ALW’s Bad Cinderella - Broadway Imperial Theater

Let’s not forget the ALW new show/revival cycle.

1. Launch new show or revival, hyping up his current muse du jour
2. Disparage previous productions, shifting blame to other creatives, cast and even audiences. Claim this is his finest work (for new shows) or is the production he always envisaged (for revivals)
3. Repeat step one

It's been rare for him to do that with revivals because what gets revived generally had a successful life in the original incarnation. It's more the post-millennium new shows where this became the standard practice. 

He won't have COVID this time to blame, so wonder who/what it will it be.

I can't get over the launch - it's just going to live rent free in my head hehehehehe

So cringe. Not the new lead's fault but I'm just internally dying.

Could do with a new lyricist.

And half the dreadful clunky music, casio keyboard band, the obvious woke storyline that isn't special or different, the message of hate throughout the show, the terrible end of act one and reveal that makes no sense, the oddly written fairygodmother character, there is no real duet in the show, the set looks horrible and they don't know the marketing or audience angle the show needs. 

I did like some of the ballads though and there IS a good show in there somewhere. 30 per cent of the material is good. I wish them well! I hated Woman in White on the West End and I loved it at Charing Cross, same with Love Never Dies version 1 to oz version 3

Couldn’t find the One show with Carrie and the Lord on his lil Casio have one from Pudsey times



The energy is so different. While I hated the mental health slurs in the original the new lyrics are even more nonsensical. Prefer Linedy for energy and potential incoming sass

Just had a listen - what is that awful gasping for breath at the end of every line all about?  I'm not a big CHF fan either, but having just listened to her version to compare, it's so much smoother.  And in tune.

Yeah...that's not going to happen.

Remember when ALW called CHF one of his greatest leading ladies?

Isn’t every single turn he trundles out his ‘greatest’?
He needs a new script writer.

That poor girl gasping for air after every line, expected to carry a Broadway show fresh from a West End flop.
