Have torn a tendon in my shoulder and badly bruised my coccyx with my netball fail, there is literally no position that is comfortable currently though I'll take uncomfortable over down right pain filled. Like when you get a bad cold and realise never fully appreciated ease of breathing before now realise I've really taken sitting and lying down for granted.

Ouch! Poor Peggs!
Time to get the ibuprofen out - it’s not just for alleviating pain, it’s getting the swelling to go down that really helps your body to heal.
I always knew that exercise was bad for you....

Very jetlagged (flying to the US while completely exhausted and only having 3 hours sleep the night before didn't help) but as a plus I was up and wandering in Central Park by 8am and then had a pleasant morning flea market shopping.
Now a lunch pit stop before my first show of the trip (I couldn't face one last night as I would have fallen asleep), which is The Band's Visit.

Flying home to America for the next week to celebrate Thanksgiving later today. Had to wake up real early to finish packing and get some last minute work done. First time flying longhaul BA, (I usually fly home on American Airlines), so it is going to be an adventure later today.

I arrived home this afternoon to find half a cement dog in the alley next to my house.
There's no more to this story. It's as baffling as it sounds.

Ah dogs! Man's best friend. Loyal. Faithful. Helpful. So clever they can guide a blind person onto a train or even sniff out cancer.
So I fell flat on my face as I walked out of the kitchen. Flat. As I was lying there, trying to decide which bit hurt the least, Waggy Tibs roused herself from her bed in the corner and started to pad over.
'Oh, that's so sweet!' I thought. Maybe I can get her to fetch my phone. Actually, on second thoughts, maybe not. But how nice of her to come and investigate. I've heard how dogs sit with their owners for hours under such circumstances. Maybe we can bond until I can get myself upright.
'Waggy!' I groaned as she approached. 'That's my girl. Have you come to......'
.......step over my body and saunter off to lie behind the sofa.
(And I swear I could hear her tutting and see her rolling her eyes.)😖🙄

Oh good Tibidabo it's not just my dog that does that then. My old dog would have taken the opportunity to possibly sit on you at that point and suffocate you, of the currents, one would not even notice and then other would just look embarrassed and pretend not to have noticed.

Been on a downer today, I was working from home but didn't sleep well last night as my head was all over the place for no reason at all plus had a dry mouth too. Didn't have tv or radio on whilst working today and trying to clear my throat last night I've got into the habit of doing a silly little cough.
Went for a couple of hours kip before I'm A Celeb but I'm still an f***ed up, self centered, hypochondriac, depressive Brexiteer.

Finally back home here in Texas for the week and got extended family seeing my family the next few days. Me and my wife have a bet on how long it will take before somone asks about the "no-go" zones they see all the time on Fox News. I give it until 5 pm tomorrow.

Why are Christmas socks a thing that exists?
"Yeah, socks are OK, I guess, but I'd really like some that I have to put away somewhere for 51 weeks of the year."

Actually, maybe Tibidabo can help, as she seems to be laying around doing nothing but play with her dog at the moment Oi! If she'd wanted to play I wouldn't have minded! She beggered off, didn't she? So I ended up playing with myself. Ooh err matron...🤭

Why are Christmas socks a thing that exists? "Yeah, socks are OK, I guess, but I'd really like some that I have to put away somewhere for 51 weeks of the year." Now the last few years we've gone secret sock santa which frankly was a great relief as it took the stress out of buying and meant I actually got something with a purpose but yes I spend the year pushing them continually back into the cupboard. The challenge will then be to wash them fast enough to actually get to wear them more than once in December.

Christmas socks are perfect laundry-day socks - because they're the ones you are guaranteed not to have worn already! I buy everyone in my family a pair of Christmas socks every year - because you have to get socks for Christmas! And it's funny when you spot them wearing them at other times of the year.

Ha ha TallPaul. Just rub it in whydoncha?! When I first read it I hadn't read the article and wondered why Women's Own had a dog and, more to the point, what you were doing reading it! I thought you might be a secret nit...sorry...knitter. Seriously, when you look at those videos of dogs trying to get long sticks sideways through the cat flap you do wonder how some of their relatives are trained to get unsighted people onto trains etc. Go Bowsa!

Just rub it in whydoncha?! I'm a dab hand at embrocating! Say the word and I'll hop on a train. Two hours in the quiet coach should be just enough time to finish the pair of Christmas socks I've been working on for Matthew.

I seem to have an excessive amount of socks, I think I could last a no th without needing to wash any though that would generate an airing cupboard challenge. But Christmas socks aren't like we rotations, you can wear them about 12th night without bringing bad luck down on you? I don't need any more of that.
