A worthy top 3.
But it will be a very predictable final.

A worthy top 3. But it will be a very predictable final. In what way predictable? Rose will win even though AJ is the better all-rounder. That has been the obvious result since about week 3.

Yes to me AJ is the best dancer, but I'm sure Rose will win.

If only Rhys had been in last year’s show. Maybe we wouldn’t have had a joke winner.

AJ's injury has forced her out of the final
Really sad to end her series this way.

Such a sad ending for AJs strictly journey.

Sad AJ is out but I don't think she was going to win despite being IMO the best celeb dancer. John and Johannes as the first same sex couple have a big following and are great personalities plus RAE is an inspiration and Gio is very popular so as well as both being good dancing couples they have been clear favourites for a few weeks.
I think Rose will edge it in the end. I'd have liked AJ to win but would be happy for either other to win.

How are they going to fil in the time now as they will now be 3 dances short.

How are they going to fil in the time now as they will now be 3 dances short. They will have an interview with AJ and Kai. Show their best moments which were likely formatted in too. They can give the judges extra time to talk. All the pro numbers are apparently pre filmed. I don't know about musical guests. They could get them to do another number. Some of the pro couples could have a routine they may be able to do. In the old days Brucie would have likely filled in but I doubt Tess would do a song and dance number ! They will have most of the eliminated couples back on so talk to them each a bit or edit extra interview footage in. BBC runs more Xmas previews to take a few minutes out of show too. Run longer preview of Xmas special maybe. If Beeb don't have extra footage to fill say 15 minutes then no-one would!

Yes such a pity for AJ after all these weeks to fall at the final hurdle. It won't be the same just 2 in the final.

Shame they don't bring Rhys back. Would make a better show. If he could do two numbers he hasn’t forgotten, the argentine and the samba and then concentrate on a show dance as from last night to sat pm it would work.
Incidentally, most random celeb check, I saw AJ in her green fluffy coat and with lower leg bandaged and on crutches outside my nail salon in Finchley ( Tally Ho if anyone knows the area)

I’ve had a bit of a week (brother had his leg amputated) so I am feeling a bit raw. I feel so sorry for AJ, what a way for this to end. Although, part of me thinks that a dancing injuring is more fitting than Covid isolation, which must have been a massive concern for the producers.

Seems there won't be too much filling after all. Yesterday, the final started at 7 and finished at 9.05pm. Today it's 7.10 and 9pm.

Both couples made great choices for their favourite dance to re-do for the final - Rose and Giovanni’s couples choice then John and Johannes doing their paso. I really don’t mind who wins as they have both been fabulous throughout the series.

It's going to be a tough call as they have both been amazing and both had such an incredible journey.
Looks like a snail has been crawling over Motsi's face and left a trail of slime and could Tess be anymore patronising?

😂 well said alece10 - I completely agree. I thought John and Johannes’s paso doble was the dance of the whole series. A great final!

Rose hardly did any steps in her show dance. I know lifts take skill and trust. But I do think the show dance should contain a significant amount of steps

I thought it was a great show, very weepy, the tissues in my house almost gone. But as I said last year, getting it together with all the difficulties of the pandemic is a marvellous achievement. A live show for goodness sake and entertainment for all ages. They should get some kind of tv award. Rose the obvious winner, though I agree not a lot of steps in her show dance. It was just her whole shebang just pipped John’s shebang. Gonna be interesting how they do it next year.

Given that they had a lot of time to fill, and it's the final dance the couples will do, why did they have to stick to 90seconds for the showdances? The Rose is a really simple tune, with only four lines per verse, and cutting the second line of each verse throws the whole thing off balance. Would anyone have noticed if they'd made it 10 seconds longer by leaving the tune intact? Rose would even have had time to actually do some steps with her feet on the ground! I'm glad she won, but it's so annoying when choreographers make clumsy edits to pieces of music for no reason. It was a wonderfully memorable final apart from this, and Tess and Shirley being even more sickening than usual.

I enjoyed it on the whole, but the emotion was way OTT for me. I wanted glittery escapism and upbeat numbers, both of which were missing tonight with the exception of the group dance.

I see that Oti Mabuse is going to be a judge on the new series of Dancing on Ice. Aunty won't allow her to have a foot in both camps, will it?
