Wasn't in the audience, but thought it interesting to mention - saw David Dawson and Tom Hughes (not together) at NT Studio earlier this week which might suggest we will hear some exciting casting news for future NT productions soon (or they were just visiting))

I wasn't there to witness, but according to the show's tweets, Lin-Manuel Miranda was at "Murder Ballad" yesterday.

I don't know why I love this thread, but I do.
Anyway when I was over in America, a few weeks ago - a fellow theatre goer was telling me when they were in London and went to the Lyceum Theatre to see The Lion King and they seemed quite blown away to of sat in the Royal Box and seemed quite overwhelmed as that went on that they actually sat in the same seat as the Queen did beforehand. I let you draw your own conclusions as I did!!!!!

Many a Queen would have sat in the Royal Box before they did - as any box office manager will tell you. And I'm sure they were given a warm hand upon their entrance when they arrived.

Long time lurker and theatre goer but first time poster so be gentle!
On the Wednesday performances of Cursed Child on 16th nov I spent the whole of both parts sat directly in front of the legend that is John Waters! He was silent throughout but was with three fellow American friends who talked way too much for my liking. Before realising it was him the person I was with nearly turned round to tell them off. Upon realising we were both glad we didn't Sssshhh such an icon, not that he was the offender of course. Safe to say I was properly star struck when finally realising at the interval to part 2 he had been already been staring at the back of my head for about 4 hours by that point.

Fiona Shaw at The Old Vic last night. Nil points - it's a Deborah Warner show. Yeah. (Old story alert). I once sat behind those two at an Old Vic show - they never stopped whispering and giggling - they should have just booked a hotel room instead.

Welcome, cursedboi. Quite a boast to start with LOL. Awww thanks monkey, your site has been a godsend over the years. It's quite impressive ain't it, I had to finally register and share lol. Slightly less impressive was literally bumping into Graham Norton when Priscilla lived at the palace before Potter, and I sat right next to Georgia Moffat with her son who had come to see her Dad, peter Davison, in Legally Blonde at the savoy.

Cursed Child is THE best place for famous people spotting. Last time I was there Margot Robbie was sat behind me, and Ben Affleck and Darren Criss were across the aisle from me. And the time before that it was Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy with their kids. Celebs are always in Row J. Ben Whishaw was at Comus when I saw it last month. And he was with Sinead Matthews.

Yep, we had Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton (and kids) when we went to Cursed Child. They were in row L though.

Forgot to report that Benedict Wong was in the row behind me at The Children last week at the Court. He *may* have been with Lucy Kirkwood (there was some sort of gala event on) but not sure.

I once saw Judi Dench at Royal Albert Hall during Proms, was massively starstruck. Apparently I wasn't the only one as she exchanged a few words with gift shop's assistant and I overheard him saying to a friend that it made his day.

Haven't read all this thread but I'm surprised no one has commented on ...you see someone in the theatre who looks familiar and you start to make your way over only to realise how you 'know' them. It's happened to me several times and I think part of it is they are usually dressed down, i.e. not showbissy. (I find that a little disspointing - "its the Stars that have gotten smaller")
Last summer I turned around and recognised the chap next to me wearing a suit and flat cap and was within a heartbeat of saying "Hello". Well you don't expect to bump into Jools Holland in the Foyer of the ROH before a perfomance of Tannhauser, do you?
PS a few years ago Sophie Ellis Bextor was stalking me at the Theatre...but thats for another thread.
