Our song has been revealed:
It's much better than last year's entry but I still don't think it'll do very well for us (even accounting for Brexit bias). Personally I rather like the instrumentation (I'm a sucker for a bit of electric guitar) but the lyrics are typically banal - the kind of song I'd enjoy as background music but wouldn't actively listen to.

I really like it!
Of course Ukraine will win this year whatever their entry is, but it would be nice to get out of the doldrums for a change. I wonder what sort of presentation of this they’re going for.

"If I was an astronaut..."
So much for our education system! There will be people at Eurovision, for whom English is not a first language, who speak better English than this.
Song is ok, but that lyric jarred. Singer looks like he's stepped out of a 70s production of Jesus of Nazareth.

The last UK Eurovision entry I liked was by Frances Ruffelle, and everyone else hated that, so what do I know? This is very listenable ( I'd rewrite the bridge which is very weak, but the rest of the song works), he has a great voice, and hopefully the BBC for once get someone with an ounce of talent to stage it well. It won't win but it won't come last. Italy's song is a big hit and already has parody versions, but maybe they've peaked too soon. Norway might have been a very silly winner to lighten the post COVID blues, but events have made that impossible. Ukraine will win the public vote overwhelmingly, but is there a song strong enough to dominate the jury vote which ought to put the music ahead of all other considerations? Nothing so far...

It’s just hit number one on iTunes. When does that ever happen?!?

I didn’t hate Embers last year but it always felt like something was missing from the song. Almost like it was a demo rather than the finished product. In fact that’s how the majority of our songs have sounded for the past decade. And then the live performance itself was dreadful.
This song on the other hand sounds very well produced. It’s not the most amazing song in the world but I have full faith that Sam Ryder can deliver an amazing performance. He has the charisma and vocal talent to really grab some attention particularly if they deliver on good staging.
I’m not expecting a win but I really do hope this does well. Can’t get any worse than last year right?

Not that it is really similar but it immediately made me think of the Sesame Street song 'I Don't Want To Visit The Moon' sung by Ernie (of Bert and Ernie) sometimes in a duet with Aaron Neville. I suspect that I won't be the only parent who brought up their children on Sesame Street who will make that association!

Just to keep the positivity train going his TikTok video where he announces that he is doing Eurovision has already hit 1 million views in about 6 hours since it posted.
The music video on the Eurovision channel is quickly growing in views already over taking some other countries which have been on there for a few days now.
And as I previously mentioned the song is currently sitting at number 1 on iTunes.

Is anybody else tired of big ballads ending with a cutesy quiet final two lines sung in a babyish voice? It seems to be inescapable since The Greatest Showman came out. Sing the end of the song like you bloody mean it!!!?

I rather like it, our best effort for ages. Still think we'll finish low but if he performs well on the night, I like to think we have a chance of getting on the left side of the board.

Our best entry for a while, let’s hope he can perform it for the camera as that’s been really missing in our entires for the past few years. Although watching this video it is like Steve Balsamo has been cryogenically frozen since JCS and has now been defrosted. Has anyone ever seen them together?

The song has really grown on me. I get the feeling that ALW will be trying to revive JCS ...

Our song is 4th in the betting. Which is encouraging.
I don't get the love for Sweden. The song doesn't do anything for me.
Poland I do like

Fewer songs this year as usually about 45. I don’t know if there’s ever been 45 entries in Eurovision. I think it has maxed out 43. We have 40 this year up from 39 last year with Armenia returning to the competition.

She would win. Is it too late for Ukraine to change their entry ? Ukraine will win anyway whatever they sing. It will, should , be a ‘moment’

Best result for Ukraine would be a close 2nd place. They get the publicity and none of the responsibility.
