Get ready for ten more minutes of Tess and Clod desperately trying to fill the Giomanda gap. Just show Vito and Nikita's dance again. Pleasure rather than pain!

Voting felt a bit more realistic this week
Layton can dance but that wig was distracting
Ellie and Vito were great.
Eddie and Zara in the dance off would be my guess

I take nothing away from Angela, she is bloody amazing - although I think so far the dances have been chosen to favour her because she is GOLD for the BBC.
But did we really have to see her with the other septuagenarians of “Rip Off Britain” in that totally cringe and pointless video? What does her participation in SCD have to do with Julia Somerville and Gloria Hunniford other than to say “Angela is an old dear like these two. Aren’t we good for having her in Strictly”? Diversity BBC? Really? How about just portraying her as a normal tv presenter without her age influencing everything?

It’s got to be Zara out.

She barely danced a step tonight. Too much time in the air. But Eddie is still the weaker dancer

Ellie and Vito were brilliant tonight, I loved everything about their dance. I agree with others that Zara barely did any actual dance steps - she was either being spun round or lifted up. Anton’s comments were very fair. Angela R has definitely been favoured with the dances given to her. Yes she can dance but she is very led by Kai and does a lot of stretching poses. There’s too much gushing over her.

Angela can't avoid the faster dances forever.
But that takes nothing away from her achievements. She might not be being challenged as much as some would like. But what she is being asked to do is being tailored to her abilities which is true of most of the celebs.
Her flexibility is incredible for someone half her age. She has a natural poise and a good musicality.
Is she the best dancer? No. Is she the best dancer over 70 the show has ever had? Very probably.
Will she win? No. But she is still somewhat of an inspiration

The gap is widening now.
If Angela S carries on like that then she will be in danger soon.
Zara didn’t really dance at all and won’t catch up the better half now. It’s not a confidence thing anymore, it’s ability.
Adam was over scored on his couples choice, as they all do. I thought it was AWFUL! Really hard to watch at points.
I don’t think Annabel sold the Charleston enough.
Eddie was the worst of the night, he has to go tomorrow.

Carlos isn't quite as good as he thinks he is.

The highlight of the night was Vito trying to explain his fragolina ( I thought it was a strawberry liqueur, but I prefer his version) and almost losing a tooth due to over excitement. Eddie or Zara to go, though I probably hated Adam and Luba's dance more. How could the judges even see what they were doing when it was all directed at the camera far downstage of them?

After their exquisite pro-dance last week, I kinda wish I could vote for Vito & Nikita as a couple. But their separate dances with Ellie and Layton were the standouts last night. Ellie's still not as strong a partner as Fleur was last year but she's steadily improving. Layton is just sensational and it's great to see Nikita throwing lots of wild lifts and flips into his choreography knowing he has such a capable partner.

Ellie I don't know what dance training she ever did as she was in Corrie from such a young age and wouldn't have struck me as such a natural dancer or a gym bunny like Fleur was. But she certainly looks more toned now and likely went on a fitness drive post Corrie pre Strictly to be prepared for the show and the training is making her look even more toned. She seems to be having a great time and after a decade of playing a troubled teen, being a teenage mum, whether to be the Princess Fiona to Craig's Shrek she has left Faye behind and we are actually seeing the confident, beautuil Ellie beginning to shine. Layton is an excellent dancer so Nikita has the confidence to try more daring moves and no doubt Layton really wants to showcase what he can do. Layton seems to have become a much more recepitive partner and is clearly fulling taking in all Nikita's suggestions and choerography plus would always be able to make his own suggestions so Nikita knows exactly what Layton can do and fully showcase his dancing skills and flexibility.

Expect her to go out the week after Blackpool, or the week after that, unless the public keep her in (as happened with Joe Sugg - who they did *exactly* the same thing with, constructing his story to get him to Blackpool, so his nan could come and watch him, and have a lovely nostalgic moment - and who then got harsh scores and harsh critique the following two weeks, as he had outlived his usefulness - only to be saved by the public!)

Not really sure that Strictly producers have some secret masterplan as to how they can manipulate the season. They gain no commercial advantage from it.

I'm not sure I agreed with some of the scoring. With a few exceptions, I found most of the night underwhelming. Perhaps I wasn't in the mood. Two very disappointing American Smooths Was Ellie and Vito's trip to Battersea Power Station another of your ideas, our david?

Personally I'd love to see them win, but as having previous dance experience and being too good from the early weeks seems to be the ultimate disadvantage on Strictly, I'll just root for them to stay in till the final. I already can't wait to see what Nikita does with their Charleston.

At this stage, I think we're down to four in the final!
I know I've said this before, Krishnan won't win but by God, he's having a ball!

I appreciate the couples rehearse the dance in the studio on a Friday to get used to the space and so the technical side of things- lighting, sound, the musicians can also practice,
However does anyone get a little dizzy when watching from the camera angles?

The opening number was right up my street. "I got you" which Liza Minnelli performed on Liza with a Z, choreography by Bob Fosse.

Angela getting to Blackpool and going out then would be a fitting send off for her. So she'd need to survive another 3 weeks to get there. Zara and Krishnan would be the next two likely couples to go. So you'd then need to lose one more to get Miss Rippon to Blackpool that is where things start getting tight.

I already can't wait to see what Nikita does with their Charleston. We just don't know how the public are voting for Layton and Nikita. If they start to be in the dance off around Blackpool or just after we'll know they aren't getting the public votes. The bookies have 5 couples ahead of them in the betting when Layton is the strongest celeb dancer IMO or certainly in the top 3 of anyone's choices based on just dancing. I cannot see how he won't reach the final as even if he is in the dance offs he'll have to be saved as he's the strongest dancer. I have no really strong feelings on who I'd like to win it this year. I like Layton and if he won I'd be pleased for him and Nikita.

The weekly Strictly Spoiler poll hasn't had Layton doing well with their voters.
He is heading towards an Ashley-type season
Known to be a good dancer Demonstrates those skills consistently Judges score highly Public aren't convinced he is their winner
I agree that if Layton is the dance off, he will be saved
But good, experienced dancer wins show isn't the traditional narrative for the format.
