I'm probably overthinking this, but I've been thinking about the fact that they are bringing back two of the most popular Elphabas in a row. I just hope this isn't a sign that the show is in trouble. I haven't been in a while, but when I went last year on a Thursday night, there were lots of empty seats. Again, I might be completely wrong, but what do you guys think? Maybe people who have the opportunity to see it more often have a better view of whether it's still selling well enough. EDIT: also when I saw it in Rachel's first week back, I arrived at the theatre around 11AM and was still able to get two front row seats. I've seen a fair few pictures online from midweek shows and the stalls are half empty. Not sure if they were from a matinee though

Really think the RMT take the p*** to be honest. Seem to encourage strike action anywhere and everywhere nowadays..

Anyone caught one of Rosa's Glinda shows yet? Caught her on the Saturday Matinee which would have been her second show. First time I've seen Wicked since 2014 and I thought she was fantastic both vocally and as an actor. First time I've seen Rachel too and she is just fantastic!

Jesus, if you want a sense of screaming fangirls, its loud throughout, but listen at 6:20 onward when they start bringing out Lin! This actually makes me cringe so much. I'm pretty sure I saw a "competition" on twitter the other week between the superfans as to who would clap/scream first at the end of Sunrise

When they announced Nic Rouleau as the new Price, it was definitely earlier than this. Last year's announcement was on the 14th Jan, so I reckon we'll be looking at similar this time

Saw STOS' production of Made in Dagenham in Sheffield last November and thought it was excellent. Have heard that Croft House also put on some great shows too. Sheffield University Performing arts put on some great shows too but then I'm a little biased there

What's the point in having multiple alternates if they're not going to be fairly splitting shows? Why not just have one alternate and then girls in the ensemble cover it too?? Seems ridiculous...maybe it's just a cover up to get rid of Karen as there was a lot of rumours that producers didn't like her. There's other shows that run in a similar way. Book of Mormon has two standby Cunninghams, yet one of them has probably only been on 5 or 6 times in the two years that he's been in the cast

From an interview, I think Declan moved over to the UK and auditioned for the original West End Cast. He was offered standby on the National Tour instead This one? Thanks for the reminder! www.westendframe.com/2016/06/big-interview-declan-egan.htmlI was told the "Declan is probably going to be the Melbourne Price" thing from someone who had been in the show for a while (but wasn't at the time they told me). Yeah that's the one The producers of BoM really confuse me with their casting choices sometimes. I really can't think of any reason why you wouldn't a UK actor playing the part over here. If anything, I've found that the understudies/standbys that are UK based seem to have a much better connection with the audience when it comes to the humour, due to the subtle differences in American and British humour

Do we know if Brian Sears is staying? Judging by the "I've heard you're leaving, I'll miss you" tweets directed at him on Twitter that he's favourited. I'd guess so. He's been in BoM London for 2 years now so I think it would be unlikely that he'd stay

New cast announcement must be soon right? Last year they didn't have it until a couple of weeks into rehearsals (which by my count would be this coming week or the next) but it was fairly easy to deduce who was rehearsing via twitter. Usually around the second week of Jan I think

We also had an Australian Elder Price standby on tour (Declan Egan) who I think was originally intended to be the original Melbourne Elder Price, but Declan's now in Jersey Boys in London... and there's Ryan Bondy (Canadian and vet of all three US productions) opening instead. Having not seen Dom Simpson yet (the previously mentioned Broadway standby), I don't have an opinion on his performance, but I was surprised they hired a guy straight out of university who literally came to the US within a week or so of graduation. Who knows what goes on? From an interview, I think Declan moved over to the UK and auditioned for the original West End Cast. He was offered standby on the National Tour instead

Wouldn't be surprised if he came over to be honest, I'm sure he stated he'd like to on periscope a while back. "pippip" looks also be a hint at London/ the UK. I really think it's a shame they won't cast UK actors in these roles, all of the standbys/understudies I've seen at BoM have been superb And yet America got Mark Evans as a lead Elder Price on their US tour, and their current standby Price on Broadway is British as well. I'm guessing Evans was intended to replace Creel here but it didn't end up that way. I think it's a real shame we haven't had British (full time) leads in this, and the show has been open nearly 4 years. I think it's a real shame David O'Reilly has never been promoted to principle Cunningham. I think he is absolutely fantastic and he's been with the company since the beginning

The guy that filmed this is another one of the serial offenders. Films literally every wicked show he attends. Surprises me that he's not been caught to be honest. What I find even funnier, is that his website tries to state that it's somehow illegal to shut his website down for copyright infringements XD I'm not gonna lie. I like this kind of short clips. But filming entire shows is very disrespectful. Filming short clips is disrespectful too, but I'd be a hypocrite if I said I didn't watch them. This guy films the whole show everytime he goes by the looks of his website. He just puts snippets of the full recording on YouTube...

The comment under this video are so over the top, e.g. "DEAD OMG" Is it just me that thinks she sounds as flat as pancake when she goes for it? It's just a scream. Yeah she didn't hit it 100% right. It does sound more like a scream. Great quality video though. The guy that filmed this is another one of the serial offenders. Films literally every wicked show he attends. I really don't understand where they find the time or money if I'm being completely honest. I'm all for people spending their money how they wish, of course, but to go every week is just so excessive. Granted I live in Manchester but even finding a spare Saturday in November to see a matinee was hard enough. Exactly, even if its dayseating, it's still in the region of £30 a go and some of these people claim to have gone 50 times in the past few years which is around £1500 on theatre tickets, let alone the cost of trains etc. Most of these people are student age too. and being a student myself, I certainly don't have the money to go to more than around 5 shows a year, if that. Even then, I'd try and see something different every time

This. I don't go to last/first shows anymore because I'm done with riffing and screaming. Don't forget the crying! Rachel's last last was punctuated by someone at the front sobbing loudly throughout. Plenty were upset, myself included, but did not feel the need to behave in this manner. Some fangirls (and boys) are like peacocks forever strutting around with their constant "look at me" audible reminders of screams and cries to try and convince those on stage they're most affected by their performances. I find first shows wonderful to watch though but mainly for the crowds reaction . One note in and they're either "omg the best ever" or completely written off as "they'll never be as good as..." This fanbase is absolutely fascinating isn't it?! Is it the same for other shows? I bet the Jersey Boys stage door gets crazy! I've only ever been to a UK tour performance and you get the oldies going crazy during the show (One woman conducted the whole show from the Balcony in the Sheffield Lyceum) but it's a different crazy to Wicked. In Wicked, the superfans really seem to want to make it obvious that they go to one show every week and that they think the cast are their friends. With Jersey Boys, the issue seems to be that some people don't realise that it's not a concert, but with Wicked it's really a case of some of the fans wanting to seem the most emotional and wanting to be the centre of attention. Both are annoying, but for me when people scream and cry just for the sake of it at Wicked, it really gets my back up

Give me a well sung to score Elphaba any day of the week over a riffed up performance, and I'm including Rachel in this who I have made no secret is my ultimate Elphaba but has been pulling riffs out all over the shop in her latest West End run. Don't get me wrong, they give me a thrill and they're executed very well but still, this score! It's amazing as it is! There's another opinion that is not right or wrong... This. I don't go to last/first shows anymore because I'm done with riffing and screaming. The score was written a certain way for a reason. I enjoy a riff when it affirms the emotion in a certain word - so for this reason I don't enjoy Rachel's performance this run as much as I did in her first run because, whilst her vocals and riffs are flawless this run, she doesn't (IMO) convey as much emotion as it feels like she's lost touch with the meaning/emotion in some of the score. People used to say that 'Willemijn is capable of riffing way more than she does on the west end because I saw her do a crazy riff in a concert version so she must be under instruction not to riff' - yes maybe but also it's worth considering that the riff might not feel part of her characters emotion. Give me a score-sung performance over a riff any day. Unless, of course, it's Shoshana Bean. Then I'll welcome a riff. [Also don't think she could sing it to score if she tried LOL] 100% agree with this. Willemijn has some beautiful riffs that she has done in solo performances and her final shows. Ultimately though, I feel her mostly to score versions of the song in the show are strongest and really help portray the message of the song.

I agree with everything Martin said except for his comment about Nikki Davis-Jones, bitch she is the best acted Elphaba in any Wicked production around the world okayyyyyyyyy gurl (I have to say this is satire because certain people on this forum will not understand I am joking about Martin having an opinion. My love for Nikki Davis-Jones and thinking she is amazing is however, not satire. Love you Nikki) Anyway, I find it very frustrating that the person who says Rachel can't act and said to me personally that "outside of the three big songs I find her so boring that I nearly fall asleep" labels a video "RACHEL TUCKER IS INCREDIBLE *love heart emoji*" and states "All hail QUEEN Rachel Tucker as she belts out her OUTSTANDING Fiyero Riff on Broadway!" in the description. It's very fake. Be upfront and honest about it. You can't go around saying you love a performer to some, and hate her to others because that's what will have the best outcome in your conversation. I don't like Emma Hatton. I don't think she can act at all and I find her voice incredibly unpleasant. Ashleigh Gray is not my favourite by a long mile, however I still like her Elphaba and would gladly see her again and see if she has improved. Honesty with these things goes a long way. I genuinely do get very disheartened by how "cliquey" and fake certain parts of the Wicked fandom can be *cough Fanzels cough* Also, regarding the "amazing Fiyero riff" before this user tries to defend that specific moment saying that he does in fact like that moment as it's part of the three big songs criteria, you said quite literally yesterday that you don't like Rachel's riff. Unfortunately, it seems like this person feels musical theatre is more about riffs than anything else and despite slating people's acting, fails to understand that certain "phenomenal" riffs in Emma's performance did begin to take away from the meaning of the song...

Rachel isn't what everyone makes her out to be, personally i don't like her Elphaba that much, i much prefer Alice & Emma She isn't what people make her out to be? Interesting. Is she really a three hoofed unicorn maskerading as a theatre performer? Who knew... Or maybe it could just be that people like different things in "their" Elphaba to others? They always have and they always will. Milk and two sugars for me...

I'm pretty sure (at least some of) these "teams" haven't even seen their idols on stage at all and just creating this account because they've been cast in Wicked. Definitely. I remember the "team Laura Emmitt" account tweeting about finally having seen Laura as Elphaba several months after the account was created. And she was a swing so it's not like she had a notable ensemble track either. Often I think it's just a race amongst the "super fans" as to who can set one up the quickest and be the "original" Team Emma or whatever

So I can expect lots of uploads from Evita soon then? I cant wait I'm ok with this as long as there's a lot of GianMarco in those videos. What a sexy Che. Of course you can't expect that as he clearly says "I did not record this and do not claim to own it" so we'll have to hope the person that does all the recording goes to see Evita too

Are you aware how much of a dim view the performers take to doing this? If you take a read back in this thread then you'll see just what current and past members of the Wicked UK cast think about certain people who do this. And by certain people, they know these people by name... Not to mention the fact it is also 100% illegal I know some performers don't mind it if it's not distracting them which i highly doubt audioing the show will distract them as they can't even tell! That's really not how it is... The majority find it very disrespectful, regardless as to whether it is "distracting" or not. If you want to do that, then don't bother going to the theatre. Aside from that, it is an infringement of copyright to both the artist and the producers of the show. If you so say love this show and the performers in it so much, then why do you do something that goes against the very thing they specifically tell you not to do?

Could said person have changed the YouTube name? The name was changed but it now seems to be deleted. They are lucky as on a different day they could have found themselves with a very expensive court appearance on their hands! I'm sure said person has numerous accounts that continuously change names and get deleted. I'm sure they had audios on there from at least 40 Wicked shows
