Great news and I'll probably go, but it's a big stretch to fill the Palladium. She has no name recognition outside of the Broadway world, which is always a lot smaller than we realise it is!

Yeah VHB was off (I'm almost certain as I've seen VHB before and would've recognised her). Whoever the stepmother was looked uncannily like Bianca Del Rio.
The whole thing is just massively misjudged, uneven, with no clear idea of what it wants to be. There's maybe 20 minutes of a decent musical in there, surrounded by 2 hours of rubbish.

OK positives....find some positives.... fabulous costumes, fantastic set particularly with the rotating stage for the ball, Rebecca Trehearn and Georgina Onuorah both sounded great.
I think that's it.
A badly written, overacted, tuneless mess of a show. A pantomime with a budget, delusionally believing itself to be something greater. Unfunny, crass, overlong, with only the faintest traces of ALW's former glory. I paid £39.50. I want the £39 back.

Has Dance Ten, Looks Three survived unscathed? Indeed it has and it's one of the highlights, delivered brilliantly 😁

Divina is in panto near me which I've just had a press invite for...I know they're very different acting styles but I'll see how she does in that before committing to Hedwig!

Exciting! Random question but worth a shout - I'm reviewing this on press night and they've allocated me two tickets, does anyone want to come along for a freebie? Tuesday 7th December, 7.30pm start. I won't know where the seats are until I get there but they'll be top price. There's no interval so you don't have to talk to me much, and I promise I'm not a murderer... 🤣 Let me know if it's any use to anyone, if not I'll contact them and they can reallocate it. Just bumping this as the ticket for tomorrow has become available again, let me know if you're able to make use of it 😀

Jeremy is amazing but Celine did also smash it in the 90s 😁

I think they’d be crazy not to cast him to be honest, he’s proven he can do the role in the Arts Ed production and it’s that performance that got him noticed by Michael Harrison and ALW. He’s a true triple threat and a rising star in the west end and this would be a brilliant next gig for him after Joseph. I just hope the transfer doesn’t happen until end of next year so he’s done with the Joseph tour. Yes! Winter 2022 would be marvellous. Merry Christmas to us. Someone make it happen.

Yeah I can't see it happening either, Joseph counts Jac out from March to October.
But he would be SO good.

Watching this now - such a charming musical, and Celina Smith is doing a great job as Annie. Can't believe she's only 13, she's going to be a star 🌟

Yeah TITM can go either way for me, if it's a skilled performer then it can be epic, but falls dangerously close to cheese otherwise. I do have a soft spot for it though.

John does a lot of these types of concerts and he's recorded This Is The Moment previously so I assume he'll sing that.
And I assume Kerry will sing Finding Wonderland, and Natalie will sing either The Mad Hatter or I Will Prevail given they were both in the Wonderland tour a few years ago.

Did Claudia just say Cassidy Janson was singing? Yes, Cassidy has released that song as a single this weekend.

Bit short notice isn't it, cancelling less than 4 hours before the show? Surely they do their Covid testing first thing in the morning. A lot of people may already be on their way! Theatre actors don't get up first thing in the morning, if you're in the theatre until 2300 and don't get home to midnight, you're not going to be in bed until 2 or 3 am typically. It's a real shame to see performances cancelled, bad enough if you live nearby, completely horrendous to have hotel and travel booked. Again it's another reason that previews should be significantly more discounted these days than they are, where the risk of cancellation is higher. That all said, the commentary with complaints about the show not taking Covid seriously are a bit rich, these are all real people with real lives, commuting via public transport into the centre of London every day. Even taking social distancing precautions that the vast majority of the British public haven't bothered with for over a year, there's still a huge risk of contracting an evermore transmissible virus. I don't think it's fair to blame actors that test positive and quite rightly discover this by early testing and calling in sick, I'm sure they're completely gutted to be shutting down an entire West End show. I'm sure performers are doing everything they can, I didn't say they weren't? I just assumed they were testing around 10am/11am which is hardly first thing in the morning, even given their late nights. Finding out they have positive cases at 3.30pm just seems really late in the day, that's all.

What am I missing? This looks surprisingly well sold to me, perhaps on the basis of the membership club 'Alpha' already having filled the pricey seats, as it's the cheaper seats in the balcony that are hardly sold. Down at the Arena and Stalls level the empty balconies won't be noticed, so atmosphere shouldn't be damaged or performers deflated. But, if only it had been a conventional theatre, I'd have gone because I trusted the Sound to be decent. Downstairs and first level are maybe two thirds sold at best if averaged out, but there are big sections of empty seats and then it gets worse the higher you go. Let's just hope the people who do attend are loud clappers.

10 may be a bit excessive but it is quite dark for youngsters, there are various animal deaths and a couple of more 'graphic' parts which might scare them.

Yeah they massively overestimated demand and then overcharged on top. If they'd gone for Cadogan Hall and made it reasonable it would've sold far better. I know I would've gone. But it's all about making money and I guess they thought the RAH and that pricing was the only way to go.

They've left it too late for deals now, how many people do they think will go with no notice. Such a shame.
