I thought it might be fun to start a thread about the rumours we have heard for 2024!
I would start, but I've got nothing!

Rumours picked up from here and/or shows with bare bones announcements include.
The Lightening Thief Hedwig and the Angry Inch The Cher Show Fisherman's Friends Shucked - WE Cameron Mackintosh venue Oliver! - Chichester/ West End Noel Coward? Groundhog Day - Savoy May
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - WE Transfer Trainspotting The Musical - WE Feb Starry (Van Gogh) - WE Assassins = Chichester transfer Titanique - WE Newsies - WE Transfer Parade - WE Paranormal Activity - WE Some Like It Hot - WE Burlesque The Hunger Games - WE La Cage Aux Folles - Regent's Park 2023 WE transfer? Kiss Me Kate - Barbican The Enormous Crocodile Regent's - Park Open Air Theatre Fiddler On The Roof Regent's - Park Open Air Theatre What’s New Pussycat? - Transfer
Groundhog Day going to the Savoy seems very dead, Benjamin Button hasn't been mentioned in a while. Tammy Faye has gone to broadway instead.

Not rumoured but there are still a few shows that were announced but Covid got in the way. The Watsons and Oedipus are top of my list. Also Stephen Manghan has said he is doing a show in London next year amen also heard Kadiff Kirwin leading an unannounced production at NT.

What about closures? Well all these new shows have to go somewhere.
From just a quick look at how tickets are selling, wouldn't be surprised if we lose BTTF, Mrs Doubtfire and Guys and Dolls.

Guys and Dolls wouldn't be replaced by any rumoured shows anyway, the Bridge would go back to plays.

Isn’t the Josh Groban production of SWEENEY TODD rumoured to be transferring to the West End? Also, the Jamie Lloyd production of A DOLL’S HOUSE coming over from Broadway?

I can't imagine Sweeney Todd coming over, it needs a decent sized theatre and there's not any available at the moment.

Thinking about this, was SINATRA not planning a West End stint? Is this still happening? I know it wasn’t well regarded here, but I love the music, so would like to see it.
I also know that Jeanine Tesori wants to bring KIMBERLY AKIMBO over. Could we see that in 2024?

Wasn't there talk of Aida finally coming over here this year, or has that gone dead again?

I'm hoping someone will pick up the new Sondheim, Here We Are. Wouldn't that be a great way for Tim Sheader to start his Donmar stint? Or for Michael Longhurst to end his?

Wasn't there talk of Aida finally coming over here this year, or has that gone dead again? The new version they had hoped to roll out wasn't received very well in the Netherlands and didn't sell very well. So they might want to take it back to the drawing board. This would be one show that would be great for a concert unlike so many of the lacklustre offerings in the last 1-2 years. But the very fac that it's not done as a concert makes me hopeful that they are still planning or a proper version.

Mendes started his Donmar reign with the European premiere of Assassins, so HWA would be good follow-up for Sheader. He is a director with an imagination and I'd love to see what he would do with it

I also know that Jeanine Tesori wants to bring KIMBERLY AKIMBO over. Could we see that in 2024? I don't think an immediate transfer was ever planned? If I remember correctly, Birmingham was always meant to be the pre-town tryout for the Broadway run. Perhaps it could end up touring like The Cher Show did?

Baz says that Ben Whilshaw will be in the West End in a 'new play based on a book' before his September 2024 waiting for godot
