Saw this last night at Woking, the audience looked to be pretty full. It's a fun show, definitely not the best show I've ever seen but didn't go in expecting it to be so was not disappointed. I enjoyed Laura Main as Fiona (probably because I'm a huge call the midwife fan) although her accent was a little inconsistent, sometimes Scottish, sometimes English& sometimes American. I thought she sang 'I Know Its Today' well but I was not really a fan of the staging with the puppets, especially when they all started singing on their own,in my opinion if they were not going to have the younger Fiona's during that song, they should have just had her with a book as if she is telling a story to the audience/herself. I sometimes struggled to understand what Shrek was saying in places but apart from that the rest of the cast was very good. Lucinda Shaw was a particular standout to me- what an amazing voice! I loved the dress Red Riding Hood was wearing, I got a little distracted in the first half though by Fiona's dress. On the skirt she had a largish white stain right in the middle of it, it looked a bit like toothpaste, would not like to imagine what else it could be . I went to stage door afterwards and met Laura Main who was lovely and chatted to us for about 15 minutes, mainly about 'Call The Midwife'. Overall I enjoyed the show, I don't think it is one I would rush back to see again but I am definitely glad that I went. I had watched the Broadway DVD ages ago but fell asleep about 20 minutes into it and woke up at the end so I don't really remember much of it - I wasn't bored by it I was just very tired. I will have to give it another watch soon I think and try to stay awake this time!

Watched this interview on facebook the other day and really enjoyed it especially the live performances, had never noticed how much taller Alice is than Sophie before though(not that it matters) they both towered over me when I met them, I was a short arse in trainers and they were both in heels as they were going to a party!

Matt Parsons has posted a few pictures of himself with Lauren Brooke on instagram saying its their last Oz Dust together, I may be jumping to conclusions but wasn't she bought in to cover Rosa's ensemble track? So I am now wondering if Sarah is coming back to finish out her contract as Nessarose?although Rosa won't have done her ensemble track for nearly a year now so would probably need to rehearse it again surely and wouldn't you just keep the extra swing just in case till cast change?

Didn’t you feel you could say anything? (Along the lines of... “They look like they need a bit of a rinse through...”? Sort of thing I say to my friend Laura on a daily basis when she insists on wandering round work barefoot (we work in a nursery with one year olds, our room is a shoe free zone, but I always wear socks or slippers) - the other day I asked what was all over her feet and she said 'just general grime'.
However I am not brave enough to say this to a stranger and have often been told that I apparently cannot glare so I doubt the look I gave her would have achieved anything!

I'm sure Woking theatre normally has quite good air conditioning was very hot and sweaty in there today!

Just got home from watching Karen and Kevin Clifton from Strictly Come Dancing's tour at Woking theatre (brilliant show - would definitely recommend if it comes near you) However during the show I lent back in my seat and got stabbed in the shoulder by a small pointy object, I turned round and the woman behind me had decided she should take off her shoes and place one bare foot on the back of my chair and the other on the back of my mums chair, the stabbing device was her very pointy big toe nail . I glanced up at her and she was sitting there in a short sundress with her legs wide open so we could see her knickers, I gave her a look but still her trotters remained on our chairs. I don't like feet, I know most people have them but please keep them away from me and definitely do not place them on my chair.

I listened to it on my phone as first I heard Yanny but then I heard Yanel... so I must just have really weird ears.

Just booked for the matinee on cast change day, me and my best friend had discussed going to cast change last time we were at the show but decided we'd probably only go if lots of the main cast were leaving, however she has just told me she is pregnant so we thought better get another trip in whilst we still can and cast change day seemed like the perfect opportunity!

When I was at Wicked the other day I went to stage door, the security guard was only there about 15 minutes and then he left! Which was a shame as he was quite nice to look at .

I have never seen Kinky Boots before but this casting makes me want to book! Thought Natalie McQueen was brilliant in Wonderland although I didn't really enjoy the rest of the show, have seen Oliver Thompsett once in Rock Of Ages and twice in We Will Rock You and thought he was absolutely brilliant each time, looking forward to seeing him play a different type of role. I also met him twice and he seemed like such a lovely man and really took time to talk to people at Stage door! Hopefully I will get a chance to see them in this at some point!

If Rosa's off (presumably sick) and Lauren James Ray is on, does that mean they would have to bring in yet another person to ask as emergency standby?

Saw the show last night, sat in our usual seats (D11 & 12 of the stalls). Apart from a single seat on either side of us the house appeared to be pretty much full from what I could see! The show was on great form and the sound issues that we had during our last visit (couldn't hear the singing over the music during the whole of the first half) seemed to have gone. Martin Ball was on as the Wizard and I really liked him in that part - would love to see him play that again. Russell Walker was on as Doctor Dillamond, I found him a little mumbly in places. I thought Alice was brilliant and really on top form, I enjoyed Sophie's performance which I thought had changed a lot since I last saw her back in August, then I found her characterization and certainly the voice really reminded me of Trixie from Call The Midwife, that element seemed to have gone now. Having seen her and Maria I don't think I could choose one whose performance I enjoyed more! I think Rosa is fantastic and has a brilliant voice for the small amount that she gets to show it - I would absolutely love to her Glinda one day!
Watching the show for a 3rd time I found myself noticing things I hadn't spotted before (things that other people probably spotted ages ago), for example Bradley in with ensemble and Rosa on the stairs during 'No One Mourns The Wicked'. I found myself focusing on the ensemble a lot more, particular standouts for me were James McHugh who I thought was a brilliant dancer and Kerry Enright who I was seeing for the first time, though all the ensemble are fantastic, from what I could see pretty much all the swings were on. Sophie's Act 1 wig seemed to have a life of its own last night and seemed to be getting more and more static as the show went on. During 'What Is This Feeling' Kerry's ShenShen wig was not stuck down properly and the taped bit on one side of her face was flapping about all over the place, it must have been quite distracting for her but she did not show it. From our seats at the side you could see into the wings quite easily and one of the ensemble boys (I could not see who it was) was twerking in his school uniform during the last part of 'Popular' after Elphaba has left the stage, it made me smile.
We went to stage door for the first time, we waited for quite a while as most of them were going to Joseph Fletcher's birthday party and were getting ready for that. I managed to meet Alice, Sophie, Bradley and Melanie who were all lovely. I almost met Rosa but someone else barged me out the way to get to her and then she got swamped by a crowd of people and then she was gone... I couldn't get over how tiny she is, she looks little on the stage but close up she is even smaller but manages to produce such a powerful voice (she was much smaller than me and I am definitely not tall). Overall a fantastic evening and I can't wait to go back again - hopefully in the Summer!

I'm sorting my plans for my visit next Saturday night, I'm planning on going to stage door which I have never done for Wicked before, I was wondering if anyone knew roughly how long Alice usually takes to come out? Obviously I know this can be different each night but was just looking for a rough idea so I can work it so I don't miss my last train! xx

I really wish I could have seen Louise as Elphie or Glinda, would have loved to have seen Kerry Ellis, Natalie McQueen was a real stand out for me in Wonderland even though I wasn't really a fan of the show I thought she was great in it so I would have loved to have seen her Green. Sophie Linder Lee is my favourite Columbia ever , I'm hoping she might play Janet on the new Rocky Horror tour as she took over the role for the end of the last tour, otherwise i would love to see her come back as Glinda! Would have also liked to have seen Gina Beck.
Thanks to Instagram I seem to have a minor obsession with the US tour cast which I know I will never get to see!

I really hope Alice stays (unless Jessica Vosk fancied coming over, but I doubt that would happen any time soon). I don't know why but I feel like Rosa might go but I am happy to be proved wrong.

A couple of years ago whilst watching Billy Elliot this extremely loud and obnoxious woman was sitting in front of us, she was noisily telling the people she was with that she was going to film it (there was an usher nearby at the time but they seemed quite oblivious to what was going on) she spent several minutes before hand faffing about with the lighting and settings on the phone, then she put it in the front pocket of her shirt, however at the interval when she took her phone out to check on it, she'd accidently clicked the front facing camera so she just had an hour and 20 minute(ish) video of her own chest, the sound had been quite bad that day and we had really struggled to hear what people were saying so the woman could not have even made a good audio recording from it , she was so pissed off about it and spent the interval swearing and muttering to herself, it did make us laugh. I was tempted to point out that you could buy a DVD of it quite cheaply but felt she would not have appreciated my helpful input.

Kerry is doing a nearly-3-week run at Zedel in September.... Just booked for this on the 15th of September, going with my mum! So excited to see Kerry perform, have been a fan of hers for as long as I remember, I love her albums and listen to them all the time but am yet to get a chance to see her live (booked very last minute tickets to see Wonderland last year without checking to see if she did matinees so I missed her) . Looking forward to seeing who her musical guests will be, I could imagine Louise Dearman making an appearance in at least one performance! My dream would be Brian May but maybe a bit of a small venue and I know Queen and Adam Lambert are touring later on in the year!

Over heard at Flashdance last night at the beginning when Alex Owens cycles on to the stage the old lady behind me said 'I never knew Joanne Clifton could ride a bike, she never did that on Strictly' - I suppose its a perfectly true statement, but how random!

Not really a Lulu fan, have always found her quite annoying, but I'm interested to see how she will play this part. Sad that Kristen Gaetz isn't staying - she was a brilliant Dorothy Brock, I enjoyed her more than Sheena though she did look a little young for the part!

This was a few years ago now, whilst in the queue for the toilets during the interval of Jersey Boys I heard someone say quite seriously something along the lines of; 'The Four Seasons look really good for their age don't they' to which the person they were with replied with something like 'they're actors not the real people' to which the first person replied with 'are you sure? I think your wrong'

I don’t know who was on for Elphaba last night looking at the most recent comment. But Amy Fisher was on tonight and absolutely nailed the vocals and her acting was brilliant. I’m not sure how old she is? She seems very mature in her performance but perhaps facially younger than the average Elphaba! If this is what she can do now I can’t imagine what she will be able to do in the future. Wow, a star in the making! I think it was a double understudy performance - Glinda and Elphaba were a perfect match. Both deserve praise for their performances this evening! I am ptretty sure she is 22
