What if you end up in ICU with Covid, where you will get plenty of injection.
I'm afraid you have to get over your needle phobia, as every anti-vaxxers will claim that. As other posters have said vaccinated people are struggling for treatment. Although people with genuine needle phobias, need to be treated sensitively and vaccinated in a comfortable way.

I dont have needle phobia thank god and I’m very thankful to be fully boosted. But phobias ARE a thing. I suffer terribly from fear of heights and if it were necessary to stand on the edge of a cliff in order to get a jab I’d probably need to be sedated. My body (brain) just wouldn’t let me do it, and I assume it’s the same with other phobias including needles. I hav3 no idea how such a person would deal with medical emergencies.. maybe someone else does?

My Mum has a severe needle phobia - when she was younger she avoided the TB jab by scratching her tester to make it look like she'd had a reaction. She has avoided having any vaccines the whole time I've been alive but this year she's had all three covid jabs. She was terrified for weeks each time but she said it was important so she forced herself through it.

A YouGov survey shows that 78% of people polled think there was a party and 79% think they broke the rules. 6% think there wasn't a party and they didn't break the rules.

I have total sympathy for people with needle phobias, I am not going to minimise that - however I totally see it as an excuse that anti-vaxxers would use, which I have no sympathy for.
I wouldn't be standing on a edge of a cliff too, I hate heights. I also hate gunshots and big bangs, PTSD from an incident that happened when I was child, even though I know that bangs are totally harmless, I still feel very queasy, this happens in the theatre sometimes, but I still go for the greater good.
I would say that staff in ICU will be able to tell if someone has a needle phobia, also history from their GP. If they haven't charge them for their care.
Maybe an oral vaccine will be available in due course
It is not right to deny responsible vaccinated urgent medical care, because of irresponsible anti vaxxers.

I agree people who cannot be vaccinated, Someone in a Tree pointed this out with some of his clients' having autism, I would also agree it is unreasonable to expect someone who is psychotic to be vaccinated. I cannot think of anyone else who cannot be vaccinated?Where are you on needle phobia? It’s a thing! One of my cousins has needle phobia. It took him a while to get the covid vaccine, IIRC 2 or 3 months after he could have got it, but eventually he managed to pluck up the courage to be done. Personally I'm scared that I might get given Moderna for my 3rd jab, because I have emetophobia & have read that being sick is a fairly common side effect of Moderna, but I'll still be having the 3rd jab in a couple of weeks because its the right thing to do. Admittedly I might be asking them if I could please have Pfizer rather than Moderna!

"Choosing" is the important word. There are people who cannot be vaccinated. This is why the government cannot have a blanket ban on the unvaccinated. I have sympathy for those people above advocating draconian measures on the unvaccinated but, in our relatively free society, it can't be done. I agree people who cannot be vaccinated, Someone in a Tree pointed this out with some of his clients' having autism, I would also agree it is unreasonable to expect someone who is psychotic to be vaccinated. I cannot think of anyone else who cannot be vaccinated? The vaccine is 100% safe. If you end up in ICU with Covid, the people treating you are the best people to decide if you can be vaccinated. If you can be vaccinated and you have had the opportunity to have all 3 doses and spurned these, then the NHS has a right to charge for your care. My mother-in-law’s boyfriend has medication which means he cannot have the vaccine. I don’t know the details so can’t comment further but it’s not just people with autism or people who are psychotic.

Seeing a worrying amount of posts like this from creatives about work being cancelled due to a combination of Plan B and audiences cancelling out of fear - but with no furlough or financial help this time.

Despite the mess the government has got into this week, we just have to take the scientific advisor advice I think on this one. Unfortunately it looks like stronger measures are on the way. I agree with the mask wearing, although I have carried on in enclosed areas anyway. I am sure there will be a problem with adherence though due to the 'party' situation. Hopefully these measures will prevent another lockdown but its too early to say at the moment.

Okay The list isn’t exhaustive, the people in ICU are the best to decide who cannot be vaccinated and that would include your family member, I have no issue if you genuinely cannot be vaccinated. However 80% of Covid beds in ICU are being taken up by the unvaccinated, I am very happy to except a few exceptions cannot be vaccinated , the rest can pay for their treatment. I am sick and tired of the ‘entitled’ anti vaxxers ruining other people’s’ lives for a vaccine that is proven to be 100% safe.

Time Out London this morning banging on about a 'Plan C' that involves banning mixing over Christmas. I can't see that one working, and I certainly won't be obeying those kind of restrictions myself. I've done what I was supposed to. I got vaccinated, I got my booster, I wear a mask (though I hate them). The same is the case for the people I'd be mixing with, and if we're getting together we'll each test first. But we're not having another Christmas sitting at home doing nothing.

I am absolutely not having it dictated who I can and can’t have visit me in my home this winter. Or who I socialise with. They’ve lost the plot.

I've followed all other rules but I will be seeing my family. I'm isolating the week before and I'll take a test. Other than that, Boris can stuff any further sanctions up his hole.

I'll have to hope that's all I get if I have Moderna. Sickness as a side effect seems to affect about 10-20% of people so I suppose its not terrible odds but much higher than I'd like. The other problem being the likelihood of me having panic attacks at the possibility of being sick.

Household mixing being banned is a big NO from me as well. I've had the booster, I'll do tests if necessary and I'll wear a mask (reluctantly)but anything else can get in the bin.

I cannot see what is being fussed about. All the reports I have read say that the Government is working on 'Plan C' restrictions that could be introduced in the New Year (not Christmas) if Omicron cases continue to surge. I should hope they are planning. Based on the experience early in the pandemic the lack of continency planning caused the situation to be worse than it needed to have been and a lot of excess expenditure. It is common sense to have a contingency plan for a worst case scenario. Hopefully 'Plan C' will remain just a plan.

There was talk of a Plan C back in October so clearly it's been in the works for a while.
