To be fair I took my Korean friend to see Wicked, and he stood up at the interval, put his coat on "wow that was good" and all that He thought it was over If I wasn't with him he would've left! I wonder how many tourists leave unknowingly at the interval of shows... What did he think of Act 2 after being forced to stay for it? Haha I can't remember As Long As You're Mine is my Wicked favourite, so Act 2 is at least good for me I think in Wicked's case especially, Defying Gravity is such a huge huge Act 1 finale, even compared to other theatre shows, I'm not surprised he thought it was over

Saw this tonight. 3.5/5
1. Row G of the Royal Circle is a bargain. Secluded and great view, managed to get ticket for £5.50 after discount!
2. Fantastic lead performance and singing, however I thought it could be more upbeat? I wouldn't like to see it again. It didn't reach any finale or climactic finish as one would hope at the end of a show. I liked the dog. It should be titled DOG & LADY DAY.
3. The seats on the stage are daylight robbery! You would have to pay me to sit there...

I do want to go to these but as I understand it's just a reading?
So not staged at all?

Can't wait to see the screening of this after seeing it live! Now get to enjoy all the details.
From what I can see this is the biggest piece of event cinema this year? Sold out practically everywhere!
Congrats to ROH

If Jonas Kaufmann smothered me with a pillow I would be 100% ok with it.

Kaufmann was great tonight. I don't think he was underpowered I think the orchestra was too loud. Desdemona also sounded beautiful. I for one liked the staging, very dramatic, except for the rolling IKEA bed stage thing. I watched the whole ending scene like noooooo who is going to clean all that blood, all those white sheets!! Unrelated - during the interval there was a French guy complaining how bad Italian singers sound when they sing French opera "Pavarotti this blah blah" & apparently he's got tickets for every performance of JK Otello. I was just rolling my eyes like SOME PEOPLE ~ ...can't please everyone

I love the look of a perm but for some reason half the time it doesnt work on my hair i think they have to use the super strength stuff I remember one time I had a perm in Hong Kong and it didnt work and they tried to explain it was because I wasnt asian...
