Forrest I think I'll be sticking to rather plainer ice cream options - mint choc chip is as fancy as I go with ice cream! I find that option quite tempting too. :) (Love mint choc chip!) In the spirit of honesty, I've come to confess that lunch today was: porridge (I make mine with water), with peanut butter, cinnamon, demerara sugar and a pinch of salt - my usual breakfast combination. I had no time for breakfast, because I couldn't for the life of me get up this morning, and I was in and out of Zoom meetings until noon, so all meals got pushed back by a few hours. It happens.

Just a small packet of Doritos, olives and a cup of tea.

Dawnstar I love mint choc chip ice cream, always get a scoop or two when I go to the cinema. It's generally my flavour of choice when I get an ice cream while out & about in the summer. I never seem to eat it at home though. I suppose because at home we usually have home-made strawberry ice cream which, once you've hacked it out of the container, is better than any shop-bought ice cream in our opinion.

Roast beef and cheddar cheese sandwich, made with meat leftover from a Sunday roast delivered to Camden by Jones & Sons (pro tip: you can request extra meat for a relatively small up-charge, and it was enough for 2 meals plus a sandwich). Cheddar cheese delivered from The Cheese Truck, operated by the Cheese Bar in Camden Market. (I'm starting to get the hang of the good stuff that's offered for delivery.)

Grilled cheddar cheese and basil pesto sandwich + carrot salad with olive oil and some additional basil. No dessert. (I blame my local Tesco and their absolutely devastatingly bad chocolate selection! :) )

A crazy big salad to use up all the final bits of romaine, cabbage, arugula, and shaved brussel sprouts. Topped it off with roasted sweet potato chunks, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and some Craisins. Dessert: chocolate chip cookie bar.

OMG, BurlyBeaR, that sounds divine! (Anything with chilli and cheese on top is a winner in my book!) There was no time for lunch today, but there was a lunch/dinner crossover just now: Linda McCartney's veggie burger (no bun, just the patty), oven baked sweet potato slices, greek yoghurt/chilli sauce and gherkins.

I took one of my 'walks with playwrights' (which - to avoid giving londonpostie a heart attack! ;) - is a solitary walk around the city while listening to Dan Rebellato's 'Playwrights in Lockdown' youtube podcast; today's was the incredibly interesting David Greig one) and got back home starving, so lunch was a 5-minute (but delicious) effort: a carrot, tomato, baby spinach and cucumber salad and a pesto, Red Leicester and spinach quesadilla. Now to be followed by a coffee and a dark chocolate coated ginger biscuit!

What you do with Ben and Jerry and a pot of ice cream probably would give me a heart attack! And there goes my board reputation as a nice girl you could take home to your mother (or to the theatre) out the window... Lunch was meant to be pizza. But I found myself next to an asian food store, and thought: Hmmmm. So I got some tofu and sesame oil and spices and lunch was a hot and spicy warm/cold noodle and vegetable salad with fried tofu, smothered in lots of sesame oil and soy sauce and topped with peanuts. Dessert will be a coffee and a peanut mochi (because who could resist them?!).

Today's lunch was really basic (and quick): green tagliatelle with pesto and a baby spinach and tomato salad.
Followed by a coffee and two dark chocolate ginger biscuits. (Never buying them again: they were so good that I finished the whole package in record time!)

Had a craving for a bacon butty, nothing else would do. Didn't make it past brunch-time. Now wondering how early I can justifiably have lunch...

Vegetable frittata and a small salad. Time to start rationing the sweets if I have any hope of losing the pandemic weight gain without access to a gym for at least another month.
