Excuse me, I am totally not! I wouldn’t put nonsense on here. My information came from A) Cameron himself B) a box office manager who saw Bette at the theatre C) a friend who works for ATG D) a friend who works at Claridges where Bette was staying E) agent friends who know what castings are coming up F) a producer mate from Stage Ents G) three stage door manager friends H) actors in current shows I) two front of house managers I know J) various contacts I know in New York K) Theatre angels and investors I know. L) friends in London/New York who know the composers directly (who would have an idea where there shows are going). M) Techy mates N) other producers I know who tell me about rights and what has been taken off the amateur circuit and so on. So no... I’m not “making it all up” - and I wanted to share the information with people I believed would want to hear the lastest rumours and happenings in the theatre world that we are very passionate about. You don’t know who the hell I am, or the contacts I have SO YOU STOP IT.... So are they rumours or happenings? Does Cameron Mackintosh often reveal solid information about shows to people that would then post it online? I find it surprising. Then again I don't know how producers work. How on earth would Cameron know that when he’s talking to me at 2am at a drunken party! Lol....

Dear kind Stephen, you are just being an enabler now. What this forum needs is an intervention (or an exorcism).

Does the term "season" apply in London? I don't think it does. meh, probably not, but I like it so I use it! Usually in connection with a time of year, so ‘Christmas season’ or ‘summer season’ etc.

I feel like I should keep a record of what people say is going to happen and then do some kind of awards at the end of the year for the person who got the most right and wrong...

Oh don’t worry Andy...it’s all in here (taps head). I would think that the indiscretions will stop pretty quickly once people realise who the ‘mole’ is!

What new musicals should we expect late this year/next year? I presume there’ll be many and I’d lkke to keep a list of what I want to see, especially with Christmas coming up! Have we got strong rumours for the Piccaddily (after Officer), Shaftesbury, Savoy (after 9 to 5)? When are Bat and Aladdin rumours to be closing? So exciting

Here are my predictions...no sources whatsoever just guesses Savoy - 9 to 5 then Mean Girls late 2019/early 2020 Prince Edward - Mary Poppins (presuming it to be not a hugely long run) Drury Lane - Frozen Piccadilly - Officer then no idea what could go there?! Maybe Mean Girls if they brought it over quickly? Shaftesbury - no idea how long the renovation will last, a lot could change before it reopens. Can’t see Anastasia transferring, not sure it would do so well over here. Dominion - again no idea. It’s a huge theatre so can’t think of anything fitting well unless it was a filler like The Bodyguard was. Gieguld would be my best bet for Les Mis Have I missed any out? Mean Girls is a certain to transfer, the film is just as popular over here. Also remembered Me and my Girl was rumours but now can’t see many theatres suitable for it. Thought the Savoy would be good before Mean Girls but now that’s for 9-5

One day, people will realize that musicalmarge is making it ALL up. Stop it, dear. Just stop it. Excuse me, I am totally not! I wouldn’t put nonsense on here. L) friends in London/New York who know the composers directly (who would have an idea where their shows are going). M) Techy mates N) other producers I know who tell me about rights and what has been taken off the amateur circuit O) BAFTA hanging out there you get to hear everything about the world of TV film and theatre and investment P) the music world from Empire to Sony Q) people I know who work from concierge for the top 5 major London hotels.. (ok you get the point). So no... I’m not “making it all up” - and I wanted to share the information with people I believed would want to hear the lastest rumours and happenings in the theatre world that we are very passionate about. Groundhog Day into the Piccadilly please! I would love to see this in the West End. I had a great time seeing it on Broadway during previews. I think it could do well here but not in a theatre any bigger than the Piccadilly. I'm thinking it would maybe be a better fit in a theatre like the Garrick if that was possible. I don't think I could imagine Groundhog Day at the Garrick, the stage would be too small for it. But I understand about it needing a smaller capacity house because, as much as I love it and want it back already, I'm now starting fear that it may just end up doing 6 months here also, maybe a year tops. The hype from the Old Vic production may have died down a bit now, so I could imagine it doing another limited season there before hitting the West End I reckon.

You don’t know who the hell I am, what job I have, or the contacts I have or the amount of people I know And that is exactly why people will question your credibility until you get a few things right, same as we would for anyone else in the same position. Doesn't mean people don't believe you, but scepticism is inevitable with unproven sources no matter who they say they are/know!

I wonder if Nanny McPhee will be circling any of the theatres that are going to be closed for refurbishment in 2019 like Drury Lane or the Shaftesbury for their eventual reopening in 2020? Might be feasible for the Piccadilly if they are ready to come in 2019.

So it's the first 'proper' day of September tomorrow, people are back from holidays, kids are back at school, Christmas is looming, diaries start getting filled up - surely this is the time for lots of new annoucements? Bring them on (and make them good ones)

I really don’t see Anastasia coming. Maybe it’s because I’m a bit unphased by the show as whole, but in my head I can’t see it fitting comfortably into any of our theatres for a reasonable run.

I think it could probably play one of the mid sized venues quite comfortably for a year, and then tour. Whilst the nostalgia isn't quite what it is in the USA, its not exactly a completely unknown entity over here. Plus is appeals to the family market, which many other incoming shows (Waitress, Come From Away, Dear Evan Hansen) don't.
