I wonder how they’ll adapt the set for tour?
It seems quite hard to transport the crystal drops and all the mechanics to make it fly into a circle!!
Also, how will do the microphones (as they come out of the stage in London) on tour? Will they track on further upstage?
I reckon the physical dimensions won’t change, as the Savoy stage is relatively small comapred with major regional houses! Does this mean that due to the smaller size it could visit smaller receiving venues?

They’ll have to redesign the suspended mirror scene because there’ll be no revolve on tour. In the US, Hamilton had a revolve on tour!! What doesn’t say 42nd can’t have one as well?!?

I can’t see Sherman packing the audiences in over a long period somehow. I’d hope that the setback with Poppins can give Waitress or Hansen the opportunity to transfer. What is the setback for Poppins? Is the Adelphi stage big enough for a huge house or will the it be the pop up tour version? I recken Hansen or Mean Girls will transfer to the Savoy!

^As above. Was relieved when I saw it. At Cinderella they themed it with a castle. Was mildly concerned how they would theme it to a title like "Dick Whittington." Luckily, they went with bells... What will it be for Snow White? Castles again?

Is Qdos doing more pantomimes at the Palladium after this year’s? it was a three year contract and this is the third year- that said, I'd be very surprised if, given the success that they have enjoyed, they didn't do another one. Unless the Palladium have a long runner lined up, in which case I would expect Qdos to seek an alternative venue. What could their alternative venue be ?

What do you think the set will be like since The Other Palace isn’t a traditional Pros. theatre?

This doesn't surprise me! The only people I could see potentially leaving are Martin Ball, Sarah McNicholas (if she returns) and maybe Bradley Jaden? The rest are here to stay which is a shame! 😞 (With the exception of the fabulous Melanie La Barrie!) Oh I love that you can see Sarah leaving when she hasn't been in the show for nine months! 😂😂 What actually happened with Sarah?

Hopefully this year's Panto will be sure to lead into a "White" Christmas. Kenwright's White Christmas for a limited run? Sorry folks, panto is cancelled. When is White Christmas running then?

I don’t have as much against Carrie as some but she really isn’t right for this part I’m sure the show’s writers/casting directors know what they want from a women playing Veronica, so they must have reasons for choosing her. Obviously, if she wasn’t right for the role then she’d wouldn’t have been cast!

Just a quick question...
Are the US and UK Tour sets different sizes? (As in stage footprint)
If the US Tour is being based off the Gershwin Theatre set (bigger than the Apollo Victoria’s set) then surely it would be bigger?
Also, regional venues in the US are generally larger so they can accommodate large sets.

Still no Cardiff?? Trip to Bristol for me then. They still haven’t announced where the tour is going during August 2019! There seems to be some strange gap between the Sunderland Empire (24 June - 6 July 2019) and then Mayflower Southampton (3-14 September 2019)! Maybe there is a possibility that the tour is visiting Dublin and Cardiff during August - maybe the theatre haven’t confirmed yet so they can’t tell the public yet.

Yep, second tour is happening! Late 2018/early 2019 I believe is when it kicks off, so an announcement can't be too far away. Do you think Carrie will reprise her role as Wednesday?

It also looks like, from pictures that I’ve seen, the fairly realistic flat of the outside of the factory is just a projection on tour? Am I correct? I think it’s just a well painted cloth

westended Blood Brothers for one. Frequently on tour may have been a better way of phrasing it, there's definitely shows that seem to tour every year or two. Maybe it's just because there tends to be a fair few months gap between shows visiting venues around here that makes me feel they're always on tour. Thanks for explaining:) Blood Brothers keeps touring as they probably want a permanent home back in the West End? I think 9-12 month run at the Playhouse Theatre would be good. People would flock to see it - it’s such an iconic play!

I'd love to see Book of Mormon, Dreamgirls and Half A Sixpence tour. I'd also really like that Memphis tour to happen! That's the one show I never got to see in London and really wish I had. As for the touring market I'd just quite like it to continue how it has been for the past year or so. There seems to be a good mix of 'new' shows, ones that haven't toured for a fair few years and then the ones that seem to constantly be on tour. What shows are constantly on tour?

I hadn't even realised that the tour in the US had gone from a 1st to a 2nd tour, when did it change ? and what are the differences in the set ? I've seen a video of the tour online before and it looks identical to Broadway. cheesy116 , The 2nd US Tour is more flat in a way to the first US Tour and the Broadway set. The sides of the factory and fashion show aren’t diagonal like the set we know. The set has more borders and flats so they can be transported and rigged easily. (Sorry, I would insert pictures but I don’t know how to!)

Will the UK/Ireland Tour set be similar to the 1st US Tour set or the second tour? The second tour set is more simple and easier to tour with, but since it is the first UK tour maybe they will splash out on the set?
Also, why are tours of musicals more frequent (ie more than 1 tour in a few years) than shows in th UK.?

I would LOVE to see Dreamgirls tour! It’s not a complicated set to tour, will fit into most regional venues and I’m sure people up and down the country will love it!

Think it's about time The Book of Mormon toured. DEFINITELY! Surely it’s an easy show to tour? Not much set is there?
