I think I’ve finally done myself an injury watching Hamilton. I must have clapped so hard after One Last Time that I’ve bruised my hands!
Sifiso on as Hamilton tonight but otherwise all main players. It really was the Tarrin Callender show tonight however. He was just on fire with his expressions throughout and had everyone laughing. Lots of tears too - never seen Giles not be able to make it through a couple of lines at the end of The World Was Wide Enough due to emotion.
Jon-Scott Clark (beardy Swing) did step forward at the end for some extra applause, then the rest of the guys jumped on him as they were all exiting the stage. Really wish I could be there on Saturday.

I quite like some songs with Adele’s voice on record, but live she is very patchy. That dreary version of Fastlove she did at the Grammy Awards in tribute to George Michael was an insult to the song.

Going for my 4th time in January and taking my Dad this time for his birthday treat. Really expecting him to love this.

Blew my current account with a new iMac - my 10 year old one finally went completely dead two days ago, just in time. Very luckily the issues I’ve had with it before forced me to run the whole thing from an external hard drive, so there should be no problems with data transfers this time. Only saved about £190 via various deals and voucher codes with John Lewis but it’s something.
Got some lovely deals on bedsheets at Debenhams.
Theatre deals quite slim pickings this year.

It’s open for the whole week, right? Think I’ll just come back tomorrow.

I agree too. My Shot, Helpless and Yorktown would have been far better to perform to give a representation of the show without giving away any plot, and still using all of the cast. It makes no sense to do the same song as they did at the Oliviers.

They need to announce the extension first if they want to “sell” it to more people who haven’t yet heard much about it.

Oh God, I’m already going for the new cast day but I couldnt resist when I saw a bunch of Row B stalls open up for 27th November. I just wanted to see the original cast one last time (no pun intended).

Well the gods have been kind to me today. It's a rather significant birthday for me today and all my friends seem to be busy so I was going to be "Billy no mates" but thanks to Today Tix managed to secure a rush ticket for tonight. So Bobbi and I can celebrate together. Happy Birthday! This is exactly my plan on my birthday too.

I take it none of them can book a holiday during those four months, as it’s seemingly built around their names rather than the show.

The worst one I had was a young woman who genuinely looked in distress, saying she had just been attacked and needed some money to get home. The first time I gave her money as she was a very good little actress. Then the same girl cornered me at the station a week later, and then again a few minutes down the road a few days after that. I did tell her to find another area to scam in as she clearly didn’t recognise her marks.

I think Louis can sing too. He auditioned for X Factor before he found fame as a gymnast.
Still this looks terrible.

A friend has an American friend visiting and we wanted to take him to shows that aren’t really playing elsewhere. So far he’s done Jamie, Hamilton (just because it’s easier here) and we went to this last night. It was my third time but first without the original Mischief Theatre troop. Really quite impressed with the current cast as I was expecting it to have lost some of its zing, but still a belly laugh throughout.
I’m still trying to convince another group of friends and colleagues to come as I think it would be right up their street. No luck so far.

I think the album sounds fab, but the documentary made me feel a bit icky. It was a little too intimate, and I felt like I shouldn’t be watching these moments of her talking about her father and family.
Also, you certainly do get places in London that serve chips and gravy.

I went to a show just the other day where my ticket was a laminated piece of card that I had to give back when I entered. Also I'm pretty sure the show I saw later that same day didn't even *have* tickets, 'cos now I think about it I don't remember them actually giving me anything when they ticked my name off the list..... Tristan Bates Theatre?

I only saw it once at The Other Palace and the audience really put me off trying to see it again. I was overall underwhelmed by it, however thought the cast were very talented. I usually go twice to a show if I have ever had any particular interest towards it and I'd been curious about this for some time, but it truly was a nightmare. The fangirls and boys were screaming like I've never heard at a theatre. It's definitely a cult show, because the enthusiasts seem to drive everyone else away.

It was pretty empty when I went in June on a Wednesday evening, but that was during the heatwave and everyone was just super uncomfortable. This is my favourite time of year to go as it delays sticking the heating on at home for a while, so I've decided to go tonight on a whim - my 14th time but my housemate has never seen it and wants to come, so err, that's my excuse. No tickets yet but I have £20 of theatre tokens and will see what they have at the Box Office after work.

677 unsold tickets for tonight's performance, excluding the allocations any ticket agencies have. London Theatre Direct have lots that aren't on ATG. I'll probably end up counting them too. Can you tell I'm wasting time at work?
Do you check this often? I imagine they sell quite a few during the day at the TKTS booth.

Why anyone would pay to watch fireworks is beyond my comprehension. Is it like theatre in that they’re more spectacular in person than on a TV screen? Actually quite the opposite I suspect. My worst NYE ever was the year I was dragged into the centre of London to stand on a bridge to watch them, then spent the next two hours trying to get home through a sea of tourists.

I’ve actually found the process of entering the theatre via the ticketless system a lot more swift and organised than the regular way. I suppose it’s because everyone is using the same method and there are staff making sure people have their cards and ID out much earlier in the line, rather than a mixture of people collecting at the box office, standing in doorways waiting for friends, not having their tickets out etc.

I get confused over the sub genres, particularly the million and one Dance ones as well as Rock. Like for instance, I know I like Hard Rock and Soft Rock, and I know I have a general distaste for Indie Rock, but I can’t really explain why or what it is I like and don’t like about them.

There are just too many scenes of them arguing how in the studio, with some dubious “songwriting sessions”.
I thought the performances were good in general particularly Malek, but the pacing was very strange. It’s almost instant that they’re suddenly on TOTP with a Top 5 hit and an offer to do a huge US tour within weeks of getting a record deal. I don’t really think it happened like that.
I’m all for a bit of artistic licence, but Freddie’s death is so recent and so ingrained in my memory of growing up, the fact that they had him announcing his illness to the band during the Live Aid rehearsals when he wasn’t even diagnosed until a couple of years later, well it put a dampener on Live Aid at the end. I did however see this on a Screen X projector where the concert and performance scenes were all projected in panoramic view onto the sides of the room, so the Live Aid scene at the end was quite spectacular as I felt like I was literally in the middle of it all. Recommended if anyone has the chance to get to one of those screens.

a child no older than 5 ran up to us on Villiers Street with a bucket saying Trick or Treat. We couldn't see an adult in sight following him. Such a strange place to do it. Hope you checked your pockets immediately, ellie1981. Sounds like classic distraction robbery tactics to me. Nope, all clear on that front. My non cash carrying mate did however ask him if he accepted Apple Pay.

The commercial plastic trashfest of begging and criminal damage that is now Halloween can knob right back off to the USA where it belongs.
Last night my friend and I came out of Charing Cross Theatre around 9pm, and a child no older than 5 ran up to us on Villiers Street with a bucket saying Trick or Treat. We couldn't see an adult in sight following him. Such a strange place to do it.

Fireworks - never liked them. Even as a child I somehow knew they were stupidly expensive and every time one went off I could just imagine money exploding into the air that could be used for something actually fun. If I want to see an amazing fireworks display I can easily close my eyes and dream one up, like when you win a game of Solitaire on an old PC. Humbug.
