Wasn't she also supposed to be releasing a new CD?

Here's hoping Brian May will be back on bord - and with him one or two Queen covers. Her last album was horrible not very good.

If anyone on here would like to ask Kerry Ellis some questions directly, you can do so next Friday at 4PM. She'll be doing a Snapchat interview for a musical theatre themed facebook group. Their Snapchat name is MTASSOCIETY

Is this the album that was being heralded as Anthems II for ages?
It's not bad but half of it has been released as singles already over last couple of years!
She has a stunning voice that I love, but this isn't quite at the Anthems level of amazingness. Having said that Story of a Heart (also on the new Steps album) is incredible.

No venues near me and am reluctant to book a long road trip if they are going to put in new venues in a day or so. Oh the dilemma.

Bit of a different sort of venue to selling out the Royal Albert Hall not that many years ago...!

It's hard being a "singer from the musicals" though, in London you can be well known but outside London?

So La Ellis is going "straight" as Gwendolen in 'The Importance of Being Earnest' on a UK tour. But not for all of it so choose your dates carefully Ellis fans. Not sure it's quite the look for her but hey ho.

So this is the tour with the barely recognisable Gwen Taylor and Susan Penhaligon?
They should surely have waited for the Classic Spring production, and toured that.

Poor Kerry does look like she could be Jack's mother . . .

As usual she is ducking out of the venue nearest me, although I am very intrigued to see this!

^ Whereas poor Susan Penhaligon looks like Jack’s mother who’s lost a cow and found a beanstalk...!

Not the greatest picture tbh. Kerry looks very old in it. I like her as a singer in concert, but I really don’t rate her as an actress at all. Maybe she’ll surprise me?

Kerry almost looks like Helen Lederer in the photo, considering she is supposed to be playing a fairly young woman, the costume does make her look old. I wouldn't say that normally Kerry looks old for her age.

Kerry was in good voice tonight at the leading ladies concert with Louise Dearman, Linzi Hately and Victoria Hamilton- Barritt. A great concert very well sung by all the ladies.

Great to hear this, I might try and get to the Barbican tomorrow night if logistics allow. Do you remember any of the setlist at all?

Every year I say I will go to these concerts.
Every year the Christmas-New Year idleness creeps in and I can never be bothered.

The setlist was very lengthy a mix of many genres from Chicago, Rent, Jesus Christ Superstar, Chess, Mamma Mia, Wicked, Les Mis, Sweet Charity, Follies, Cabaret, We will rock you, Blood Brothers. Lots more. I guarantee you will enjoy it, the orchestra was fab too.

I'm not feeling great though and I'm not sure if I can bring myself to get home from London at 10pm tonight. Might stay on the meds for now and decide later. Sounds great though, glad you enjoyed it 😁
