What on earth is going on in that picture? What's he supposed to be doing with his hands? Did they forget to tell him to pick up the cutlery?

Is Boris thinking (that’s a bit of a long shot in any situation I know) “Your not one of my kids are you?”

BJ goes into isolation (again) at a rather crucial time for the country. Will he also miss Sir Kier grilling in PMQ's?

Even in isolation Boorish is doing a grand job promoting Scottish independence. 60% support by Christmas at this rate.

Boris has had a test now and it was negative. So why can’t he return to work? . Mind you with the obvious lack of COVID security in no 10 I don’t blame him sticking to the flat. But if he stays ‘in isolation’ that is the wrong message to send. He should be letting us know that the testing system works. Or am I reading the rules wrongly?

Well for a start the rules say you can only get a test if you develop symptoms. So if he’s broken that one he might as well break the rest and stop isolating. Or (better) change the rules so anyone told to self-isolate can get a test and if negative go back to work/school. Actually my guess is he’s claiming “key worker” status.

If you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive you have to isolate for 14 days. The virus can emerge at any point within those 14 days, so getting a negative test in those circumstances really means nothing other than you aren't exhibiting the virus at that particular moment. You could test negative today but positive tomorrow. Testing is for people with symptoms to know whether they have Corona (and need to quarantine) or something else.

You could test negative today but positive tomorrow. . So why doesn’t that apply to NHS staff ? For them it’s negative test, straight back to work, despite the fact that hospitals continue to provide a significant percentage of all cases. Just incidentally this also means even if you’ve been vaccinated you’ll still have to self-isolate for 14 days if you’ve been in contact with a case.

Test and trace vital to us all getting back to some sort of normality Very convenient timing though with massive decisions needing to be made about Christmas & questions needing answering ref the departure of Cummings & the chicken. You can’t blame people for being suspicious, nor for preferring the idea of his switched on young partner as PM rather than him. He might be lining himself up for ‘test & trace poster boy’ but when people are reporting getting no notifications from the app, even when sat next to their positive husband on the couch, it may just be too late.

Now that Dido Hardup is self isolating, maybe the app only works if you have ToryCronie virus. The rest of the population don't matter.

There are a million and one things to attack the Tory government for. This is the worst government ever, when we needed the best. But this isn't one of them

It cost £12 billion pounds of our money. I’d say it’s quite the issue.

It’s an example of the great big issue of them rarely acting in our interest; or kind of, but benefitting themselves at the same time.

You really can't make it up any more. Priti Patel's bullying is exposed. It is Anti Bullying Week.
Marina Hyde sums it up best I think:

You really can't make it up any more. Priti Patel's bullying is exposed. It is Anti Bullying Week. Marina Hyde sums it up best I think: John Bercow had several credible serious bullying allegations against him but Labour supported him and he didn’t have to step down - in fact Margaret Beckett explicitly said that his input on Brexit “trumps bad behaviour”. So, that’s the precedent that’s been followed here too - you can’t have it both ways.

Believe Bercow’s claims were allegations and not independently verified and has been barred from the House of Lords because of the allegation which is the norm for a retired Speaker of the House.
Patel’s allegations have been independently verified as being true and there are no repercussions.
Whataboutery is not a defence.
In this instance we should focus on the fact that there are people whose claims of being bullied have been proven but ignored, bullying has victims and these are the people who need protecting not the perpetrators.
There is no question what Labour would do now, Patel would be out quicker than you could say where’s the door.

Honestly, the repercussions for workplace bullying cannot be overstated. Oh, I wasn't bullying, it wasn't intentional. Of all the resignations that needed to have happened this year, Patel is at the top, even above Cummings
