I don’t know which to put this news, either here or at the NT thread, but Tobias Menzies will be starring in the NT revival of Antigone by the end of the year. I'd rather the Lyric Hammersmith had revived their Covid-cancelled Antigone (renamed The Burial at Thebes) as they were going to use the Seamus Heaney version. No doubt the NT will commission a modish new version from a lesser talent.

Any transfer rumours about The Witches that ran at the NT? That show could run as long as Matilda, it was so special.

That's one spot open at Old Vic between The Constituent ending 10 August and A Christmas Carol opening 09 November... anyone?

Any solid rumours as to what's going Drury Lane?
I know people have said Sweeney or Hercules, but curious if anyone has heard any more credible whispers.

I would guess there is a balance between what appears to be a license to print money and Tom Holland's availability.

First half of 2024 has been utterly mediocre for me. But this second half of the year is lined up with so many heavy hitters I've booked and yet to book. I can only hope 2025 hits ridiculously hard if all those dream transfers and new shows come true.

What happened to the West End production of Hedwig? David Binder indicated last year that it was on its way.

We need some good play announcements for next year. We've just had Richard II at the Bridge as well as Backstroke and Intimate Apparel at the Donmar announced for 2025.
