Jonathan over Richard for me but again I think there were subtler performances in other musicals equally worthy of a nomination but maybe less flamboyant.

You know who is gonna be robbed of a nomination because of the theatre it's in but she really should win it? Caroline O'Connor in The Rink. I love all these ladies who are gonna be nominated and love Rosalie, the eventual winner I think, in Company so much, but Caroline was amazing and it's a real shame it wasn't in a West End house.

Joanna Riding is much beloved by the Olivier Awards and she's about to step into a legendary role. If she gets good reviews she might even get a nod.

I don't know if this production of Follies is eligible as it's the exact same production just with a very slight cast change? She'll have to be truly outstanding to get the nod, as she did when taking over the role in My Fair Lady and winning. It's possible, but in such a competitive year for Actress in a Musical, I don't think it's going to happen for her.

I have to disagree with all the pro JB comments re Company and the Oliviers. His performance was very pantomimic when I saw the show a couple of weeks ago and to be honest, NGMT goes down so well because of the camp staging with the female priest and various surprise appearances. I also thought Mr Fleeshman gave quite a caricatured performance, he sounded like Bert/Ernie from Sesame St. IMHO I don’t think you deserve an Olivier nod because of a nice bod. I saw all the new musicals this year (apart from Tina, which I refused to pay such exorbitant prices for) and thought there were some terrific supporting performances that were less stagey and might attract Olivier attention. Guess we’ll see at the beginning of March. Here’s my list of eligible musicals with both Come From Away and Only Fools and Horses just sneaking in before the deadline. Chicago Phoenix Theatre Chess London Coliseum Come From Away Phoenix Theatre Company Gielgud Theatre The King And I London Palladium Kiss Me Kate London Coliseum Little Shop of Horrors. Playhouse Theatre Twelfth Night Young Vic Only Fools and Horses TR Haymarket Is Six eligible? I thought I read that the Arts is an affiliate whose shows are eligible. Arts is Affiliate While Six played the Arts last January 2018 - I don't think it had enough performances then.

And sadly, unless it extends, he will likely get a nomination because it is that kind of role, but it's too early to call considering he will be up against both Charlie Stemp and whoever plays Evan Hansen.

I think Rosalie Craig will win but as others have said that’ll be more down to how well loved and we’ll received Company has been. Sure she’s really good in the show, but personally I think Adrienne Warren is more deserving. Any other year and I think she’d probably be sweeping all the awards. I didn’t see The King And I so can’t comment on Kelli O’Hara, but sounds like she was wonderful too

My two favourite performances by actors in musicals were Zubin Varla in Fun Home and Stephen Matthews in Strictly Ballroom. The former was so detailed and complex, whilst the latter was underplayed and heartbreaking. I hope both these performers get a nod aside from the actors in Company.

I think if there is a threat at all it will be Adrienne because from what I've heard she is the reason to see that show so they will only honour Tina with that.

I really didn't think Rosalie's performance was anything particularly special, and Company will obviously be rewarded in other categories.

I feel like they are all lead roles though? I understand that Beverly/Rachel is the 'lead' of the show but actually she isn't really. I'm not entirely sure she has any more stage time or more of a starring role than any of the other cast members? t's very much an ensemble piece with all getting starring moments. She only has the one big solo and several of the others have big solo's too. I suppose you could say she is the lead though because she is the only one to play just two constant characters where as all the others play several different roles. It's a hard one. Who will be nominated for leads or supporting?

If I remember rightly, as the whole cast are listed below the title on Broadway, when the Tony Committee met to discuss the show, they decided to consider the entire cast as Supporting rather than move any of them up to lead. Best Play: The Inheritance, Sweat and Nine Night, maybe Home, I'm Darling or The Jungle. Actress: Sophie Okonedo, Patsy Ferran Actor: Ralph Fiennes, Kyle Soller Having seen 9 to 5 last night, I can see Bonnie Langford and/or Natalie McQueen being nominated for their performances.

I believe Sylvia is no longer eligible as during the run they declassified the show to a "workshop production" and on the site all performances were renamed previews. Remember, Waitress isn’t eligible this year! It will be the 2020 awards. I think Jonathan Bailey has a good shot, but it’s a really weak category this year to be honest. Can see Brian Conley being nominated also.
