For those taking about a possible DVD after the cinema broadcast. Bonnie told me at stage door that it's first going into cinemas and onto BroadwayHD and hopefully a DVD after that. So from how she said it, it sounds to me like a DVD is not definitely happening yet but they're hopeful. Tap shoes crossed!! Not to put a damper on this hope, but I don't think BroadwayHD has ever released any of their shows on DVD and it doesn't make sense from an economical point of view - after all they want to sell subscriptions to their streaming service and releasing DVDs would run contrary to that. I completely agree. 'Holiday Inn', however, which was filmed by BHD was released on DVD&BluRay as a special feature for the re-release of the original movie.

Glad to see the final show selling well despite the size of the venue. The front block and half the back block of the Stalls are pretty much sold out, Royal Circle has about a quarter of seats left and Grand is about half full thus far, with the Balcony still having a bunch of cheap seats left. Glad to see that it looks like alot of fans of the show will be there and the atmosphere should be great like the cast change.

All assuming they're sold out - and not just held back for later release, or being sold through different agencies.
But I do think both shows that day will be packed. Probably the other evening shows that week will be busy too, not so sure about the matinees on unusual days.

Welcome to the board theatregod! I too wish they would come to Scotland, namely Edinburgh. I could see it filling the Festival theatre stage nicely.

From what I've heard, it will be focusing on International productions first, alarm Australia and Europe, before it tours the UK. Which is great to see this production go to other markets whilst we get the Cinema release.

Finally gave in and booked for closing night. Managed to get a mid stalls seat which will make a nice change. Will be nice to be able to see ‘all the spectacle’ on closing night without being right up front.

Saw the show from one of my favourite seats tonight, A13.
The cover screen wasn’t working. Waited as long as I could in the hope it would be fixed and left myself with a challenge to get to my seat (one woman couldn’t move). In the end, they announced the covers over the speakers, which I believe was every role apart from Billy (no female covers though). Must be a bug going around.
Matthew Goodgame as Julian Marsh Philip Bertiioli as Pat Denning Mark McKerracher as Abner Dillon Ryan Gover as Bert Barry Martin McCarthy as Andy Lee Alyn Hawke as Mac/Doc/Thug Freddie Clements as the Thief
As you can guess, they were very short of male ensemble.
I did think Matthew was losing his voice (and he messed up some lines he wouldn’t normally get wrong), so well done to him for getting through it, especially as numbers were so low.
Philip and Martin danced in Plenty of Money (to make the numbers up to 10), as well as the first half of 42nd Street.
Zac Watts got to be a gangster and shoot Freddie, but didn’t get to bow at the end.
I’ve seen all the covers before, with the exception of Ryan as Bert. He kept his potrayal simple but did a good job.
The chap next to me got talking and turned out to be the tour manager for the first UK tour of 42nd Street. Very interesting to talk to. He’d also usually be in the bad behaviour thread, but I’ll refrain.
Think the cast had a hard time with so many people off their usual tracks, but it made for an interesting performance, with a well deserved standing ovation at the end.

Now see, these three, despite Ryan being made to look ridiculous and Alyn in his age makeup, aren't these three just the most beautiful men! Good lord, this show really picked the hottest guys to be on that stage.

Matthew Goodgame as Julian Marsh Philip Bertiioli as Pat Denning Mark McKerracher as Abner Dillon Ryan Gover as Bert Barry Martin McCarthy as Andy Lee Alyn Hawke as Mac/Doc/Thug Freddie Clements as the Thief That's the kind of show I love! You didn't get 4 person Dames instead of 5 did you? I'm guessing Luke came out of Dames retirement to make the ensemble up to 4 as I'm assuming Tom Partridge was off since Ryan was Bert leaving just Liam as a usual Dames person but you has Freddie and Zac on as swings. However if they used Luke it'd be interesting to know where they put him since Liam is in the position Luke used to be (I'd guess in Ryan's spot). Ever since someone mentioned seeing Dames with just 3 ensemble I've wanted to see it but the closest I've come is when Liam was Billy, Philip was Pat and Tom Partridge and Freddie were off. For a minute I was hopeful that there'd only be the three of them (Ryan, Martin and Zac) but then I remembered that Luke used to do Dames in the first year and of course that's what happened.

Thanks, back right for Luke makes complete sense, leaving Liam in his normal spot and Luke at least on the side he used to be on. No Joel either? You said Freddie was the thief.

I’ve muddled Joel and Adam up. Adam was there, Joel wasn’t.

Visit number seven on Wednesday. No sign that the cast are winding down, or just going through the motions, as some have reported is the case at Dreamgirls. I think I should report myself to the Bad Behaviour thread. I'm not saying I'm a big 'ed, but the two women sitting behind me decided that rather than have a restricted view, they would prefer to sit in the vacant seats on the very end of Row C...which have a restricted view! I am genuinely conscious of those around me, but I'm not tall just to spite other theatregoers, and a lack of legroom usually prevents me from slumping very much. Tom was back playing Julian, as were Christopher as Bert and Matthew as Pat. Although the company was back to almost full strength, there was a new face in the male chorus for Getting Out of Town. 42nd Street is set in 1933, and this lovely gentleman looked like he was born in 1933, or soon after. I did wonder if, in addition to a complimentary glass of champagne, our good friend tonyloco had also been offered a small part! Whoever he was, and whyever he was in just that one number, good luck to him. What a show to be part of, however briefly.

Were they filming for a TV show (whatever the modern day version of Jim'll Fix It) is? Or making someone's lifelong dream come true?

No, TallPaul, that wasn't me in the male chorus for Getting Out of Town in 42nd Street on Wednesday night. As much as I would love to be up there on that stage, I regret that my days of treading the boards are now behind me. And I was actually born in 1937 so I am four years too young to fit the description of whoever it was that caught your eye. But thanks for the thought!
