After the despicable way the department I work in was treated by our (American) CEO and senior executive team, I now have the Sunday Blues. I normally enjoy my work, but I do not enjoy working for this company anymore. They might be in for a shock the next few months, and realise Europeans do not take an American approach very well, and find themselves left with only half a department. Sorry to hear this, and the health news…I hope things look up for you soon. Thank you!

A nice positive end to the working day today with being offered a promotion to the departmental management team of the lab where I work. So after a couple of weeks where it just seemed everyday was constantly firefighting problems, it is nice to have something positive to deal with. Congratulations! Thanks. Much appreciated.

After what has been a very long week in work it is great to put on my “on leave” email on and turn off the work What’s App group chat (I learnt the hard way last time I didn’t do it and got bombarded with texts at 6am 😡). As a bonus it is pay day as well. On my way now to get the train to London for what will hopefully be a great week of theatre

Someone stabbed to death downstairs last night. MPS tent, lots of tape, people in those forensic suits and masks all over. I was watching The Bear and torch lights started playing on the living room wall (first floor). Didn't think too much of it and went to bed soon after. That was about 1am. Presumably the police. That's the 3rd within 300m in a year (the other was a double), a 4th maybe 800m down the hill. Teenagers.
ETA: he was 16.

1 week and 15 shows later, that concludes my London trip. A really great week of theatre seeing lots of great stuff on stage, a bit of celeb spotting and meeting up with some board members. The decent weather was an added bonus and all the folk I booked to see on stage turned up. It’s been great London. See you at the end of the year for one final visit.

Just a quiet Sunday.
Bit of a lie in.
Scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream for breakfast - or as I call it 'Celebrating my diabetes'.
1.5 hours of studying.
As my current scales told me yesterday I weighed 46.5kg, I ordered new ones which arrived today - 1.5kg lost in 10 days though. Very happy with that.
Both to prepare for my holiday and to get a healthier lifestyle, I got just under 6,500 steps in whilst it was raining.
Probably shouldn't mention I stopped for a roast dinner along the way.
Finished 'Wolf Hall' by Hilary Mantel - took me about a third of the book to get into her style of writing, but now hooked. 'Bring Up The Bodies' and 'The Mirror and The Light' are lined up already.
My body is somewhat protesting at the increased activity.
Just going to fit in more study before bed.

I'm on strong meds, atm. Total brain fog. Can barely work out which way around my trousers go.
Do you know how you really know the're working? You start enjoying tv you've never been near before.
I'm all over Married at First Sight. Genius.

Just found out I passed my first module of my Open University course with 73%! I am so happy! Well done. Being nosy, what's your subject? I indulged myself into something I've been wanting to study for years - English Literature and Creative Writing. Has absolutely no bearing on my current career in finance. 😂 The first two years (studying part-time) is a flight through all of the Arts and Humanities, so I've touched upon arts, music, history, Classical Studies, philosophy etc.

That sounds great. There's surely a lot of crossover between finance and the arts, esp. theatre

My niece is a model and has recently done a campaign for Holland Cooper Clothing. Obviously I had a look at the website.
Now whenever I'm scrolling on other websites, my niece pops up on the adverts.
It's lovely to see her face pop up at random times of the day. 😀
