'It's Tennis Night in America' to quote Jenna Maroney.
Last year I was at Centre Court for the Quarters. Tennis is the best sport.
Who do you want to win? I want Rafael Nadal and somebody new on the ladies side of the draw.

Gotta cheer on Andy. But I do wish there were more young UK players coming through.

I am spitting at the moment. I have just seen a picture on Facebook of a distant relative sipping Pimms and basking in the glory of the posh seats at Wimbledon yet again, as her daughter has the sort of job whereby she automatically gets Wimbledon Centre Court seats 'because she can'. Meanwhile, I have failed in the ballot yet again and am making do with the telly. Bitter, moi?

It's a thing isn't it, seeing people at Wimbledon on the telly, people, who should be elsewhere or who are with 'not their spouses'. The cameras deliberately focus on celebs and of course get close ups thereby of ordinary folk and what with pause facility etc we can nail 'em. Should be in an episode of Lewis. 😂😂

Cannot agree with you on Tennis is the best sport, obviously that is Football but I really enjoy Tennis and do adore Tim, even though he is obnoxious, which gives him his stubbornness and determination to be Wimbledon champion. Tim being twice champion with elevate the sport for youngsters. Anyone watching today, who famous was in the Royal Box?

Have you ever tried getting the ticketmaster tickets either at 9am the morning before or at midday the day before that? I had my mum and sister on button clicking duty this morning and the moral of the story is don't give up after a couple of minutes because it says it's sold out. My mum kept checking and even though you'd expect the tickets to be long gone by 9:45 she managed to get us centre court tickets for tomorrow. They are in the back row but I don't care, we managed to get tickets last year too the same way. Of course it's not much use if work isn't flexible but luckily I am really busy from next week and have some time off this week!

Did anyone see Sue Barker's documentary about previous winners on Sunday? I thought it was really good. I just would've liked to hear from more previous winners.

Ok, I'm going to have a Wimbledon whingette.
Will someone please please bring back the seventies? This is so booooooring. They take the full amount of time between points and changing ends and all for what? A loud UURRRRRRG, followed by a 900 mile-an-hour service that no one can get back and then the camera panning to (a) supposed z-lebs that I haven't a clue who they are or (b) to whichever member of the general public is improvising using a strawberry punnet for a hat because the temperature's above 15 degrees so it's "hot" doncha know?
I used to love tennis. When they actually hit balls back and forth. It were better in t'olden days.

Unfortunately I can't manage it this year, but will definitely have a go next summer, if the ballot fails (and if I can remember!).

This match between Caroline Wozniacki and Timea Babos is good. Wozniacki is acting a bit of a diva.

Can't believe the amount of retiring going on in the Men's Singles. 3 over the 2 days of play so far, with 2 today alone! Feels like Andy Murray is the only top-seeded player that has played an entire match!!
It's been hinted at that some players who know full well that they are not fit enough to start competing due to injury or whatever, will of course say nothing as then they don't get their substantial bags of money for playing....I think something might be done about that after this year!

I am a bit of a fan...every year I go in for the ballot for tickets ....I also make my sister and all my work mates do it!(I provide steamed addressed envelopes for people so they don't forget) Have been to lots of matches and last year finally struck lucky and got to see Andy Murray win Wimbledon!!! This year am on Court 2 next Monday...second row behind the server....have fun trying to spot the forum badge from that distance! I also have a party after work at my place first Friday of the tournament...I pick lots of pick-your-own strawberries and whip up lots of cream....work people turn up from 5pm onwards (bring your own booze, I have some prosecco for starters!) and we sit outside if nice ....jukebox on with speakers outside, table tennis table for the energetic amongst us...the TV is on inside with the tennis but we tend to forget about it! I don't bother with more food, we get fish and chips/curry/Indian takeaway as they are all about 20m from my house....life's too short to cook when you can be watching theatre/tennis! I LOVE WIMBLEDON!!!!!

We're going today, having secured court 2 tickets in the ballot.
Last year we got returns for Centre through Ticketmaster so always worth trying that. We sat two rows behind Sir David of Attenborough.

Looking forward to Dustin Brown vs Andy Murray. Dustin is always great fun and he'll play up to the crowd.
I hope if and when Sue Barker retires from Wimbledon that they get Annabel Croft to front the coverage.

Enjoy tomorrow I'm going next week with a friend who got lucky in the ballot this year (at first time of entering!)

Just watching the Konta match. It's clearly rather warm down south (!) and there are loads of people fanning themselves It reminded me of the discussion in (I think) the bad behaviour thread- surprised the players don't complain.
