even a nice little rendition of Tomorrow from Annie right in the middle of Whetherspoons by Sam if I remember correctly. Christ, no memory of that... I blame Ryan for buying that last bottle of wine... Don't worry, wine does crazy things to all of us, things that can only be remembered by us relatively sober-ish people (which is why I don't touch the devil grape juice anymore lol)...thought it was only polite to remind you

I must admit, one more glass of the rosè wine would of sent me over the edge but I had a train to catch.

Only because I didn't see the Captain Morgans behind the bar until I bought my last drink, then it would have been a different story lol.

I'm not saying you need alcohol to meet with TheatreBoard people, but it definitely helped.

At this rate we're going to need two separate meet-ups anyway, as for a woman, currently not drinking, this begins to sound somewhat intimidating! Seriously, I am sure you are all perfect gentlemen and I can brazen it out if necessary and don't mind being the one and only but are there really no other female members still potentially interested in getting together?
As before, I'd be more likely to be able to join in if the location were somewhere more central and there have been some nibbles but anyone else lurking in the background?

I may be lurking - don't really drink, but used to put away copious amounts and don't have a problem with anyone who does! Were there no women there last week then?

I wasn't able to get there myself last week and I also have no issue with people drinking alcohol (though as I'd probably be going to a performance afterwards I'd generally aim to limit my intake of any type of liquid), so I don't know if there were any women there; I just had the impression there hadn't been. I'm sure those present can enlighten us... of course, we don't know how many women peered cautiously into the pub and retreated in fear of the carousing which has been reported!

There was one woman in attendance pre show last time and Stasia who has suggested March 18th or 25th is very definitely female.
All joking aside you shouldnt feel intimidated the afternoon portion of the meet pre show was not booze fueled at all. Fairly relaxed and chilled and chatty.

.. of course, we don't know how many women peered cautiously into the pub and retreated in fear of the carousing which has been reported! Or indeed how many men might have done the same. I think this type of event naturally adapts to its audience. If the people who showed up for the meet were all up for a drink and a bit of carousing then that's obviously how the evening is going to proceed for them, and why wouldn't it? If a wider cross section of the membership had been there then it would have probably turned out to be a different sort of evening. If people are only going to attend on the assurance that this, that or the other is/isn't going to happen then that's rather defeating the point isn't it?

I would add that any drunken carousing will occur with those not attending shows in the evening where most who attend these meets will be doing so between shows. They will encounter a far more refined atmosphere

I just wanted to let showgirl know that I'm a girl and would like to attend one of these meets in the future. It is a teeny bit scary you know, if you're *ahem* over 21.

Also, it was very much a camp affair for the most part, if you know what I mean So from that perspective, it was all innocent fun that was just fueled by alcohol this time. It should be a great aign that three from the meet up were comfortable enough with one another to stay at the pub throughout Wicked together and still stayed an extra hour after and three more, myself included, were comfortable enough to join them after.

I do absolutely take your point, BurlyBeaR that
"If people are only going to attend on the assurance that this, that or the other is/isn't going to happen then that's rather defeating the point isn't it?"
though I also agree with Tibidabo that it is "a teeny bit scary you know, if you're *ahem* over 21."
Of course, as with the board, and indeed life itself, it takes all sorts and some of us are probably a little more cautious and reserved than others and might prefer some reassurance. It is however equally possible that some - of whom I may even be one - would be deterred if they thought there would NOT be any raucous and unrestrained behaviour...

I think there's a danger of "over thinking" these things. Oh how I long to be 21. Just two years to go!

I'm glad (well, I think I am) that I can't recall 21. On the other hand if my mental age is regressing, I may have overshot it long ago and be in negative figures now.

I couldn't make the last meet up, but am hoping to get to the next one. I'm female! And vaguely remember being 21...

Don't make me scroll through all the posts. When and where is next meet please? I'm over 21 but don't look it (wanna contradict a mod?) female, happy to drink, like macaroons, no dogs, no nudity.
