When do the nominations come out? Normally about a month before the awards, so first week of March seems likely

How many nominations does each category usually get?
I think the New Musical category is going to be a hard one to whittle down.
I'm not that bothered as long as CFA, Six and FH are in there.

Interesting that both Nine Night and Home, I'm Darling are up for Best New Comedy rather than Best New Play. Atleast it gives Nine Night a chance over The Inheritance.

Are there really only four productions eligible for New Comedy? And five for Musical Revival? Got to be gutting for the Musical Revival that doesn't get one of the nom slots.
My predictions: Revival: Summer and Smoke OR Wild Duck. New Play: Inheritance. Comedy: Nine Night. Musical: Six OR Come From Away. Musical Revival: Company.

I think it'll be something like:
Musical Come From Away Fun Home Hadestown Six
Musical Revival Company The King and I ... and whilst I would guess Caroline, I have a feeling it could be Little Shop getting the last nomination.

What are the chances of Jamie Muscato getting a nom for Best Actor in a Musical? Just listening to the new Heathers cast recording, and Jamie is definitely the best thing about it. I also thought he was a highlight when I saw the show. I'm not sure if Heathers is a very Olivier type of show, and I'm not sure what that category is looking like atm, but I'd quite like to see him get a nomination.

In my opinion, that catagory isn't looking very lively at the moment. I too would like to see Jamiw get nominated, he was the best part of the show. Heathers will get shut out bar one or two nominations, it isn't deserving of any tech awards and one or two of the performances are worthy.

Who is this person (mentioned above)? I saw that glorious revival at the National and don't recall an actor of that name even in it. Nor is he mentioned on the website www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/shows/translations-2018Best Supporting Actor: Laurence Finlay (Translations)

If Rosalie Craig.does not get an Olivier Award I would be amazed. Still sore Billie from Yerma has not been give the chance to get her tony

If Rosalie Craig.does not get an Olivier Award I would be amazed. Still sore Billie from Yerma has not been give the chance to get her tony I can’t see anyone else winning given all the Company accolades, although personally for me I’d like to see Adrienne Warren get it for Turner (which I know she won’t). I haven’t seen such a powerhouse performance in a long time, and I’m just amazed she’s been able to put her heart and soul into Tina like that 7 times a week for nearly a year. That’s some stamina, wow!

At least she should hopefully have more of a chance at the Tony Awards to be given the recognition she deserves.

It'll definitely be either of those two who eventually win. Rosalie has completely revived a role, is great in the show and got rave reviews. Adrienne puts everything in the show, got rave reviews and is playing a legend. I haven't seen Tina yet but I don't imagine it will get any nominations other than Adrienne and maybe one or two more, but if they want to give Tina anything, it'll be Adrienne's to lose. Rosalie has the downside of Company being as successful artistically and critically as it has. It definitely wouldn't be a "let's give her the award because Company won't get anything else". It'll likely be the show with the most nominations this year. It's a toss up, I wouldn't want to call it who will win.

I agree and it doesn't really deserve any other nominations either to be fair. Apart from Adrienne (who is terrific) it's a pretty rotten show. Rosalie will no doubt win because of the acclaim for 'Company' and she'll benefit from that. She's the weakest link in the cast but she is the lead and the whole gender switch of the show etc will be hard for the awards committee to ignore. The only thing we can hope is that Patti and Jonny B both win in the supporting categories and they won't want to give 3 of the 4 acting awards to the same show seeing as it will win in lots of the non-acting categories too.

Fun Home is likely to pack the supporting actress category, although they might split their vote for the award. Come From Away also has plenty of opportunities for supporting nominations too. Bobby/Bobbie is always thought of as a weak role regarding awards but I think that Craig has easily surpassed the men who have played it, even Adrian Lester who made it work in the nineties Donmar revival (and who won the Olivier for it).

It will likely get one nomination for Elenor Kane who deserves a nomination, and there is Jenna Russell who is likely to also get a nomination. But with only four slots, there is no way Patti will not be in there, and then you have whoever gets nominated for Lady Tiang in King and I (due to the Ruthie not playing the role on opening night and only doing half the performances), Abioma from Caroline or Change, and Rachel Tucker and Emma Salvo from Come From Away. There is also an outside chance of Bonnie Langford because she got great reviews for 9 to 5, I have a real feeling she may well get nominated and Jodie Steele and Rebecca Lock for Heathers. I don't doubt Elenor Kane will be nominated, but also considering Fun Home was a limited run in the Summer, I could see Jenna getting bumped out for three other actresses. My guess, at this point, is: Elenor Kane (Fun Home) Bonnie Langford (9 to 5) Patti LuPone (Company) Rachel Tucker (Come From Away)

Tough category, though. For another children’s role I also think that Grace Doherty/Clara Read stand would be there or thereabouts for The Wild Duck.

As much as I loved Fun Home, it's not the type of production like Hamilton was, just getting nominated for everything because of its title. So I don't think three actresses from the same show will be nominated in one year this year, especially with the potential for multiple nominees in Come From Away, Company and Fun Home, as well as singular performances in other shows. The odds are really stacked against you. I suspect the girls and Jenna may get bumped out, or one of them will at least, just because of the other nominees. It's a shame there isn't more male performances to buzz about, as Actor in a Musical doesn't seem that exciting this year compared to the other three catagories.

I'd also happily throw a vote in for Cat Simmons in Come From Away. She just broke my heart and did a really fantastic job.
