I was bored late last night so worked out that the average price I’ve paid for a theatre ticket this year is £30, across 31 shows seen this year. Considering how crazy ticket prices can be I’m pretty chuffed that I seem to have managed to be pretty bargain-savvy this year! If anyone else is as bored as me and has the info to work it out (and doesn’t mind sharing!) I’d love to find out how much on average we’ve all spent on a theatre ticket this year.

TodayTix Boxing Day sale has started, selection of shows is not too bad but a lot of the usual suspects are up there! Seat allocations again are just okay but still worth a look, I’ve managed to pick up Row T stalls for City of Angels for £20 and Row Y stalls for Prince of Egypt for £30 so pretty happy.

Does anybody have a full understudy list from the programme or somewhere else?

Much as I love Marisha I’m fuming at this! I went to her “last show” especially thinking it to be her last show and to catch her a second time and sacrificed the chance to ever get to see Kelly Agbowu as Becky and now she’s bloody coming back three months later 😂

Worth mentioning that the GILT sale has tickets for most of Sara’s run at £40 front stalls and circle and £30 for slightly further back. A steal considering it’s Sara I think, I was worried they were going to be stingy with discounts!

I really don't understand why they would get a Dawn who can't sing, especially when it's not even a case of star casting. Same with Sandra, her acting is good but her voice is far from strong enough for the material and her IDPI was disappointing. The show doesn't have the quality that it had with the OGs and if they want to film it with Sara and Gavin (which I think they should) they really have to step up their casting game. I haven’t seen Hannah but I have to disagree as far as Sandra goes, I thought she had a great voice. You have to have pipes to play Motormouth Maybelle so she’s definitely more than just a good actress in my opinion.

Lucie Jones has a project coming up on the 16th of February (a Sunday!) with LMTO so it could well be this but the way she got fans to sign up to hear news makes it sound like it’s something solo rather than part of a bigger project.

Makes sense that it could be a concert as said and in early 2020 maybe? Lucie seemed to hint that she has a few things coming up in her break from Waitress

Sarah appears to have announced she is leaving, so I guess her last show overall will be 4th January alongside Sandra. Where has she said this?

Laura on this afternoon, really do feel for Nikki. Haven’t seen Laura before though so interested to see what she’ll bring to the role.

Sandra’s just announced her last show will be the 4th of January, what a short run! I wonder what she’s got planned next, would have said back to Hairspray if they hadn’t already announced Marisha.

How long were these night caps usually when PTM organised them at The Other Palace? I really want to see Samantha Barks live but the theatre’s so far from any tube station and there’s the South Western Railway strikes to mess everything up.

I’m back at the show for the first time in over a year on Wednesday, the longest break I’ve ever had from Wicked since first seeing it. I haven’t actually seen the West End production since seeing Willemijn around Easter 2017 so I think I’ll feel like Norma Desmond returning to Paramount on my way into the Apollo Vic! I especially hope that Nikki and Alistair are on but preparing myself that Nikki might not be, just hope she’s looking after herself. I got Row ZB stalls for £29 on an agent deal, a better deal than todaytix Cyber Monday, which offered me one row in front for £5 more. Are there binoculars for rent in the rear stalls? I know there are in the circle but I forget stalls-wise?

Is there anything concrete on whether Rachel’s doing another year or not? One minute I’m hearing people saying she’s staying and doing her other projects around the show and the next I’m hearing people saying she’s leaving, mentioning a last show on the 8th of February.

This seems about as likely as Patti doing Sunset again but god if it did happen I think my heart would give out from excitement.

Booked closing night. This show is so special to me but I knew it wouldn’t be here forever but I’ll be sure to catch the tour many times and be back to the West End plenty more before the end.

I wonder if Waitress could possibly transfer to a smaller theatre to make way for Dolly? It seems to be doing better now and they’ll probably keep stunt casting and of course we all agreed from the start it could thrive more in a smaller theatre. I know it’s probably not very likely but it’s possible depending on theatre availability.

The ticket lottery for this was pretty easy, I’m all booked for Stalls S6 next Wednesday. So excited! Good For you. I suppose it was easy for you because you were selected as winner. I was kept on hold, the walking man paused a few times and after about 25 mins I got the message it was now closed. Last week I won it, I was directed to the website, selected the date and it offered me the seats. It also had an option to reject the seats, which I did, hoping for a better one. At that point I could not select anything else. I tried to select different dates and it just froze. So even though I won the lottery, I could not book tickets. There is always next week. Or the one after LOL Oh I’m very sorry to hear that! I said it was easy because I entered on my phone and laptop with different emails and I got through on both after a few minutes wait and then logged off one straight away so I assumed the demand must have been low. Hope you do get lucky with it very soon.

Sarah is fantastic, maybe my favourite Jenna out of the three (not seen Olivia). This is the quickest I’ve been back but it feels like a whole new show with Sarah. David changes up his portrayal a bit when she’s on too. Sandra’s great too, very different Becky to Marisha. More later!

I’m back at the diner for a fourth visit tonight especially to see Sarah O’Connor as Jenna. I remember seeing Sarah as the Mistress in Evita nearly 3 years ago when I was pretty new to theatregoing and I was stunned by her voice, she was one of the highlights of the show. Seeing her now leading my second favourite musical is going to be a special full-circle moment. Is Sarah going to be on all week do you know?! 👍 Not all week but she is on again for both shows on Saturday 😊

I’d guess they’ll definitely want Christine back for this and from reading her interview in the programme she wants to do more classic MT. Jac should also just about be able to squeeze it in before starting Joseph again. I’m guessing they’ll have Jodie Jacobs back after the great reception she got at the concert and I’d love to see Mazz Murray in this again but I assume she’ll still be in Mamma Mia.

All I’ll say is the dayseaters better not be throwing the cupcakes onto the stage later tonight... Why would they? Is something bad happening? 😂 When Heathers was in the West End people used to throw scrunchies at the cast in the bows and then at some point some front-row crazies took it even further and bought cupcakes for the cast and placed them on the stage during the curtain call
