First and last listen to her album done, nothing extraordinary. Confused by the arrangement of some of the song. Hated Let it Go and I Dreamed A Dream, especially the latter what happened to that song?
Her voice is pretty, and she clearly has a cracking belt and range but I think of other performers her age who have an even more cracking range and belt, they just don't have a huge Youtube following.
I loved her arrangement of Journey to the Past though. Now if we could just get Christy Altomare to sing that arrangement it would be even better.

Echo your thoughts on the album. Gave it a quick listen but hated the arrangements and orchestrations. Just felt a bit cheap and grated on me. Shame because her voice is lovely.

I lasted through about 2 of her backstage interviews for the Oliviers then had to give up - she just kept repeating the question she'd already had an answer to and clearly didn't know much about some of the shows, the questions were inane.

Her online stint wasn't good - I'm surprised she never asked anyone if they watched her YouTube channel - imagine if it had been Patti LuPone!
Like the time in the early 2,000's when Lorraine Kelly had someone doing Oscar aftershow party interviews and she was in major cooing mode as a couple of the Friends cast spoke to her reporter. They were asked who they had been most excited to meet at the Oscars and both said Paul McCartney. Then who should be next up on the carpet but Sir Paul "Ask him who he was excited to meet" yelled Lorraine not excited that her reporter was speaking to a legend. No doubt she expected Paul to reply that he 'd been excited to meet a couple of TV actors! "Well no-one really " replied Paul.

I’m afraid I wouldn’t cross the street to meet Paul McCartney.
I’m sure the feeling is mutual 😬

Who knows but I agree with her.
Life is too short to engage with trolls on Twitter

I'm guessing some people perhaps are not enamoured with the Heathers casting, which is fine, but I notice a trend on Twitter where people feel they have to copy the person they are talking about into their conversation.
Extremely rude!

Considering she's so "famous", I can't imagine she is all that thrilled to see her album barely get into the Top 50 last week and fall out of the Top 100 this week. Although I actually thought she would do better with this album. Usually YouTuber crap sells fast and in tonnes.

The album is on Spotify now...(Sorry if that's been noted!) I did buy it (I like the gal as a performer) it's a bit 'meh' in places- nothing outright bad but just a bit 'didn't blow my socks off'. I did love the Disney covers- and she's got a very Disney voice, and I don't say that as an insult. The Les Mis numbers also are very good- one is a 'hidden track' I assume as it's not listed.
I don't know the song she does with Oliver Ormson but I like it and their take on it. And What it Means to be a Friend and Somewhere that's Green are cute, perfectly serviceable versions- but probably never going to make my top 10. Wasn't fussed on Burn or Summertime, I don't quite think they fit her voice. But all in all a nice enough album. Will I listen to it over and over? probably not but for a dip in/sing along in the car type thing, it's nice.
I must confess I've never seen Heathers the film so wasn't rushing in a scrum for tickets...

I don't know the song she does with Oliver Ormson but I like it and their take on it. It's called 'You Matter To Me' and it's from the musical Waitress. Great song. I think the version on Rachel Tucker's album with Lee Mead might be my favourite 😁

I didn't realise that was from Waitress but I agree, the Tucker/Mead version is absolutely beautiful.

Yes that version is beautiful (I also think the best) and you can download it separately from Rachel's album.

The album sold under 2,000 copies first week which for someone with her fanbase was a fairly low number. Her books have been best sellers and her fanbase turns out in force when she is in shows, so something is a miss.

Maybe the initial glut of mail order sales don’t count towards the charts or something? Or maybe, just maybe, less than 2000 people make all of that noise? 😂

I think some of the criticism of Carrie here is a little unfair. She is a talented vocalist and performer, she’s been doing theatre since she was little. And if you find her YouTube videos irritating -just don’t watch them!

I’ve just put a ticket for sale on the noticeboard for the Magic of Animation concert next weekend if anyone wants a cheap one - it’s in the stalls and it’s not much money!!

Her affectations are INCREDIBLY annoying. I saw her concert last month with a friend and the anecdotes she was telling were boring and self-centred. Not a great personality imo, but her singing voice is pleasant and strong. Perhaps as she grows up a little she'll calm down.

Also it's possible to like someone but also find aspects of what they do irritating- I've said in this thread I like Carrie's behind the scenes type videos as they're interesting as a theatre-fan. But I find some of her other videos annoying- well I can't know that until I watch them can I?! That's like someone reviewing the concert saying 'It was a bit boring' and being answered with 'Don't go then' well they had to go to find out...!

So here is waht fletcher posted on instagram after seeing people saying they did not like her as veronica. I guess we can now close this entire forum ^^ This isn't just about some people not liking her as Veronica. It's people going out of the way to say negative things about her so that she can see it. Tagging her in posts etc. It's one thing not liking someone's performance but another to go out of your way to send that person a hateful comment.

It was posted in response to one comment on the West end live youtube video, not on her social medias or anything, and the comment was not hateful in any way. Personally I don't mind her and I think she is a good performer, but as a theater fan I feel sometimes disrespected by this sort of attitude when she could've just responded to the hundreds of comments praising her work instead of focusing on the one negative one. That being said, the West end live people talking about her social media following was disrespectful to her, a much better place to start a discussion about negativity and stunt casting that getting her fans to "bully" someone who gave their opinion on the video The full audio of the show is also available on youtube right now, don't know how long it'll stay but its worth a listen Do you know for sure that it's in response to just one comment on the video?? And she's only human. You can receive a ton of praise for something and 1 negative comment, but it's that one negative comment that always sticks with you!

I don't think this is about one singular comment. This is about numerous comments made about not only herself but also the rest of the cast. Jodie Steele posted on Twitter about seeing negative comments. In regards to Carrie I have seen numerous comments across Twitter, Youtube and Instagram attacking her for her weight.

I thought her response on the youtube comments was out of line. As they were That said I saw some truly awful comments on her instagram that were very personal about her looks and down right vile. So I can see why she has put that statement up, even though I don't agree with it.

didn't know this was about Carrie - just saw Maria Coyne post nearly the same thing (about someone she likes or whatever) and several other actors/actresses sharing it on Twitter
i don't get it why actors feel the need to read every comment on yt - you sometimes read them when tagged on Twitter but why scroll through yt for it?

Because if their life. If people are posting about your job, your performance, in an open public forum, human nature will follow that content inquisitively, wanting to know whats being said. Hoping to read the good comments, that will keep you going on a bad day, but inevitably coming across the hurtful, spiteful, negative ones.
