Wow! That is a lot.
Karen has been winding down for a while now, and she rarely has anyone good. Nadiya doesn't get partners or last very long.

Johannes no doubt thinks that Kinky Boots is going to shoot him to musical theatre stardom. I have my doubts.

Nadia and Kai currently hate each other and can’t be in eyeline of each other. One has to go and I think Kai has more of a draw.

I think the show has past it's best and seems to deteriorate each year. Admittedly it gets decent ratings but the production values have fallen and the calibre of 'Celebrities' has dropped too.

Agree. I watch it on fast forward now. I can’t bear the rehearsal crap, so fake. Can’t bear the Claudia interviews, fake. Most of the judges are grandstanding and bigging themselves up, especially Ballas. The celebs are barely known, the pros are prima donnas. The whole thing is a shadow of what it used to be.

Be kind on Shirley, she just split up from her partner. They didn't really, they split up months ago, but her team decided to milk it now.

I think the show could use a reshuffle, some new chorography for sure.

I’ve learned to assume tabloid ‘inside sources’ are completely made up - most of them are basic assumptions or guesses based on watching the show itself. Their rumour that two of the professionals are not on speaking terms after their split is literally that they are seen stood in different places in the claudatorium.
Also Karen commented on JoJo’s post about ‘where do they get this 💩?” which might also confirm the rumour she’s leaving is also untrue

I don’t keep up with interviews, but I can imagine that’s true - but the claim is that an ‘inside source’ says they somehow cannot physically be near one another and that it’s a source of tension and drama backstage. That feels incredibly dubious

Does Craig have his period or something? He’s actually spoiling tonights show by being unpleasantly contrary and unfairly under marking some.
…and the under marking of Chris is an embarrassment. He has been accepted on the programme with his limitations and opportunities, he is getting amazing comments then punched in the face with crappy scores. If he’s good enough for your positive words he should be given the marks to go with it.

The scoring was appalling tonight.
Even more so than usual
Sarah deserved more than that.
JB deserved a lot less. He made footwork errors. His legs weren't great. Not even close to Danny Mac.
Chris made me cry. That should have been marked higher.
Most of the music choices were poor. They just need to use tracks that actually fit the dance style. It's not hard.
Much as I enjoyed Team Mojo, they were fighting the music throughout.
The AT will never work to that music.

Craig's the only one worth listening to at this point. It's refreshing that one of the judges doesnt buy into the let's over score every Couples Choice approach. I thought that was one of Chris's weaker efforts tonight.
10s for that unremarkable Quickstep or for Pete's dance being about a dead relative just shows how far Strictly has fallen.

I would normally agree, but this evening he was just mean.

I thought some of the music choices and musical arrangements were atrocious! Really off putting when they use tracks which don‘t fit the dance style. Call me a traditionalist but when I see an Argentine Tango I want proper Tango music. Occasionally a modern Interpretation works but usually it ruins the dance for me.

I really disliked the music for both the Argentine tango and the paso yesterday.

I am increasingly of the opinion that perhaps it has had its day. They try and include the seemingly un-include able, then happily throw them under the bus for sport. The judges scores, comments & behaviour are so entirely predictable and workmanlike they need not exist at all.

I know every series gets less than the previous, but it’s got to be on of the beebs biggest shows still?

They still say it's an audience of millions but it does feel like a lot of people are giving up on it now, it's feeling very "seen it all before". The fact they also only get 85000 votes speaks volumes (especially as you can vote 3 times online so individual voters will be a lot fewer than that).

The BBC historically haven't released any voting info. Anyway it's still getting over 8m viewers and usually tops the week so it's absolutely safe even if many of us think it's declined.

One other thing I really found uncomfortable this week was their treatment of Pete post-dance.
It was brutally obvious that he was in a huge amount of emotional distress. They should have cut the interviews short to get him off camera as soon as possible.
Seeing a man shaking and struggling to hold back tears was not good telly.
