My brother had a full beard at 15, I think they'll be fine. 😅

Curious why facial hair on university students is noteworthy? Are we trying to suggest they seem too old to be in uni, because a lot of real uni students have facial hair. We are not try to suggest anything- I fear that perhaps you are reading far too much into this. It was a mere observation. And, in truth, the only reason that I noticed was the fact that most of the other male Shiz University are clean shaven and for me, the fact that one or two students are bearded, was noticeable. As you were.

I'm not reading too much into anything, I was just curious why it mattered whether the Shiz students had facial hair or not. It seemed no more notable than any extras in any crowd scene having facial hair.

The budget for both films is $320m which sounds like a lot but works out at $160m per film which on par with a big blockbuster musical. Universal by comparison spend $300m on the last Fast and Furious film.
It'll likely be profitable for Universal but not as uber profitable that the original stage musical was for them.

The usual rule of thumb is to then add on half of the budget for marketing costs though I think they’ve probably gone above that so you’re possibly looking at up $300m total for this first film.

Yeah reckon they will have blown through that for this. Got the live stream on for the London premiere now on YouTube and just this itself must have cost a fortune. Ariana and Cynthia’s fashion budget alone for this press tour is probably as big as some smaller film’s whole marketing budget.

I'm watching the premiere on YouTube and although Stephen Schwartz's interview was short, I found his concern for the interviewer Clara Amfo really sweet telling her make sure she stays dry and warm on a very wet and cold evening.

Have any of the screenings been in 3D? If so, what are people saying about it. I have tickets for both the 2D and 3D versions.

My local Savoy is listing this as being 3hrs including trailers - so the film must be a good 2 1/2 hours. Even with the long length of Act 1 on stage, there must be a lot added to get it this long.

Yeah official runtime is 2h 41m. Some of that will be credits but it’s nearly as long as the full stage show.

Just come back from the fan zone of the London premiere, the final stop of the press tour. Very overwhelmed, I was the only one to call over the West End alumni haha!! A few past Elphies and Glindas have confirmed their cameos in Wicked Part 2

I believe Universal isn't paying for the tie ins and it's pretty much everywhere, I've seen clothing and merchandise in both Primark and M&S.

With the amount of promo and now spoiler clips appearing on my feed I can confidently say I've seen about 90% of Wicked before it's out.

(I may very well be incorrect but) are one or two of the Shiz University students bearded? Was one of them Keala Settle?

It will be interesting to hear reviews from people who aren’t already invested from seeing the show.

Apparently several retailers in America already have the soundtrack out in their stores. Curious to see if/when the album will leak online

I just can’t see the soundtrack being as good as the OBC. From what we’ve heard of Cynthia so far I don’t prefer her to Idina and Ariana just seems to be impersonating Kristen. Too early to say for sure of course but I’m not sure I’ll be feeling the urge to buy this.

First showing at Vue Printworks 8am has 20 seats sold so far. Hardcore fans presumably. Evening perfs are very well sold, just odd singles left.
