Home is because the producers filmed it and sold it to NT at Home.

Transferring a show from a West End theatre to the National would be odd,no?

Just wishful thinking
Very excited for their Antigone. Can't wait for the title, The Other Place, to get muddled in my mind with The Other Place (Stratford-upon-Avon), The Other Place (by J.B. Priestley) and The Other Palace and so on and so forth.

Didn't they just reopen The Dorfman a decade ago? Getting funding for upgrades does seem like a win-win situation for them because that also omits having to schedule three or four shows in that space which may help ease their budget issues. Also, is this the first time that we're hearing that Antigone isn't actually Antigone, but a play based on Antigone? I don't seem to remember any of the press leaks or rumors talking about the fact that it was an adaption. Wasn't Icke rumored to be directing it at some point?

It was originally intended to be an adaptation. I think it’s changed during development to the point that it’s unrecognisable as Antigone. Also from a marketing/development side, it probably helps them fit their current brief of prioritising new work over the classics. Agreed about the Dorfman.

Keep seeing tweets from some theatre people that are then deleted literally seconds later teasing a long-awaited show announcement sometime in the week.
I feel like I'm going crazy. Anyone seen similar things/heard of anything?
No idea if maybe something went out to the press that got retracted due to the amount of news today, which caused the deletions.

It was from the usual suspects just saying "get ready for a long-awaited show announcement" and then each time it got deleted like seconds after and I forgot to screenshot it every time. I spent the last half hour trying to see if I left some tabs open with the tweets on there.
One of them was specifically worded "A lot of you have been waiting for this one..."
I have absolutely no idea what it could be, but it's been bugging me for the past few hours. I've been trying to scour Twitter to see if anyone else caught anything.
Unfortunately, this seems to happen to me a lot. I caught out that Heathers was going to @sohoplace about 5 days earlier and I wasn't sure if anyone else on the internet had seen that the page had gone up too early.
EDIT: literally as I press send reply I got a tweet that I saw that was deleted; from Mica Blackwell whom I follow, who tweeted about receiving news that was going to be announced tomorrow. Took a screenshot but I don't know how to upload images but I'll try and upload it.
EDIT EDIT: I wondered if it was unrelated, but they sent another tweet just now saying they're itching to reveal some theatre news in "this packed week". God knows what's going on now. I'm going to bed!

Expect an announcement around 2:30pm is what I've woken up to. No idea.
Edit: Likely was the Bonnie and Clyde film announcement.

Not one to normally feature in this thread but the first show in since Vault lost their home appears to have been confirmed. rhythmandruse.com/Immersive magic and music. Not cheap tho unlimited booze may offset that and no doubt lead to appearances in the bad behaviour thread.

It's still a big announcement! Been a long time since that was filmed and it finally coming out is a good thing. There's more news scheduled for today and within the week though.

Disney are workshopping something in the summer in London. I wonder if they intend to replace Frozen with another one of their repertoire.

I believe it's The Greatest Showman, with certain people attached. On an unrelated note, auditions may have happened recently for a show/transfer that was previously canned during the pandemic.

Sunday's rights went into a restricted mode when it was announced for a short while, and now they've gone back up, so I doubt rumours about it because it was so dependent on that cast coming over. There were a lot more shows meant to come over that were never formally announced, too many to count, so guessing is quite hard, unless info comes out. Still gutted I missed Regent's Park Evita, was ill at the time. Made up for it with the concert though

Please let it be City of Angels 😇 🙏 Yes, I'd really love this to return - ideally with Rosalie, Hadley, and Rebecca Trehearn attached again. Was gutted this never really got a good run due to Covid.
