I don't know if this has been posted elsewhere, but yesterday Punchdrunk did a 12-hour live episode of Sky's Wicker Man-like series The Third Day with a cast including Jude Law (who I hope is somewhere very warm and dry today!). It's available to view on Sky's Facebook page. I missed the first 3 hours yesterday, but I don't think you need to know the plot of the series to follow it. It was extraordinary, a real gamechanger in terms of how TV can approach storytelling and the weather just really added to the drama, some of those shots were breathtakingly beautiful/sinister. As for Jude Law, I hope he's got a good rest since. I imagine his Sunday was pretty much a write off! Punchdrunk have done better than most at the moment, given their multidiciplinary spread. They've been able to do a young people's show in Australia, this live TV special with the cast pretty much isolating together for a week or more in their own bubble, keeping working on their gaming/theatre hybrid plans and now China has told them they can expand Sleep No More in Shanghai to 75% capacity. They've been somewhat lucky in being in countries that have attacked the virus effectively but it pays to have eggs in different baskets.

Just dropping in to say that 6000 joined in watching The Jermyn Street Theatre’s streaming of The Odyssey today. It can be seen on their YouTube channel and I recommend. It is engrossing. Dip in, so to speak.

East Riding Theatre in Beverley, which is another of those small theatres that punches above its weight, has made its production of Lee Hall's Spoonface Steinberg available to view at home until 30 October. Free to watch, but donations obviously welcome. www.eastridingtheatre.co.uk/spoonface-steinberg/

Watched the live stream of " Heroes of the Fourth Turning" last night - free to watch but donations (to support NYC-based creatives) are encouraged. Found it gripping and really interesting - shows the point of view of a group of "reasonable" conservative Trump voters, goes into their points of view and why they did it. Disturbing and slightly terrifying! Done live over zoom with the cast all in the same room but filmed separately - like the Old Vic approach I guess? There's one UK-friendly timed performance left - Saturday at 2PM NY time / 7PM UK time.

So live stream better than nothing. Strallens have probably bought all the seats so they can have a family gathering and get around the rule of 6.

English National Ballet has launched Ballet on Demand, with charges from £4.99 for three days' access. *Quite* a small library of productions to begin with, but it's a start! Even if performances were continuing as normal in the UK, making the company's work available around the world would be a positive development, and provide a welcome revenue stream. ondemand.ballet.org.uk/?_ga=2.150965302.166095145.1604514914-372997439.1604514914ETA: Another "5 amazing dance films" where recorded in September and October, which are going to be added to the library this month and next.

The Globe has done a semi staged read through of their Macbeth from a few years back that you can pay to stream, only it's so much more than a semi staged read through, yes people sit down at a distance a lot more than they traditionally would but it's basically the play minus a bit of action and with some visible scripts. Well worth a visit if you didn't see it at the time and fancy doing so now in a comfier seat.

Not just the utter squashyness of the seating but yes, actually the seating.

I just checked out the West End Woofs stream, sadly it's just the celebs talking about dogs for 2 hours, not performances! There was an opening number recorded by the cast of Hello Dolly which was fun. I watched about an hour but had to stop as I wanted all of the dogs.
