Pretty much.
On a happier note, the UK Tour is now doing a stop in Düsseldorf/Germany over christmas/new year, basically at my doorstep.
I FINALLY get to show my favourite show to some local friends after rejecting the abomination that haunted Oberhausen.

Has anybody been following the biog videos for the new Las Vegas BOOH cast? They might need to rename it "Bland Out Of Hell". They all seem so terminally dull and cherry-picked off of cruise ships. Is this normal for Las Vegas shows? I haven't but have just been to have a look and could happily swap for their Strat.

I FINALLY get to show my favourite show to some local friends after rejecting the abomination that haunted Oberhausen. I saw that and thought of you! With the extra dates in Germany, Swansea and London tagged onto the end of the tour, I wonder if this is going to extend out further? Some of the cast have hinted at leaving in October so there will be a cast change coming regardless.

So, after booking for the Liverpool stop of the tour back in 2019, it was finally great to see the show with the full cast on stage last night. Having seen this great cast last year in Manchester, last night's show didn't disappoint. Plenty of energy from the cast belting out Jim's classic songs. Having seen the show 3 times now, I'm probably none the wiser about the plot and being sat next to two ladies who were seeing the show first time asked me about it during the interval. My response was don't even try to understand it, it's just bonkers. At the end of the show, they had a great time when I asked so the show must be doing something right
I have to say last night's experience was certainly different to my 2 Manchester viewings. With Manchester I got the full sing-along versions, but last night with the preshow announcement about not singing, the Liverpool audience were on their best behaviour. Not a peep out of them all night. Even the clapping bit at the end of "You took the words right out of my mouth" wasn't there to any great extent.
Cast-wise, they all sounded great. Glenn and Martha really work well together as Strat and Raven, though for me and I'm sure I'm not alone in this, it's Rob and Sharon that really make this show and make me make return visits to this show. It's not just their vocals which are just stunning but their comedy, particularly in "Paradise By the Dashboard Light". Rob and Sharon really are two great MT stars and they really are a joy to see on stage.
What was great was at the encore, along with "BOOH", the cast did "Good Girls Go to Heaven" as a tribute to Jim and Meatloaf which was a really nice way to round off the show. It's just a shame that "It Just Wont Quit" has been dropped. It was a great number in the original run.
With the show at the Empire running until next weekend, thanks to some single seat £20 offers knocking around at the theatre, I've booked for another 2 viewings next week. At that price, it would be rude to pass them over.

Was there last night and god, Rob and Sharon really do make the show! They’re just wonderful together. Had a great night, such a fun silly show with an amazing cast.

In its last week in Liverpool, I made 2 visits to the show this week and had 2 different viewing experiences. On Wednesday night we had Sam Pope as the alt Strat. Not having seen Sam in the role before, vocally he was great and knocked the songs out of the park, though his take on Strat was one I couldn’t really buy into. Having seen both Andrew and Glenn in the role, they both had the vocal and that rock rebel take on the character which is what I want from the actor and the energy that comes from the guys performance. Sam’s take for me didn’t really work in the show. His Strat for me didn’t come across as any kind of rebel and certainly watching the show, the show felt very different when he was on stage.
Last night’s show had Glenn back and he is just great to watch and listen to. A real rock rebel performance who doesn’t take himself seriously in the role with those cheeky glances to the audience during the show. The energy that I felt wasn’t there on Wednesday was back last night and made a massive difference to my enjoyment watching this fantastic show. It was also great to get a really cheap front row stalls seat so i could see the band in action as well as the cast.
Rob and Sharon as always were on form and are worth the ticket money with their performances. Along with a great ensemble cast and band, it’s been an absolutely pleasure to see this completely bonkers show over the last 2 weeks and to hear those great rock classics from Jim performed live. I got chatting to a number of newbies who hadn’t seen the show before and talking to them after the show, all of them loved it.
What was interesting was that it was only at last Tuesday nights opening the cast sang “Good Girls Go To Heaven” during the encore, the other 2 times, only BOOH was sung. It seems totally random was to when they sing “Good Girls”, but I’m glad they included it in at least one of the shows I saw. It’s a great song.

I’ve seen this tour most on a Saturday matinee if I can do the venue as a day trip from London, and so haven’t had many. It seems to be almost guaranteed on an opening night, so I’ll see what happens at Woking as I’m there a few times during the 2 week stop, including the opening night.

Next week the tour is in Woking in which would have been the last 2 weeks of the tour before they extended again, and we have cast change on 5th November to look forward to. I’m in quite a few times this week as It was originally the end of the run.

Has it been announced which characters will have a cast change yet? Martha has announced that she's leaving, so definitely a new Raven. Don't know about others! They'll be giving away tickets in Woking - its really not selling well at all. That's sad, since it has been doing fairly well elsewhere. But maybe between the old London runs, Wimbledon and soon another London run, they exhausted their potential audience in the area. Düsseldorf doesn't look too hot yet either, but it's still two months away and Germans are VERY reluctant to book anything ahead right now, because of all the cancellations. Poor Moulin Rouge had their first preview on Tuesday, then the following performances were all cancelled "due to illness" (read: people were tested positive for Covid and forced to isolate) and the second performance was only yesterday evening.

I think we might see one or two old friends joining the cast for London next year.

Are there any offers about for this, as it's not selling so well in Woking? ATG site has price range from £13 but I can't find these prices anywhere... Some good seats around £30 though.

There’s dynamic pricing doing on tonight and seats in A and B in the stalls for £20. Shame I can’t get there tonight!

It's an ATG venue so direct booking would be via ATG.(Their headquarters is also in Woking) No similar pricing for tonight onwards as far as I can see.

Last day of the tour today, and I’ve taken my youngest with me- it’s their first time for a double show day, muck up matinee (hopefully) and cast change so they are very excited.
Sad to see some of this cast go tonight but it’s been a fantastic 14 months and just so wonderful to have Bat back again for a little while.

One of my favourite lines in BOOH is “Don’t be a dic..tator”. Wise advice.
