Performances cancelled from today until 7th August due to Track & Trace legislation.... what an absolute nightmare the theatre world is right now.

Christina will be excellent in this. Shame about the venue selection though, there's nothing near me 😩
Age-wise Christina is about 5 years older than Jane Horrocks was in the film. Jane was 28 at the time of the stage version.

Great news! It will sell, but having it on a Tuesday may not get as many people in as Jeremy's weekend concerts did. Exciting though. I'll be going.
Laura was due to do her Broadway Princesses concert at the Leicester Square Theatre before Covid, I wonder if she'll do that as well while she's here for B&C.
Also 'prices from £32.50'.... wait for the inevitable big numbers to be revealed!

I’m tempted to go see this at the Curve theatre next week, there’s loads of tickets left so does anyone know if the curve does like a discount on the day, like rush tickets ? www.curveonline.co.uk/whats-on/shows/magic-goes-wrong/or should I just go for it and pay full price Thanks I've never known Curve do day discounts I'm afraid, but you could always ring the box office and ask, they can only say no 😀 also if you want to save a few pennies, you could go for one of the cheaper seats, as the Curve doesn't really have any bad views.

Just watched the first one - for anyone who hates musicals, it'll be hell, but it's lovely for the rest of us. It captures the musicals of the Hollywood Golden Age really well. Awesome cast as mentioned above. It could be funnier and it needs a bit of sharpening up, but the ensemble numbers are great and it definitely has potential 👍

Probably Glenn Close in Sunset, Ian McKellen in his recent tour, Danny DeVito in The Sunshine Boys and Bradley Cooper in The Elephant Man.
Also Kylie, Mariah and Gladys Knight if we're venturing off the theatrical stage 💖

I swear there was thread on this last year but I'm damned if I can find it 🤣
Anyway, it's back on, 22 October to 27th November. Ako Mitchell, Jacqui Dankworth and Norman Bowman starring.

I'll be volunteering for it at the Derngate in Northampton at the beginning of August so can report back then unless anyone else is going sooner.
Normally it's such a fantastic show but I am worried if it's been cheapened this time and lost its sparkle.

I was going to say, of all the jukebox musicals, this is one of the least clunky. It's well written and the songs actually fit, rather than all that Mamma Mia shoehorning.

The instrumental reprise of 'With One Look' that gorgeously leads into 'As If We Never Said Goodbye' in Sunset Boulevard 😍

Marisha will be fine, she's a pro. And not to do her a disservice, but Motormouth Maybelle isn't really a massive role other than 'IKWIB', it's not like doing Effie again.

Rachel Tucker really butters my muffin so I would like to book this However can't assign a seat when booking a ticket... I don't like that Yeah it's playing in The Little which doesn't have seat numbers, they change the layout for every production and you just sit wherever you want when you get there. Just get there 10 minutes earlier than you would normally and you'll be fine. Rachel is always worth it 😁

Three newly-orchestrated symphonic suites from a selection of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s best loved musicals – Evita, The Phantom of the Opera and Sunset Boulevard – will be performed for the very first time by the 81-piece Andrew Lloyd Webber Orchestra at London’s Royal Festival Hall on 8th September.
The Symphonic Suites will also tour the UK during 2022. Accompanied by local orchestras, these dates include Manchester Bridgewater Hall on 17th September 2022, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on 18th September 2022, Cardiff St Davis’ Hall on 24th September 2022, Nottingham Royal Concert Hall on 30th September 2022 and Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on 1st October 2022.

Big changes this year, with Zoe leaving ITT as well and being replaced by Janette (who I wonder if she's newly pregnant and that's why she's presenting and not dancing?).
So with no Anton or Janette dancing, will we see some new pros? Or just promotions of the likes of Graziano and Neil?

Yeah maybe it was illness. I've never seen Tim in anything, he was completely new to me so have nothing else to compare it to, so hopefully he was just having an off-day. Let's see what the Boarders who are going next week think, maybe he'll be back on track by then 🤞

I do however need to know where Jessica Daley has been all my life, because she was the absolute highlight for me, every note was just phenomenal. I watched Over The Rainbow last year and I don't even remember her on that show. She's worth the ticket price on her own. Maybe shared with the lighting rig. I think she had a different surname (and different hair colour) on that show. Slightly off topic, but I presume you've seen this? I thought it was lovely. It's so good isn't it. I know all of those shows got a lot of criticism but I love how many great voices they found. Between the Marias, the Nancys, the Josephs, the Jesuses and the Dorothys, they found some first-class talent, many of whom are still going strong today.

I'd go as far as to say that Jessica is actually even more impressive than Carrie. I got the feeling she'd be a more natural actress (judging from her Unexpected Song performance) and her vocal tone was just gorgeous. Those LND notes!!

I agree on the lovely Johnny. He can do character-driven 'acting-singing' (he was very good in The Last Five Years and of course Company), but he's not got the rich belt needed for this. If only Oliver Tompsett was 15 years younger.... 15 years? You do realise that Aaron Tveit is 37 and not a toddler? I do realise that. Aaron has a very young face though and doesn't read anywhere near 37. Christian is supposed to a hopeless naive romantic with no world experience, he should be played by a younger actor (as great as Aaron is).
