Or maybe all the talks are in the languages other than English? the most obvious suggestion. Usually when the tour comes so fat it is not the marketing from the initial country who does the promo but local agencies who know the market and audiences better. UPD the quoting is lost but I am referring to "I meant those are still the people who are in charge of marketing I presume. And you'd expect them to keep people outside the UK excited about it. There is zero talk about this, even on social media" Read more: theatreboard.co.uk/post/59018/edit#ixzz4LRKLFc5I

I'm a Wicked fan from Hong Kong. They have been promoting the show and there's some presence on facebook. Actually more than I expected. But it's a very different crowd here. People do get very excited about shows coming to town but most of us don't follow musicals or theatre in general. And tbh Wicked is one of the lesser known big shows here. If you'd check out the promos: www.facebook.com/LunchboxTheatricalProductionsHongKong/

A tweet Jodie has replied to seems to suggest that one of the shows (I presume the matinee) was a witch switch!

Jodie Steele was on as Elphaba for both shows (1st October, 2016). Jodie went on as Elphaba mid-show during the matinee and also did the evening show (2nd October, 2016) Corrected

I guess they'll stay in (SE-)Asia for a while before returning to Europe (if at all). Wouldn't make much sense to ship the set from the UK to Asia back to Europe and then once again to Asia.

I hope they come to Europe at some point though. Otherwise they should have just called it an Asian Tour

Judging by tweets it seemed that Jodie was on as Elphaba on Wednesday!

Jodie doesn't seem to be tweeting her dates at the moment, but judging by who she has replied to and who has tweeted her, I think so far this week she has been on:
Wednesday 12th October Thursday 13th October both shows Sunday 19th October
Think last week she was just on for one show, the matinee on Sunday 9th.

Her microphone cut out for a few seconds (during one of the worst possible moments of the song) but anyway!

The tour is going to Istanbul from October 11- November 5 2017. It's kind of weird they suddenly announce dates for late next year, but I'm glad they're getting close to Europe.

A few countries spring to mind: Korea (Seoul), Australia (Sydney/Melbourne), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Taiwan (Taipeh). Maybe also Japan (Tokyo/Osaka)

I really hope they don't spend the entire tour in Asia. Well, my best guest is that Istanbul is the first (?) stop of the European leg of this tour and that some of these stops will be between Shanghai and Istanbul. The new UK and Ireland tour commences in February 2018, so assuming four week stops, that'd leave room for three more stops in Europe (one each in November, December and January) before returning to the UK.

Possibly. I'd prefer some more stops in Europe. I think it's a shame that they'll do relatively little stops for a global tour.
