Ah okay, thank you. The lyrics are very awkward and try-hard.

I think you only need to look at the sales of some other shows to know that it's going to be a very rough time for theatres in January. Just a quick browse shows Come From Away only about 1/3 sold tomorrow (with upper circle closed), Pretty Woman and &Juliet have barely sold anything. Poppins has also closed their upper circle. Back to the future only around half sold. Even Matilda is only looking around 1/3 sold for Weds and Thurs eve. Gosh, that's not great. Perhaps some nice discount offers might appear... I'll happily take advantage Delfont Mackintosh are already discounting three of their biggies (Phantom, Les Mis and Mary Poppins) through to February which suggests bookings aren't great

I keep seeing adverts on FB saying "all remaining seats" reduced and a date range but several of the dates I checked had no discount at all. Everything at full price.

And the discounted ticket I managed to buy has now gone out the window as I've just had an email informing of cancellation of certain performances of Phantom (Mon eves and Thurs matinees until 10th Feb)

A friend (one who isn't as theatrically minded as me!) told me they'd been given tickets for "Bad Cinderella" for Christmas... Made me wonder if that's what a big proportion of people think this is called.

Andrew huffed and puffed he couldn’t open his show and threw a hissy fit at the Government. Ripped up his Conservative membership card in protest.
When he finally gets the green light to open his 5 star show, soon afterwards he temporarily closes it.

Speculation being what it is... my guesses 1 - they had more than a few COVID positives in the cast 2- they saw how things were trending and thought another lockdown was possible 3 - I wonder if there's something contractually or insurance or something that closing for a prolonged time rather than missing a few performances helps RUG limit losses in this situation 4 - I doubt this is going to get re-cast or drastically changed. Apart from online chats, Cinderella received generally good reviews from critics. I'm thinking ALW is nursing things along to get some nominations/awards and hope that generates good buzz to eventually take it here to NY. Suffice it to say, on both sides of the Atlantic, everyone is suffering in terms of attendance - I just went online and could find tickets for Hamilton in NY for tonight, tomorrow, etc. which pre-pandemic was near impossible.

several of the dates I checked had no discount at all. Everything at full price. I thought that too, it's only when you click on a particular seat that the reduced price comes up. The maximum price is £60 I think up to about February 9th from memory.

Yes. it's only when you click on the ticket that it tells you ACTUAL price, not what they say it is at the top of the seating plan. It's almost like they don't want you to buy them

Thanks for the info. On some dates when I went to the seating plan it showed the prices crossed out and said "now" with the new price and other dates just had normal price and no new price which is why I thought they hadn't been reduced.

I'm afraid I do scoff when I see Carrie trying to get everyone to vote for the show for the theatre awards.

When I listened to Andrew Lloyd Webber doing an interview on LBC he did say ticket says we’re brisk up to Christmas, but poor after that, so a good clue here.

Is it cheaper to just pause a show? I always assumed it's more expensive to keep paying actors, etc without drinks/programmes/merch money coming in.

Received an email today telling me my booking was cancelled as are all shows until Feb 9th (old news), and I'd be getting a refund. Which is strange because the only ticket I have booked is for the 9th. Anyone else get this?

Hmm just checked their booking site and the 9th is still taking bookings, so I hope not. But could have triggered the email anyway I guess.

I can never see anything to do with it without singing 'call me bad cinderella, in my own little corner...'
