King Kong in the Dominion 2020/21. Really? It's just a prediction, not informed. Can genuinely see this happening though. It seems to have got through spring well on Broadway and is heading to Japan so producers are obviously keen to get it further out. Imagine a big Kong on the exterior canopy of the Dominion!

King Kong in the Dominion 2020/21. Really? I saw it on Broadway and visually it is SENSATIONAL. It just needs a whole new score. My mouth dropped open many times - it is just brilliant. Staging 11/10 music 3/10.

Dolly rumours seems to come and go more than Glinda and her bubble at the minute.

Can anyone be bothered to go back through this thread and calculate the % of correct predictions?

So Carrie, Celinde, Ramin and Ben were again together this last weekend working on something apparently. I still think they're doing Anastasia. It's too soon to be working on Frozen, right? Can anyone recognize those music sheets? http://instagram.com/p/BvWmZKKhqjW

This was at the bottom of an email I received today for Friends Fest. It would appear as though the Plastics are coming to London...? imgur.com/pnborat

What are the chances of The Band's Visit coming over? Hopefully non-existent. A woeful, boring musical.

This could be nothing so a big pinch of salt but Curve have tweeted about it being Adrian Moles birthday today and teased a "very special present" on thursday and i'm wondering if there is going to be some announcement of another Adrian Mole Musical run either there? Or maybe a tour or other London run? Again, might not be that at all and somethung trivial but thought i might add that into the mix.

So we still have a few musical houses still in need of a show right? 9 to 5 don't appear to have announced an extension thus far so we still need a show in there come August. Don't think that The Piccadilly has a show either past August. Am i missing any others? Come on mrbarnaby give us the goss....

I don't think they are going to rush Moulin Rogue over yet, it hasn't even opened on Broadway.

We have three big shows with "intentions" to transfer to London: Pretty Woman (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-47414475) Mean Girls (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-6444791/BAZ-BAMIGBOYE-cover-Mean-Girls-way-West-End.html) Groundhog Day
Then there were also rumours of Me and My Girl transferring from Chichester and My Fair Lady from New York. We also have Mockingbird rumoured to transfer - presumably that will take one of the larger theatre's.
Of the other shows currently playing in New York, I don't see Cher Show/Be More Chill/Prom/Kong/Beetlejuice making it over. The two which I think have the most potential (other than those listed at the start of the post) are Ain't Too Proud and Tootsie. Ain't Too Proud is doing great business in NYC and London audiences seem to love these Jukebox/Motown kind of shows. Tootsie it will be interesting to see how it does. London loves a bit of drag and with Kinky Boots now closed, this could certainly fill a gap in the market. That said, for both of them I think it will be a while yet.

I think Pretty Woman is going to be the next big transfer. Mean Girls is intend to get the US tour out first before setting their sights to the West End. Groundhog Day is stuck in prugatory, the US tour got cancelled, Waitress is beat them to the West End and, I haven’t seen any regional houses in America rushing to put it on. Tim Minchin’s tour might create some buzz for the show but, investors are probably weary about putting money in after it flopped on Broadway and, let’s not forget, it wasn’t selling well in London before the reviews came out.

Groundhog Day's failure to transfer so far is a strange one.
I seem to recall an announcement that Sonia Friedman had established a partnership with the Old Vic with first dibs on transfers and so forth but nothing seems to have come of that.

Groundhog Day's failure to transfer so far is a strange one. I seem to recall an announcement that Sonia Friedman had established a partnership with the Old Vic with first dibs on transfers and so forth but nothing seems to have come of that. It lost a shed load of money on Broadway so it's not that surprising there is a lack of interest in opening it in London.
