You need glamorous and charasmatic for Mame. Patrick is a very minor role unless its the Young Patrick. I do not see all the fuss about Sheridan she was fine in Funny Girl but to me not memorable. However I could see Natasha Barnes as Agnes Gooch. Orfeh could be either Mame or Vera. Peter Davison as Beau.

I just do not understand why the ability to sing very loudly or riff equates to talent. Not seen the production but its always similar. Whether its Effie singing And I Am Telling You or Elphaba singing Defying Gravity. To me these are terrific belters but does not make them the best best talent. It makes them able to belt in the specific role. Effie is designed to be a showstopper as is Ephaba.

No shame on me. Using Isis as a threat for parts in a movie is sad. If you said opportunities in all walks of life one thing not that. Do you realize how many actors are unemployed all the time? I really do not care that he was speaking before Parliament it was utterly self serving. Do not give our young people a part in movies or we will turn to Isis and kill you is basically what he said. No shame on me for my feeling at all.

Saying that unless they create more movie roles for young people of diversity they will turn to ISIS is a bit much though. What a stupid thing to say. I did not know him before but not so sure I want to now.

Half a Sixpence hmmm. It won a great many Whatsonstage awards but I saw it and was not impressed. I really have no idea what was so special. Charlie Stemp, I have no idea why he won all he does is smile. He can dance well but no idea why that should be an award. My opinion. You will find some who like it very much and some like me who find it ok but I am very glad I paid 15 pounds. And the theatre is uncomfortable.
As far as a hotel goes basically I would say it goes by your budget (which seems ample) and what you intend to do.
American in Paris is at the Dominion and I am sure you will be able to get tickets for that.

If you think back, the scenes aside from the ones featuring townspeople, really do not have that may people on stage at once. But please do not make a production number of putting on the Ritz like they did in the original production. That was one of the things I really got annoyed with.

I saw it the first week of previews and was totally disappointed. Wooden acting, especially by Darius. The women were all sluts and Darius had absolutely no chemistry with anyone. Never expected the beach scene to be great but terrible I was not expecting. You walked out of the theatre and every song was gone from your head. Actually none of the actors impressed me which is why I was surprised that RD Wilson is now Aladdin. Darius' height and style actually helped his characterization in Funny Girl but not to the point of wanting to see him in something else.

They are releasing more seats from early in the run as well. The APV is 2300 seats compared to 1300 at the Richard Rogers. The RR is more intimate not sure how that will play in nosebleed seats.

Groff was first. Rannells replaced him. I do not think an animated character or someone from the Girls would be considered a name. Rannells also did Hedwig. He is very talented but a name to sell a show in the WE no. The tv shows you mention were and are not exactly watched by many people. Especially The Girls. I do not think a SNL player would be name recognition either.
As an out there name I could see Daniel Boys giving the right kind of delivery. Its who LMM thinks can be "out there" and likeable enough. I think you can find a british actor.

What big names did Broadway have? LMM was not that big then. Jonathan Groff was in Glee so probably the most exposure.

I have no idea who he is either. Has he ever done a musical?
I also meant to say New York or Chicago.

There really is no star casting in either NY or Broadway. LMM became the star because of it. He was not that big big star after In The Heights.

I don't know why but I'm fully expecting Michael Ball to be announced as King George. No No No. That would be as bad as Alfe Boe. Besides he could not use his blessed vibrato. Actualy John would be brilliant but he has signed a 2 or 3 year deal with the CW and it is one thing to take off a couple of weeks for Panto when the shows are shut down, but a complete run is quite different. Also I am not sure the amount of actual stage time would suit him.

That would have been a totally different panto then. Where innuendo, subtility and class was used in the current show, with Whoopi it would have been curses and anything but class. You can't have it both ways. Just a shame they could not have come to a happy medium (no pun intended) with someone else. I found Amanda Holden by far the weak link in the cast. She was not even funny in the If I was not in pantomime bit. Stiff wooden and in a dressing gown. How she got a new show is beyond me.

It came from Hamilton London and distinctly says you cannot use the Ticketmaster App. and that the code you get is for a one time use.

She is wrong because nothing about her says 'Cinderella' to me. And Prince Cgarming could have had a spark about him in someone else's hands- something beyond Lee Mead. Your views about Lee Mead have been around for years. You do not and never will like him. Tiresome.

I saw this the other night and it was pretty bad. The script is terrible and the running length is a real problem. It's so unnecessary. It's clearly padded out to accommodate Paul Zerdins act (ironicallythe best thing in the show) Amanda Holden wasn't great but she looked great and not even Judi Dench could make her dire dialogue work. Count Arthur Strong appalling. Was his limp a 'character choice' or is it him? Julian Clary was great value.. and his costumes are spectacular. Lee mead as limp as a dishcloth (as usual) Natasha Barnes totally wrong for Cinderella and I felt sorry for her that she was cast in this. They'll have to do a better job than this next year. Also why is EVERYTHING SO LOUD THESE DAYS?!!! Turn it down sound desk Amanda Holden is terribe. She cannot sing or dance and just hearing her grated on me. She had no comic timing in the one comic skit she was in. I like Paul Z but does he need two acts. The Prince and Cinderella are the straight characters in this. Remember those? The straigtmen. So limp and wrong is wrong. Or should everyone just be full on. Way to much Julian.

I thought the original movie was stupid. If I remember it right the son who only lost his mother a little over a year before is trying to set up his father on a date. One year and the son is up for a new mom. I do not think that was, is or will be realistic. I may have been in the few but did not like it so cannot possibly understand a musical around it.

Personally I just wish I had liked it more. For me it was just meh with a lot of singing and dancing. And really I could not understand the sustained SO for Charlie Stemp. He is fine, but not someone I would say I must go see this show to see him in it.

Prince Charming is the straight man. Would you want him to mug his way thru the show and then have Julian's Dandini on top of that. When Julian Clary is Dandini that is what is going to happen he is even overpowering Paul O. How many over the top characters do you want in one panto. You need the straight man. Poor Cinderella also has very little stage time. I would have loved another duet.

Big bosoms and beautiful because she certainly was not big in the literal terms. They should have put a bit of padding on her.

It's a wonderful show and the price for tickets goes to the talent rather than CGI effects. Also since there are no children you are paying a full cast, not local children. Everyone had a star turn. Could have done with a bit more of Lee Mead and Natasha Barnes as the Prince and Cinderella, they are in great voice and have wonderful chemistry, but it was expected that Paul O Gray and Julien Clary would have the most "face time". Paul Zerden's Buttons is very funny as is Nigel Havers' Lord Chamberlin.
It will not go on offer but book thru the actual site to save fees. In the upper circle you will still have a good view.
It may be 3 hours but the time Flys by.

Alfie in this would be worse than Carousel. Actually they are on par. While I have heard he is a nice guy he is really too operatic for many MT productions. He has no life in his acting. Alfie fans will go to see him in Carousel but for me he is as far from a Carnival Barker who attracts women as you can get. He did not get a following on Broadway for either LM or FN. I rather doubt he would be going back there anymore.

Alistair has a very pronounced vibrato. It is never going to change.
