To note, I only put Galvin in here to say he would be a good match for Laura as opposed to Jack, so this specific post is relevant to the West End production so please don't move that one.

Jeremy Jordan will probably be out the next few days because his wife just gave birth to their first kid!

Managed two dayseats just before midday - Row B £25. So worth asking even if you can’t get in for opening.

What’s the view like? 32E is available for £52 but it says it’s restricted and I wouldn’t wanna pay that if I can’t see the left of the stage and the kitchen area and counter etc, as quite a lot happens there. I’d like to try and catch Charlotte Riby as Becky before Marisha is back (tomorrow I think).

It's fine. You miss a corner of the notice board is all. Really nothing at all. Grab it, good deal. thank you for the info - had to cancel tonight plans though because my boss decided to give me urgent work at 5pm 😐 Also that ticket’s no longer available, so at least someone else is gonna get a pretty good value seat tonight 😄

All levels open tonight and seems rather busy! Side seats B6/7 and nothing missed at all. I’d probably go for this side over the other side so you can definitely see the bits behind the counter.

Nice! 👍 How were Charlotte Riby and Piers Bate as Becky and Dr P respectively? Gutted I missed them! Also my friend who was at the show just texted me to say how amazing She Used To Be Mine was this evening so I'm hating work right now 😐

Rear dress circle has been on TKTS Monday-Thursday this week for £20.50. Not bad really if you can’t get a reduction at the theatre.

Last minute trip to see this tonight. This Broadway transfer feels very Broadway with long queues outside to get in and smell the pie. Also many visitors from the US in the audience LAPPING it up!
Given the title I always expected this musical to be full of jokes about the service industry. To my delight it wasn’t like that at all. I found it to be a very engaging watch and was laughing throughout.
It took a little while to get going and although the opening number lacked something at the beginning it made more sense by the end. The cast were strong and, as I expected Laura Baldwin and Jack McBrayer are VERY funny. McBrayer isn’t a great singer but he was well cast with his comic abilities.
I was sat in row V in the stalls which is a great seat given the price. Felt close enough. There was a bit of an issue understanding lots of the lyrics but this didn’t really matter as they are probably the weakest thing in this show. It doesn’t matter though as it’s fairly light, funny and has a huge heart. I was in tears of joy by the end.
Although many songs were forgettable ‘It Only Takes a Taste’ was catchy and Katharine McPhee sings a show stopping ‘She Used to be Mine’ towards the end.
I’m a bit wary of an onstage band unless it seems to suit the piece but they sound great here and it’s nice when we do get to see them.
There were a few moments of ensemble clapping choreography that seemed a bit odd to me but that’s being really picky!
This just scraped into being a five star show for me.
I may even return for a second pie fix.

Do you think it’s a possibility Katharine will be singing at that instead? Although if she is its a bit crap for people buying Waitress tickets if they’ve not announced that. I have friends from the US staying that weekend and they wanna see Waitress and Come From Away. I rang the box office to check and the person I spoke to didn’t seem to know.

I may even return for a second pie fix. I was there last night too! I noticed there were a lot of Americans in the audience also. In the queue to get into the theatre an American couple behind us told us they voted for Katharine on American Idol all those years ago and wanted to see her when they saw she was in the show! 😆 My friend I was with loved it but thought Act 1 was a bit slow to get going. This is my 4th visit to the London show now and I think the cast and ensemble is really tight now. I don’t think Jack’s singing has improved an huge amount lol but I do think his Ogie is much stronger now than early in previews. He got a lot of laughs and was v funny. Also thought Laura was great last night! SUTBM Katharine added in this high note in the last big note which was cool and which also means I have listened to this song way too many times that I noticed 😐 Also I think the Bad Idea reprise scene and song is my favourite moment of the show. The audience eats that bit up! Nurse Norma also continues to be MVP! 😅

Glad this seems to be picking up a bit of a head of steam at last. The comments on Ogie’s singing? Well,I see the character as a bit of a silly fool and the quality of the singing voice is neither here nor there imo.Musical theatre has a history of characters who provide supporting light-relief.Oklahoma,Carousel and many others include such roles and Ogie is cast in this vein,I believe.

I see your point, but in my opinion Ogie’s song is one of the catchiest of the score and I think it’s a great song despite maybe being a bit problematic lyrically. Christopher Fitzgerald sings and acts it brilliantly on the cast recording, and as funny as Jack can be, on my next visit I’d love to actually hear this song sung!

Must admit I have only seen the London version.I took the interpretation as read but my daughter who knew the show from being more Broadway savvy than myself didn’t like the WE Ogie at all.
