There are still a few days left to watch this dance double bill from Headspace (via Northern Ballet).
After the Interval is before the interval, with Before the Interval after the interval. Don't worry; it's all explained via Zoom!
It's quite contemporary, so it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but after watching it last night, it comes with my recommendation...not that that means anything. 😉 Who knew that dancers could speak?

For any fans of Chicago this is great and in aid of a good cause. How many actors can you name?

My Mother Said I Never Should, a co-production with the world-famous Crucible Theatre, goes 'live' tonight, and is then available until 17 December.
Or if that doesn't appeal, there's a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Birmingham Royal Ballet arriving in...Birmingham. With a name like that, seems the obvious place for the company to be located!

My Mother Said I Never Should, a co-production with the world-famous Crucible Theatre, goes 'live' tonight, and is then available until 17 December. This is completely off-topic, but whenever you joke about it being the world-famous Crucible Theatre, I always remember how excited I was about going to the Crucible when I was visiting Sheffield, only to discover that it actually had nothing on while I was there. I was pretty crushed, even though this was in 2018, before I'd properly caught the theatre bug. (I wasn't coming because of the theatre, I travelled from home for a long weekend in the UK to see the Arctic Monkeys in concert because that's what one does to mend a broken heart, apparently, when that one is me. But I really wanted to visit Crucible and in the end I only got to see it from the outside. I loved Sheffield, though!)

Joke, Forrest? I can assure you it's no joke. Being world-famous is a serious business! 😂 The very fact you felt compelled to make a pilgrimage rather proves my point, does it not? When new dates are announced for Standing at the Sky's Edge, I can think of few things more appropriate for your first actual visit. And if, fingers crossed, it's next year, that will coincide with the 50th anniversary of opening. It's meant to be! 🙂 I don't know if Arctic Monkeys have ever described Richard Hawley as an influence, but he must be, surely. Even if you're not normally a musicals type of person, SATSE is most definitely a play with music. Isn't that right, BurlyBeaR?

I recently took out a a 1 month subscription for Digitial Theatre. A lot of stuff on there that doesn't appeal or I gave up on. However I loved Ghosts, Dollls House, Lovesong, Over there and Into the woods.
Looking at the site not much was added over the last few years so I wonder how long it will last. They surely need to keep adding to attract the punters?

Ruthless is being shown on The Shows Must Go On channel on YouTube this weekend. I saw it twice at the Arts theatre. It utterly mad. And outside of the UK they are getting Gypsy so hopefully we will get it soon too.

The Turbine Theatre staged an adult and very stagey panto in the quick gap between lock downs. Staring Rufus Hound, Oscar Conlon-Morrey, Debbie Kurup, Scott Paige, Sean Parkins and Daisy Wood-Davis, it received rave reviews but had it's run curtailed by London going into Tier 3. Fortunately they have filmed it for streaming and is available to purchase here: www.theturbinetheatre.com/whats-on/cinderella-online Trailer here

Last Sunday's West End Does Christmas streaming this weekend for £12 - Killian Donnelly, Oliver Tompsett, Louise Dearman, Rachel John. The "comic turn" is for the toilet break. It's a short show, started just after 7pm and we were out by 8.45 even with the social distance with people leaving. I went for Killian, but fell head over heels for Rachel. page.inplayer.com/westenddoes/index.html
