Or Prehaps he is simply respecting his religious beliefs ? or expecting special treatment because of his life choices... Is it special treatment to not want to be discriminated because of his religious beliefs? If they had refused he could well have had grounds to say he was illegally discriminated on the basis of religion.

Dan Walker has explained his bizarre lobster routine. He doesn't celebrate Halloween and so requested not to have anything associated with that as part of his routine. So the producers came up with the crustacean alternative. I don't quite understand why you would accept to be part of the show knowing what it entails and involves and then refuse to fully participate in one of the best known themes. Dressing up doesn't equate to "celebrating" in my book - I'd be justifying it as part of the job I had to do that week if I were him. I went to a church service yesterday where the sermon was all about Halloween and the religious links to the celebration of All Hallows Eve prior to the American commercialisation of the day that has led to what happens now. He belongs to a less mainstream branch of Christianity that doesn’t acknowledge Halloween.

He chose to accept a place on a TV show that regularly has an episode based on Halloween themes He shouldn't have accepted the gig if he wasn't prepared to fully participate

Isn't being a lobster even more problematic for some Christians? Ye shall regard their carcasses as detestable according to Leviticus. Certainly applies to Saturday's routine!🤪

It’s ok, I thought he was a tw@t long before I knew of his beliefs.

He chose to accept a place on a TV show that regularly has an episode based on Halloween themes He shouldn't have accepted the gig if he wasn't prepared to fully participate I'm seeing the conversation more along the lines of: Producers: Please be on our show. Dan: Ok but only if I don't dress up in a Halloween costume Producers: That's fine (as we don't want to be (accurately) described as discriminating against religion.) I'm quite sure the other celebs have their own 'riders'. Tom: I need to be on tour for the first couple of weeks Tilly: I have to start University whoever: M and Ms without the blue ones in my dressing room Part and parcel of the normal negotiations. If the production team felt the request was unreasonable then they can say No.

Another dull week so far. The Jive was not a great one. And the samba really lacked energy.

We had a paso straight out of a 1970s Seaside Special
And then a really badly choreographed QS that was really overmarked

Tilly was badly served by the costume and lighting departments tonight. Dressing her all in black and Nikita all in white meant that she was mainly invisible throughout the dance.
Any detail she might have included was lost in the on screen presentation

That was an awful Couples Choice. Pedestrian. Plodding. With so little dance content
The Rumba made me cry. It was very emotional in terms of performance but also in terms of what it represented

Charleston was good. Very traditional in terms of content. AJ's legs are almost too long
QS was decent. Enough to keep her away from the bottom of the leaderboard.
The wig needs burning though

How on earth did they think that’s paso was good? It was a parody of paso. I like the 70s seaside ref, oxfordsimon. I agree.

Very much agree about Tom's Paso, I don't understand how it got 10's. Dan's couple choice was very wooden and overall boring, the judges were very kind towards it; I've seen better dances torn apart.
Loved Aj's Charleston, (had me reminiscing about Danny Mac's Charleston with Oti, so I just had a re-watch - so good) But my favourite dance was John's Rumba esp. as it's a difficult dance, particularly in creating the right mood/atmosphere.
Surely it's Dan who will be exiting stage left?

Also they got overexcited because they could see The Dooleys and Stan Boardman in the background waiting to come on.

I love AJ, I have a feeling she won't win but I just love her. The ones I look forward to each week are AJ and John. I have to say though I do love Sara as well, she's not as good a dancer as those twp but you can see how much effort she puts in and how much she is loving the experience and it's endearing.

I really liked that traditional paso doble. I liked the music, the costumes, I liked that very macho posturing. They stopped at him dragging her, cape like, along the floor of the bullring and her making horns with her index fingers but I’d have probably enjoyed that too. There’s too much fannying about with these dances sometimes, I think it’s good to be reminded about what they are and where they come from.
The rumba on the other hand left me cold. I’m so bored of those two being on the verge of tears after every dance that requires a bit of intensity. Is it like that all week in rehearsals? Must be going through the Kleenex at a rate of knots. Put yourselves together.
What was the song that Rose danced to?

Ahhhh thank you. They based the whole routine on it, and the costume. Very good.

That Charleston was not worth 40. At least one of the lifts was very clunky and some of the early footwork was sloppy.
The Couples Choice was pretty obviously going to score well. But I would have liked more steps and less in the way of lifts.

I thought Johannes was doing the hard work in that dance. John’s great, but Johannes brought it alive.
Surprised by that Charleston score.
I don’t really get the love for Sara. Thought it was stompy (to use a Craig word.)

Motsi should have left the building site 15 minutes earlier, to give her time to change out of her hi-viz.
Miranda Hart isn't as funny as she thinks she is.
The same dance can't score both 4 and 9.
Was that Kara Tointon in Team Tom?
The title is Rose and Giovanni's to lose.

As per the whole series, the scoring was very inconsistent last night.
Rose and Giovanni’s dance had me in tears, they would be such worthy winners of this series. Craig definitely should have given them a 10 but I agree with what they said talking to Claudia - it wasn’t about the scores but sharing Rose’s story.
Yes I noticed Kara Tointon sitting with Giovanna Fletcher.
